    it amazes me what they allow on US roads. By law here in Europe bike racks all have to have lights on them they also have to have a licence plate on them matching the vehicle they are mounted on, this is to prevent the bikes from obscuring the lights or the plate.
    The huge downside I see to your stupidly expensive rack is that it would take someone with a drill less than 30 seconds to steal it and at 1500 bucks you can guarantee someone will try.

      One thing rad about this rack is it shows the license when there are no bikes and it folded up.
      When there are bikes on their it does hide the plates. I don’t have a solid solution for when they are full of bikes.

      I’ve a BMW 3 series with a tow bar, the electrics automatically compensate when I’ve a rack/trailer plugged in. So it disables the rear most parking sensors, but the camera still works as it should.

    I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...

    I bought this for my two riese muller ebikes... unfortunately the old Kuat 2.0 was a much more secure rack because the hook to the front wheel was much stronger. The piston pro x uses a thin aluminum for the uprights and a plastic piece to cinch down the tire - it moves terribly, even with an extra strap. Then consider the new system makes no accommodations for fenders.

  • @jamiegrant8764
    @jamiegrant8764 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What I don't like about the rack is that it is not very secure for keeping your bikes safe. The long plastic coated wire lock will only stop the opportunist thief and putting locks on the cradles for the wheels will not actually do anything whatsoever, because all I'd need to do is undo your thru axle or quick release then lift the frame off then the wheels are free as well. The integrated lights are good though and saves connecting an auxiliary lighting board to a rack.

    • @jamiegrant8764

      @@EverythingsBeenDone I wasn't trying to p you off with my comment as I watched the video three times pausing it so I could get a better look and have gone to the website as well. I honestly don't know if the manufacturer could add something like what Thule uses to clamp the down or top tube but I wouldn't fancy clamping a carbon frame in one incase it cracked. Bike security with bike racks has been an issue for 30 years and no manufacturer can say their racks are completely bike thief proof. If I had to use the plastic coated wire one I'd probably go for at least higher security rated 10mm one and use a motorcycle alarmed disc/rotor lock (type which can also be used as a padlock) to give an extra bit of audible security.
