    The grim reality is that there is a limit whereby technique will not overcome physical differences in an unarmed, one-on-one fight. I like the point they made that you have to be more technical and you have to train (and fail) on a regular basis to develop the skills. Some people commented that they should have showed moves instead of talking about it, but truth be told, there isn’t any “move” that anyone can show in a 15 minute video that would apply to all cases of someone taking on someone else bigger than them. Like they said in the video, you have to put in the time, blood, sweat and tears to develop these combative skills. You can’t learn how to fight from watching a single video on TH-cam.
    I appreciate the content you put out. Thanks.

    Another equalizer that often gets overlooked: learn to hit *hard* and *fast*. I saw a 5'8", 150 pound boxer put our 6'8" 350+ pound linebacker out with a single lightning-fast right hook in highschool. The fight lasted 3 seconds; the moment he stepped in range to grab the smaller guy he stepped in, angled up, and blasted his jaw with the hardest hook I've ever seen thrown by someone who wasn't Tyson. It was a very sobering moment for everyone who witnessed it, seeing this giant dude who benches 500 pounds (not kidding, his record is still on the wall in the gym) tumble down a flight of stairs, unconscious, after he picked a fight with someone who everyone thought wouldn't stand a chance against him. It wasn't even from surprise, the fight was on, it just ended instantly.

    For the smaller person to prevail, you need to learn the vulnerable areas of your opponent. Vicious attacks and strikes to these areas are your only option. To be able to disable the attacker is the game changer and can lead to a successful encounter. Of course if the option to break contact and run is available, take it.

    some of the toughest dudes i fought were smaller guys, they can be fierce and explosive. with bigger guys, i always tried to box and use my speed, chip away at em if time allowed. my friend is about the size of fit to fight and he would use his wrestling, punch his way in n take em down, or head butts. but if a big guy like imri lands a solid hit on you, its not going to be great

    • @danboone5672
      @danboone5672 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because real life isn’t boxing and you will gas out real quick when all the bigger guy has to do is keep moving in while you have to do all that boxing just to stay alive. Also there’s no ref to break up a clinch or move you off the ropes. If you’re just going to run away why even fight to begin with, just run away?

    That's why weapons were invented. A street fight IS NOT a sport. Someone is really trying to put you in the hospital or grave. If the attacker is bigger and stronger then you've got to make things equal. Speed and being lower to the ground aren't enough. Now even a small knife can slice across a forearm easily. Most attackers don't like seeing their own blood gushing out. Most don't like it if you poke holes in their body. If they persist then you just have to keep slicing until they get discouraged. Try attacking a little Filipino and you'll understand.

      Yes and no. The International Brazilian Jiujitsu Federation (IBJJF), North American Grappling Association (NAGA), and virtually every other combative sport organization forms divisions based on gender, age and weight for a reason. These are all factors in any physical endeavor. Having trained in BJJ, judo, wrestling and Muay Thai for over 15 years, I have rarely seen a high level female BJJ practitioner who could hold her own against a dude off the street who had a +80lbs weight advantage.
      That being said, they sure as hell whooped dudes on the regular who had a 30-40lbs weight advantage. BJJ is great, but it’s not realistic to expect the average woman to train enough to be able to reliably defeat the average man in a one-on-one unarmed fight.

    Why are you ignoring the knees?
    Take a kubotan or chisel (cut down broomhandle to about 6 inches and chisel formed on both sides) and target the knees and other bony areas. Hurts bad and can even crush bones. If it`s in the colour of your skin and you know how to palm it it`s likely that the other person(s) don`t even know it`s there until the first or second person is already on the ground.

    • @josheternal
      @josheternal 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Taking someone's knees out should only be done in certain context. Like if a bigger guy approaches you on the street and you think you're gonna get robbed or something.
      But you shouldn't go for someones knees in a "normal" fight situation ( i.e. barfights, fight on a college campus ect ect....). Because if you end up in front of a judge, you're gonna have to explain to the judge why you did permanent damage to someone. Now, if you were about to be robbed or a burglar was in your house, you're good. But if its a barfight, you're gonna have a hard time trying to convince a judge that your opponent, no matter how much bigger he was, intended to do you permanent or serious damage. So you'll probably go to prison for a good stint over a knee kick. No judge is gonna side with you taking someone's knee out because you were afraid to take a run of the mill butt kicking. So you gotta be careful when using a move like that

    • @mrd7067
      @mrd7067 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@josheternal
      In general you should only fight in a certain context.
      As for "normal" fight situations:
      Not exactly right but it probably depends on the jurisdictions.
      If you are not mutual combatants and you are not the primary aggressor and there is a disperaty of force (e.g. you are much smaller/weaker) you`d probably be fine. Here you don`t have to react with the minimal ammount of force needed but you can use a "reasonable ammount needed". We here also have something that`s called "palliative self defense".
      That being said if you get caught in any fight it probably ends in front of a judge so follow the golden rule.
