Good video, covering the most important aspect; committing to battle. If you are going to charge someone down with a lance, hit them at full tilt. Either stay out, or commit fully in, the most important thing to remember. Get to safety and cover and stay out of the way, or fight the attacker to the bitter end. Skills can't compensate for lack of effective force of violence, caused by a man giving up a half hearted attack halfway through. Imri's camera presence is improving, and the videos are as sharp as ever. Thanks for making these.
Its a good lesson. Most people would go for the gun (which is a small target), instead go for whats controling the gun with the mindset of dissarming the bad guy.
Another great vid by TR. This is as simple and practical as it could possiby get. This should be taught all over the country, as often as first aid. But as Amber pointed out, you have to commit 100% if you go for it. And hopefully those around you will come and help - there's strength in numbers!!
That looks like an OUTSTANDING way to disarm an active shooter if you are unarmed! I would love to see the techniques to then get control of said firearm, once you have gained control of the situation? Thanks again Karl for another great training video!!! And thanks for the patch, I can't wait to get it! I'm going to put it aside, and wear it during the zombie apocalypse so when that day comes you can identify friend from foe! Because I'd definitely want to be on your team in a SHTF situation, Green Berets lead the way, ALL the way!! God bless you, your family, and the TR crew! And God bless America!! Thanks again!!🤜🤛🇺🇸🇺🇸
Home run video ....... This technique should have been taught nation wide after the the first school shooting. Everyone working at a school should be required to take the one day course , before being given a classroom. excellent information. Thanks TR team. Btw the extra camera angles were absolutely critical , and helpful for perspective .
As the young lady notes, people in the ivory towers tell the people on the ground what to do but FAIL to ensure they know how. Fight is the last option presented in this case, but should it be? Neither running nor hiding protects the children.
It's all very nice, I hope you touch the subject of school carry during these trainings and that teachers/staff should either carry or at least work on legalizing carry if illegal in their State. The last thing you want is trainees thinking that this is a good solution and that carrying is not necessary.
I must admit I was skeptic reading the title and seeing the thumbnail picture, but after watching this.. "Jeee.. This might actually work!" Great job as always, TR guys! Thx
First tool is to use both legs. Bend both legs slightly. Put your dominate leg about three feet behind your other leg. Tighten up your hamstrings and start to sprint. ... Sprint away from the shooter! Run! Run B! Run as fast as you can!!!
Keep in mind. Most of these assailants will have a side arm. A Glock on their hip or back. So if you go for the rifle and arms, make sure to have help or be on the lookout for them dropping the right hand down for the side arm to end you. All of these guys have multiple weapons and they would for sure have that side arm loaded and ready, especially if they are ex military, it's ingrained in them to have side arm ready when main weapon is compromised. Have help, stabilize that right arm immediately after rifle is locked in bear hug. Or have someone go for that side weapon when you go for bear hug. And just maybe, maybe you got a shot. It's terrible we have to even talk about this. Very Sad.
I don’t like not controlling an elbow as I zip tie ( cinch up on that wrist) I like to have one arm above and use one to cinch it up . During our live it seems Too easy to slip out for those not trained . I’m open to thoughts …
Don't get me wrong, these techniques are better than doing nothing. In either case, she most likely would have gotten shot. A active shooter isn't going to pause between shots. The best take away is that the moment of opportunity is going to be extremely small and it's like she said, go all in and hard if you go at all.
The sound was a lot better that time nice job good work good tips just about anybody could do that just need a pair of balls to to grab the dude and you be in pretty good shape. Also he can’t get his arms out to grab another weapon / sidearm. You can just hold them till somebody gets there. Hopefully at that point a lot of people will be diving on the dude
This only works if a) there is only 1 active shooter, and b) the active shooter doesn't have a secondary weapon. Important for people to consider before taking action.
I have a question… not for the rifle, for the handgun: why don’t you teach pulling up or down away from the trigger finger? The arm will discharge and break the finger. That causes pain and may cause the aggressor to lose control. Just curious.
A sharp folding knife for the defender would come in handy I think to puncture the attacker once firearm arm is held down - but of course, I've never actually done this despite thinking about reacting to an attacker with a gun - great video and thank you
Good move but similar to making a great Allen Iverson type ankle breaking crossover but not scoring. You have to control the WEAPON no matter what! Add a roll to disarm the gun or knife etc. Other wise the enemy combative may get up, un-jam the weapon & continue firing. Always use COMMON SENSE
Do you have any ideas of what can be used as a weapon or projectile in a place of business or hospital while we are all hiding waiting one shooter or police (or any person with a gun that isn’t the shooter)? Obviously I work in a place that doesn’t allow me to protect myself :( & carry.
First, I would carry concealed. Second, look into the Taser Pulse. It stuns for 30 seconds instead of 5 seconds that the police version do. Third, sit baseball bats everywhere. If you add a glove and ball, no one will question the bat being there.
This technique is all about disarming the bad guy's those who's carry the weapons like knives & guns it depends on which did go into the school's, bar & shopping mall's incase situations happene all around your life.
i wish a saw this before yesterday. someone threatened to shoot me multiple times because i asked him to drive around a parked car. He got in my face while i was being super calm and started yelling. "touch me so i can shoot you". all i could focus on was his hands to make sure he wasnt reaching for a gun. Im thankful i was able to walk away. even after i did he ran in front of me so i couldnt walk away and got chest to chest with me and said again "touch me so i can shoot you". Needless to say. Ill be getting a conceal carry. I cant trust these irresponsible gun owners. He was so willing to escalate the situation just so he could say he was allowed to shoot me. And if you are wondering. Yes i am pressing chrages. Thank god its all on camera!. Be nice people.
This is similar to disabling someone with a knife. With a knife, YOU ARE GOING TO BE CUT, or in this case, YOU ARE GOING TO GET HURT, possibly shot. What's more concerning, a round in the shoulder/arm or a room full of victims?
@@c.rosstaylor1428 it seems like with pistol u gonna get shot in the shoulder and u wont be able to put a hand in the chamber when u are in the real situation.pistol disarming didnt look legit sorry

Thanks guys. This video shows that the average person has the ability to change the outcome of a very bad situation.

This is great. It shifts people's perceptions of having to develop and refine empty handed skills to gross motor skills and simple actions. Thanks.

It's been over 10 years since I have seen Ryan. Know the man really well. Really great guy. Would love it if you could have him back sometime.

Truly wonderful video on this subject matter. Awesome to see this collab as well.
Probably the best defense I've seen for this
Thanks for a base line technique, now some fine tuning.

Run- hide- fight fight fight fight-- alll you can do it teach a hip/ shoulder or drive to jam the muzzle into the dirt
can anyone identify the tactical pants the instructor is wearing? Brand, colour?
Just a guess, but they look like Tru Spec 24/7 Expedition pants in coyote brown.

So don’t even try? Yep, your family is screwed... stand behind someone with balls and suck your thumb.
