I had long hair most all my life. When I say long I mean shoulder length or a little past. I found that most of the time it was pulled back or up.I realized what is the point in having long hair when I very rarely wore it down So I cut short. Close to the style you suggest.I love it I can style it so many different ways with much less work.I am 70.A few years ago I was down because of the gray hair wrinkles and the whole getting old thing. My husband looked at me and said every age has its beauty .You are beautiful and will only get more beautiful .So I say looking younger is how you feel not what you see in the mirror.Another great adventure.
Aging is much easier when you have a husband or partner who thinks you're beautiful just as you are. A VERY different experience when you're single and don't attract men anymore.
Agreed. I look at photos of my granny who lived to 98 and loved ballroom dancing up until months before she passed away. Anyway her photos of her bridal self charming and then with young children in full fruitfulness then another image of her in her middle years self assured and strong then in her latter decades with beautiful blue eyes and gorgeous fresh skin if a little crinkly smiling with all the warmth only she ever had. Beauty is for all ages and it starts inside and with a little creativity on the outer packaging we can all look wonderful 😊
The first style just made her whole face light up! She had features I didn’t even notice before. Beautiful lady and I might add her silver hair is gorgeous!
It makes so much sense!! I have a rounding face. I'm 72 years old. I have a gorgeous silver colored hair with natural lowlights. Right now I'm wearing my hair in a bun. Next week--layers,baby!!
great idea for a series! so helpful that you get a chance to talk through the options for your virtual client and show by photoshopping. Also your take on ‘youthful’ and going short. Your content definitely ‘does not suck’
Thank you so much for that! I really appreciate the support. And I think I’m really gonna like this serious as well. It was a little uncomfortable to think about since I really don’t want to come across like I’m bashing people but I think it can be really helpful. I’m really glad you liked it.
@@justinhickox I agree. It can be a tricky subject, but just keep being completely confident and get your point across. Those who get it will appreciate your information. I am aging and am exploring possible hair changes. This series will be perfect. Could you try to get the most common face shapes and hair types please. Thank you.
This was a great video! You have such an artistic, creative eye and such an eloquent manner of expressing your opinions. You nailed it when you suggested that feeling great about your hair (or appearance in general) translates into literally radiating a vibrance that is attractive. Thank you for your inspiration!
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you are liking the videos! And I think that’s such a huge point, confidence is such a big deal and it changes everything to me. Thank you for the support!
People who get hung up on how “looking more youthful” sounds, should replace “youthful” with “healthy, happy, vibrant.” I agree with you, and at the same time I understand how people can become fixated on the word youthful. I’m 47, I’m not trying to look younger, but I damn sure wanna look vibrant 😊
This. At this age I don't long for "youthful" look, but those things you mentioned. Yes I want to look good and fresh, but no use for longing for "youth", it's like being a grown, fabulous woman is not valuable.
Wait till you're in your 60's. I looked great in my 40's, but 60 has been a little shock. Sadly, nobody can prepare you for the reality in advance, but you'll see.
@@slkais329 im 55 and i still look like im in my thirties. if i had healthcare id be doing even better. not having healthcare has aged me more than anything over the past five years. still i have no interest in looking youthful. graceful, vibrant, joyous, maybe.
Makes so much sense to me. We can’t pretend that our appearance doesn’t matter. You wouldn’t go into a job interview with your sweats on and hair all matted! I personally want to look my best at whatever age I am. I like both styles on her, maybe the longer version first and work into the shorter later. The shorter one really doesn’t look so short either.
You are spot on Julie, being youthful to me at 58 isn’t a physical thing it’s a mental state of mind - these are the best years of my life and I’m not going to be placed into a box because of my age! I’m not going to have any fillers or Botox either, but I’m always going to try to look the best I can because the confidence that gives me is worth gold and I deserve it ✨
Thank you so much! I will definitely do more of these. It was definitely a little uneasy at first as I don’t want people to think I’m bashing them but I really do think they can be helpful.
I liked the short hair style on the model. It had a young, spunky look to it, and so did the model. I also liked the subscribers hair style, but I see your point. The subscribers hair had beautiful texture, thickness, and color, but it was a more modest, older looking style. This video was educational, and allowed me to see things in a different way. Also, your scenery is drop dead gorgeous!
I’m 2 years into growing my hair back from losin it to treatment. I’m diggin that short style, I’m thinking of keeping my hair short, way easier upkeep. I think that style will go good on me. Thanks for the videos
Great series idea. I had to address my stylist that I want to sit in her chair and ask questions or have her assess my hair etc. she would just send me in the back for a wash and we would talk after. I got annoyed and it all came out at once when I addressed how I was feeling. Give me more than just a quick cut and out the door like those chain salons. Told her flat out.
Love this series! Im always open to fresh ideas to rejuvenate hair styles. Looking youthful is not a bad thing. The key is to feel energized for our age. Justin is helping us feel the best at ANY age. Thank you Justin!
I like change. Some people fear change. I like my hair short and long, layers and one length. I like to look my best. A great cut and color is like wearing great fitting clothing that is tailored just for you. It gives me loads of confidence and my energy is lifted and I project my happiness with myself onto others.
Both hairstyles are a innovative change, from the static "hair helmet" she's currently wearing. The layering and movement in both styles you suggested, really help introduce some vibrancy into her hair, capture that youthfulness you defined here. She's blessed with super thick, healthy hair and an amazing color. Your styling plays to those two strengths. Great choices, well done! 🌸
I just went from shoulder blade to long pixie in length thanks to watching you! I love it! It actually takes me less time to fix each day than it did brushing and putting my long hair up into a bun/braiding before bed/etc....
You are brilliant! And you don’t have to explain yourself to those idiots that challenge you about “embracing aging”. We can’t control aging but we can control how we maintain our confidence, attitude and outlook as we age. Happy to be a new subscriber.
She's very beautiful in whatever cut she would choose, I REALLY LOVED the more layers look on her! It made her look so vibrant and happy! I can't imagine going quite as short as the last one on myself, but I bet she would look great with that as well! By the way, your videos DO NOT SUCK!! 😉
Embracing Youthful and taking care of myself. Yes. No matter what my age. You are a supportive man to women of all ages. It’s not about age and you are very clear about that. Thank you.
You are absolutely right - lets embrace our age and look the absolute best - vivacious brilliant and radiant! I love the short hair you propose for your model. Thank you for your inspiring videos.
I agree with not trying to look younger, but more youthful. I'm 63 graying and have mobility issues, yet I care about the way I look and want to look the best i can for my age. Thank you for your videos and taking us along on your wonderful hikes.

I really like both styles, I think the shorter style would be easier to manage. I've a small question that I'd love for you to answer if you can please and thats when was "fringe" changed to "Bangs" please?? Yes I could google it but I'd like to ask you. Thank you for your input, if I'm brave enough I might send in my hair mistakes for you to look at for the channel. 😀😀
😬 eeekkk but i need help. pcos caused weight, face chub, and thinning at crown and now my hairline. i tried wig, way to hot in texas. i tend to wear messy bun to cover and dark brown dry shampoo to cover the sides. i'm 35... looking older. Love the 1st pic!
I think people are just stuck on the word youthful. Maybe you should drop that word and change it to more attractive, or enhance your best features. It might stop the defensive comments and you won’t have to explain it so much.
Oh wow just what I need.I live in France and my French husband is 12 years younger than me. He encouraged me to let my natural colour grow out .....it's a lovely silver white I suppose but some days I feel ancient like I've joined some kind of white hair club. I so need a lovely style I will definitely send my photo .....I also wear glasses.
Love love the short hair!! I had longer hair and found myself putting it in a pony tail more time than letting it down. Having it short has been a game changer.
Love it when you throw in a curve ball and show us something totally unexpected. It's fun to see the contrast and how it still works. Looking forward to learning more and seeing the beauty of your subscriber models shine.
I love this new type of segment. I like the short style best. I agree with your interpretation of “youthful” which embraces “fresh”, “confident”, “the best look for you”, no matter what your age. I have an 89 year old neighbor. She walks her little rescue dog each day. She has a salt & pepper layered short cut. She looks 15 years younger than her age. No blue haired, perm set style for her!
Awesome work. She looks (or would look) fantastic in both hairstyles. When I saw the first style, I just thought, so much better! Younger was not my first thought, though that is a by-product. Her smile looks bigger, she just looks brighter. And so, more youthful. You should change your name to The Logical Hairstylist. Love your logic. :)
I love the longer hair with the waves and fullness - very flattering and vibrant. If Avivit wants to go shorter I think she would likely look stunning in that short style as well. How fortunate that she has two wonderful options, depending on whether she wants to stay with a longer look or go short. Your ideas and explaining your thinking are really helpful, thank you Justin. I would love to come to Portland one day and have you style my hair.
Great video! Way to knock out a touchy subject. I like both the short and the medium bob on this beautiful model. I have fine hair and one thing I've noticed over the years (I'm 49yr) is that layering works wonders on my hair but texturing with thinning shears doesn't. It leaves me frizzy looking even with straight hair. I appreciate your advice it helps with subtle tweaks to optimize the look of any cut ✂️. Best to you and your beautiful family
After a long Bob for seemingly 100 years I opted for a short cut. What a difference. It took 10 years off me. This cut you describe is very flattering. Gonna share with my stylist thank you.
A great hair style is like a "face lift". It's always best to stay natural but the right style for you can make you look more vibrant, lifted and youthful. I'm almost 60 and I do like long hair but occasionally I go short because it is less maintenance.
So glad that I found your series. I’m 63 and newly grey. I love the second hairstyle, have had the pixie- loved it too, but looking for something a tiny bit longer. This might just be the look and length for me. Thanks.
I love your chat about looking more youthful. It makes complete sense and I never thought about it that way. Sometimes I am hard on myself because I think look old. But after listening to you, having confidence when it’s a good hair day or I try a new style makes me feel better and lighter and therefore feeling more youthful. Love that! Thank you for that insight and I will see “looking youthful” differently from now on. You just made my day! ❤️
That’s great advice. Exploring what flatters the client(whether they realize it or not), their comfort level and confidence will automatically make them look (and feel) better, be that pretty, youthful, healthy, glowing,
Hello from Michigan. Thank u for this episode. I went out and got my hair cut like the shoulder length version. It was just what I needed with my textured, wavy, early 40’s hair needed. Great example and thanks to the lovely model, u r beautiful!
Omg so I found your videos and started watching and realized how on point you were about the aging, etc. I call my stylist friend and she cut my hair like I wanted and it’s crazy she cut it just like you did in one of your videos exactly the same. I didn’t even tell her about your videos I just send her a pic of what I was looking for. Love your videos. I learn so much.
Another great video! You are right on about looking more youthful as opposed to looking younger. I think this beautiful lady would look great in the shorter style!
You found a great photo of someone who looked like your viewer. I love the short option. The cut has movement, is complementary to the face shape. It gives a "lightness" to her face. If she is uncomfortable with the short style option #1 is a good look, almost as good as the shorter cut. It could also work as a transition to the shorter cut if your viewer has never tried a short style. Her original style does give an older appearance, maybe even older than she is. Your definition of youthful compared to younger is a good one. As a Nurse I have seen very young patients appear older because the illness or injury drained their natural energy. The observations of a long career seems to back up your definition Thank you for helping with your clear directions on how to achieve the results you suggest.
I agree with your comment, “why is that person seeking out a video on more youthful or complimentary hairstyles?” Please keep you videos coming. I am 67, and just made a major change to my hairstyle due to your videos. It’s not radical but I went from long,(where I basically had it in a pony or had to set it. To a little above shoulder length. Thank you, please keep the videos coming!!
Generally I like to wear my hair short. However, my fine, wavy hair frizzes very quickly. Frizzy short hair is definitely NOT youthful-looking. I have tried many products and styling techniques (including flat ironing) to combat humidity and frizz. Still my smooth hair rarely lasts all day, especially in summer or on rainy days. Do you suggest Brazilian Blowout or another straightening treatment?
@@roseanne3163 I have thin fine hair that normally makes tight curls when wet. When blowed out or ironed it looks good. (the grey hair just goes it's own way and the new ones just stands at attention) If I have a heat flash, my hair just expands. After the botox this all stopped. My hair is shiny, healthy looking and I look good all the time. It has not effect om my scap I do the treatment every 3 months
I love both options. She could start with the first and move on to the short cut when she feels ready. I'm finally getting my butt-length hair cut on Tuesday at a local Aveda salon that was listed on the site you recommended for top-rated stylists. I had a consult and we agreed on my ideas. I'll start shoulder length and go shorter as the mood strikes. Thanks for all your excellent advice in your videos. You helped give me the mental push I needed to get started.
omg three years ago i had a short asymmmetrical cut that was about an inch long on one side. since pandemic i can sit on my braids right now. kinda wondering what to do now. im so used to the braids but its like.. too long. but i have scars on my face, this might be an interesting video, i try really hard to use my hair to detract from and soften the scars but its super hard cause theyre large and rigtht between my eyes. i cant do bangs that well cause my hair sweeps back... i used to get so many compliments on my gorgous long curly hair before the scars. now my hair only exists to cover scars and it doesnt do it well at all. so yeah none of it makes me feel good. i wish i could cut off that part of my face
Wonderful series. I watched the last one first and worked back to week 1. I’ve let my hair grow to one length; but I need layers. My hair is now the longest it’s been in 30+ years. Thanks to COVID, had to let it grow. I’ve changed hair stylist and have only been 3 times. So you have given me some wonderful ideas. A long BOB with layers for movement. I’ll think about the long curtain bangs, so I am able to pull my hair back. Awesome series; as are all of your videos. Thanks so much for teaching and empowering women to to be an active participant with their hair!
I love your vibe and format! I’m partial to the shorter style suggestion, it’s a little hard to transfer it in my mind because the two women look quite different but it’s a super cute haircut.
Loved this episode, Justin! Because of my hair issues (a mix of curls and waves along with a bushiness) when young I always kept my hair short. As I got much older I also fought letting it go gray. You're so on target because at 70 I have even more confidence and I let it go white/silver or whatever it is. It's also longer and I want to find someone who can work with this and deal with my thinning and fine hair. In this instance I love the short hair! I think it would be perfect for her!
I love the playful short hair option. I can’t wait to see more round face short hair choices! And your description of what you’re doing here with the scenarios was very uplifting, comprehensive and clear. 👍Might be good to have that segment pinned to the top of your video list. However, haters gonna hate. 😫
I completely agree, Justin. Option #1 would be an easy and immediate transformation. So youthful and current. I can also see Option #2, especially the first image. Looks stylish yet carefree. Great model selection and video!
I completely see what you meant about having layers and how the current style was pulling her face down. I have had that before. I love the short look you suggested, but we typically see younger women wearing short hair. Seeing older women wearing short updated styles is very rare, so it is harder (for me, at least) to be able to picture short styles on older women. That fact does make it very frustrating (again, for me), because I want to consider a short option! Having hair inches below my shoulders for many years has made it hard to actually transition. I am working on it. However, thank you for your videos; they are really helpful, and I love your hikes and views!
What an AWESOME VIDEO! I LOVED the longer, layered look on her. It would look GORGEOUS ON HER! Kudos to her for helping us all out, as this video was super helpful. So thank you to the BOTH of you. PS your views DEFINITELY do not suck, and make your videos so interesting! ❤
Hi Justin, your comments about feeling more confident with the right hairstyle was right on. Hubby has always love longer hair and I tried but he finally realized that when my hair is shorter & more sassy I am a totally different person. (Picture Is not current ) Ok real reason for comment - you should visit t he head of Jack creek near Camp Sherman. Altho it doesn’t have long distant panoramic views it is wonderful. The creek comes out of a hole in the ground similar to the Metolious Keep up the great videos/scenery!!
Yes, your explanation of youthful makes perfect sense!! If people still have a problem with that word I suggest "flattering." I'm 72 with long hair and I'm so torn with what to do. I have a horse and ride with a helmet. If I go short love that photo you show) I'll have hemet head all day. Hmmm. But my pony tail really doesn't look good.
Great point! And I’m glad that made sense to you. I appreciate the support. It’s really tough to say as both styles for you sound like they have pros and cons. With that said, I think the question would be how do you wear your hair most often, up or down. That might help lien you in one direction or the other I guess.
I'm 71 & have shoulder length hair when uncurled. I don't know what's with women cutting their hair short as they get older. I think short hair ages women.
I like the longer style as well as the short style. The shorter style is edgier & I think it presents a variety of styling options. You have given me some ideas about styling my own hair rather than the ‘safe’ style I current,y have!
I want to look fresh and relevant and vibrant. And I’m 67 and quite realistic. Your tutorials on face shape and the logic of framing the face in the best possible way is very valuable. Thank you for your support of beauty at all age.
Both options are lovely, and a smaller change at first may be easier to accept. Most importantly is how brave our model is to go public with her current style,, kudos ! I love the shorter version .
I love both options. I have fine, thin hair and struggle with getting fullness in my hair. I have had shorter hair for 30+ years and at one time tried to grow out the sides for a short bob. Well, it really added width to my face which I didn't need so went back to my pixie. I've also stopped coloring my hair and love my dark and light - so shiny. Wish I could get a critique, too, from you, Justin. Thanks for your positivity. 😊
Makes sense to me to choose a style and colour to suit the persons face & lifestyle. I’d fly across the world to have Justin style my hair if I could. Thanks Justin your very knowledgeable.
Thank you! Im 51 always had straight long hair to the waist was afraid I would end up with a round I took the plunge and had cut up yo my shoulders layered in front only..the look i received from my husband was WOW! loved it! Dont be afraid to try a cut
Hi, Justin, Seems I’m watching these out of sequence! Love, love, L-O-V-E the suggestions you offer for Avivit. This is your first in the series? Doesn’t she have the most striking highlighting and coloring? Her own style, while very together, as you say, does seem to re-emphasize a rectangular look. When I saw the scrumptious, wide layering, it was like doing a double-take. Where did the rectangle go? Just goes to show that magic ‘contrast’ makes things interesting, softening and balancing out features that might need softening. After all, hair is the ‘frame’ for the picture ‘face’. We want the frame, together with face, to create the best, most flattering vision… GREAT style. Would love to see if Avivit adopts it. And the Curve ball! As usual (?), is shorter. But not edgy! Where it seems I usually don’t go for this suggestion, in Avivit’s case - despite having to only imagine it - I can so envision this one, truly, being a winner! Avivit has thicker hair which I think really suits this cut for dimension, features and edge. The cut cut could really work well with the thicker texture. And if she’s petite, as she seems, the style might actually nail it to a wow - truly being a winner. I can see the more subtle curves here, again, balancing, contrasting and softening feature lines… Love them both! Thank you! AND really appreciate the scenery. The waterfalls’ look AND sounds were just wonderful! Best, Linda
I LOVE LOVE LOVE SHORT HAIR :) I used to have super long hair since I was young until about my late 20s and after I cut it into a bob I later made the move to cut it into a pixie and boy oh boy was that the start of a beautiful relationship...just like you mentioned, I have a round face which shunned me away from ever cutting it and after I cut it I FELL IN LOVE!!! IT WAS FREEDOM!!! And not having to spend so much money on hair products or waste time styling it all the time was so worth it!
This video was an eyeopener for me. I have a longer face and thought adding volume on top would make it appear even longer when in fact it lifts everything up. Im definitely taking a photo of this before & after to my stylist. Thanks Justin for this series, LOVE it!
Love your suggested styles, both of them. Pre-covid I was wearing a pixie & never thought I'd grow it out. My hair has been gray for 8 years at this time. Well Covid closed the salons, then fear of exposure let it grow. This brings me to the only negative on style #2: Maintenance. Haircut every 4-6 weeks. Now my limited budget embraces shoulder length. November was 1st trim then another in early Spring, and added layers last week. Avoiding hairdryer to keep it healthy.
Thank you Avivit for volunteering! Love your hair color. And thank you Justin! I prefer the first suggestion, but I like how you show different options. And that view is wow
I absolutely love the 2nd option. With her colouring and hair texture it would be dramatic with a number of different hairstyles options depending on her mood.
I have only recently found you... love your videos! I think this beautiful woman would look good in either hairstyle. Properly layered with a little bit of curl would look awesome. However, your short haircut was an unexpected and delightful alternative. I think she could rock the short hair.
Wow, wow, wow! Your suggestions for your volunteer were phenomenal! 🤯She looked stunning in the first pic and I would imagine on the second option too. Followed up with your thoughts on “looking more youthful” vs “looking younger”, I totally got it! The song “I can see clearly now the rain has gone” is playing in my head.☁️🌥⛅️🌤☀️
She would look great in both styles! Your comment about how you style your hair made so much sense. I'm lazy with my styling and realize I should put some attention to that. Thanks for a great video.
I agree! They’re both great options right. With that said I’m a huge fan of the shorter one as well. I don’t know her at all but for some reason looking at her photos I get the feeling that it would match her personality a little as well. It’s really tough to say though.
Loooove this video, Justin! The "model" is beautiful, the grayish hair suits her fantastic. I think both options are great, but I love the shorter style more. I can imagine she would look fresh/youthful with the second option. Looking forward to more of these videos. 😘 Sabine
Love this video. I am in my mid-40s and have gone long and short repeatedly. Right now I have long, straight, all one length, fine hair. I am over it (again). So tomorrow I am going to get my hair done almost like option 2. Except shorter in the back. I have never had my hair like that. Only really short with no movement or definition. I am looking forward to it. If I don't like it, it is only hair and will grow back so I can do something else. Thanks for the video!
Your very creative. Thanks for taking us outside. Absolutely nothing sucks about your videos. She's beautiful and both styles are something I would consider. Thanks so much for sharing your passions.
I always have short hair. Can't really wear long. I absolutely love the second look with short hair. I think she would look really good in this look. Thanks again for your videos and the views which are stunning
Both options would look great as she would look stunning. Grey hair with dark eyes are strikingly beautiful. But I prefer the shorter option. Thanks for your great content & love seeing the nature! Keep up the great work.
Not too many female hair stylists today, look at the overall face, neck, and age, of the person they are working on. Years ago, I had a stylist, and he was so fantastic. Like you, he took a lot of things into consideration, before cutting my hair in a way I asked him to. He retired, and I have not been able to find the likes of him since. Wish I lived in your neck of the woods !!!! I would love to have my hair done by such a professional, honest, and genuine person. Glad I found your channel. I'm looking at all back videos, making screen shots, and taking them to my current stylist. Hope she can duplicate some of your suggestions. I am 65, and I know I can't look 40, but I don't want to look 80 ! LOL I just want to look fresh and vibrant !!! With your suggestions, I can get there. Thanks for all you do !!!!
Your husband sounds amazing! He’s a wise man and I could not agree with him more. You found yourself a good one for sure.
Aging is much easier when you have a husband or partner who thinks you're beautiful just as you are. A VERY different experience when you're single and don't attract men anymore.
Absolutely! Well said, made me feel better about myself! ❤️
Agreed. I look at photos of my granny who lived to 98 and loved ballroom dancing up until months before she passed away. Yes ! Movement is youthful and it's easier to see movement in hair that has been well cut and consciously styled . Thanks for the video !
The first style just made her whole face light up! She had features I didn’t even notice before. Beautiful lady and I might add her silver hair is gorgeous!
I thought the same thing! It’s crazy right.
Makes me want to fly across country for a hair style and cut in your salon. Such great ideas!
Me too! I seem to have a difficult time getting the right cuts.
Me too. Do you know where he is located or the name of his salon?
Love the short
me too!!! And I'm in NC!!! :)
Where is he located .?
It makes so much sense!! I have a rounding face. I'm 72 years old. I have a gorgeous silver colored hair with natural lowlights. Right now I'm wearing my hair in a bun. Next week--layers,baby!!
Go for it Mary!
Yes, Mary!! Pls no buns.
WOW!!! You go, girl!!! :)
Your love and respect for women shines in your videos, Justin! Thank you
Thank you! I think we all need more love and respect in our lives. I’m just glad I get to promote that in my own little way.
great idea for a series! so helpful that you get a chance to talk through the options for your virtual client and show by photoshopping.

Justin, I think the longer, layered style is gorgeous. Putting myself in her place,
I'd prefer to start with that, get comfortable with it then decide if she wants to cut it shorter.
This was a great video! You have such an artistic, creative eye and such an eloquent manner of expressing your opinions. You nailed it when you suggested that feeling great about your hair (or appearance in general) translates into literally radiating a vibrance that is attractive. Thank you for your inspiration!

Wait until you hit 60
Makes so much sense to me. We can’t pretend that our appearance doesn’t matter. You wouldn’t go into a job interview with your sweats on and hair all matted! I personally want to look my best at whatever age I am. I like both styles on her, maybe the longer version first and work into the shorter later. The shorter one really doesn’t look so short either.
You are spot on Julie, being youthful to me at 58 isn’t a physical thing it’s a mental state of mind - these are the best years of my life and I’m not going to be placed into a box because of my age! I’m not going to have any fillers or Botox either, but I’m always going to try to look the best I can because the confidence that gives me is worth gold and I deserve it ✨
Brilliant. She’d look beautiful in all styles. A testament to her for taking good care of herself and to you, for your genius! Great video!
Love this subject of using subscribers and techniques!! Please do more!
100%! I couldn’t agree more. Well said.
Exactly. Changing their appearance is hard for some people. Depends on her comfort level
I love the shorter style! I call it having a fresh new look at any age.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. And I agree, it’s tough because I like both of the looks on her so much.
I like both hairstyles on her also! But I love the short one. 😉 It's cute, carefree and very youthful looking!! ❤
The young girl looks very beautifully with short but wouldn't look as nice on the older women
Too much talking and not
Getting to the point.
Embracing Youthful and taking care of myself. Yes. No matter what my age. You are a supportive man to women of all ages. It’s not about age and you are very clear about that. Thank you.
Avivit is beautiful, I love the first cut with the waves. Looks so natural and fresh.

It’s so nice of you to do this with your subscribers! I haven’t loved my hair since 1989 so I’m thinking about submitting my photos.
Loved this latest vlog :-) would really be interested in seeing you address haircuts for fine thin hair.
Dear Justin ,you are an absolute treasure.Am in the UK,took a clip to my hairdresser and asked for something which has made such a difference.THANKS!
Thank you so much! And that’s such a great name! I’ll have to figure out something around that idea! I appreciate it.
Love this idea. I like the long style on her. She looked so vibrant with it.
The best channel for understanding the CHANGE and make the best of it, priceless tips. Thanks
I love that you help us to look more youthful/ prettier! Most women love that!!!! 💖
Love this and thank you for pointing out how the waves soften her look; I think that could also help me. Beautiful lady and scenery!
Thank you! I appreciate that. And yes looking more useful due to an uplift and confidence is the main point I think for me.
The observations of a long career seems to back up your definition
Thank you for helping with your clear directions on how to achieve the results you suggest.
I agree with your comment, “why is that person seeking out a video on more youthful or complimentary hairstyles?”
Please keep you videos coming.
I can relate to that. At 57 I did my first hair botox! I now dress my hair every day. Love it. I don't know why I never did it before
@@lynnlewis675 hair Botox? Tell me more!
It has not effect om my scap
I do the treatment every 3 months
Justin, what an excellent point- younger vs. youthful! I had to listen 2x- it makes perfect sense! Thanks
Short hair looks sleek and does bring youth if it’s done right. I wish more hair stylists would be more like your salon. ❤️❤️❤️
I totally agree! And that’s awesome. I’m so glad I could give you some ideas. Can’t wait to hear what you decide to do.
@@justinhickox First step will be try to style it as shown in the longer cut. My hair is long enough to try it. Were layers cut in her hair?
I want to look fresh and relevant and vibrant. And I’m 67 and quite realistic. Your tutorials on face shape and the logic of framing the face in the best possible way is very valuable. Thank you for your support of beauty at all age.
Both options are lovely, and a smaller change at first may be easier to accept. Most importantly is how brave our model is to go public with her current style,, kudos ! I love the shorter version .
So great. So easy to understand. Love that you get to the point. Love the non-sucky views. Love you!
LOL! “Non-sucky “I love that! LOL thank you so much. I appreciate the support.
I find your comments and opinions so respectful! I love these videos!❤️
Hi John. I totally agree with you about looking youthful versus younger. I believe everyone wants to be their best no matter what age we are ☺️
Thank you Avivat for volunteering for the video! You are beautiful! Thank you Justin for the wonderful and insightful video! Love it!
Makes sense to me to choose a style and colour to suit the persons face & lifestyle. I’d fly across the world to have Justin style my hair if I could. Thanks Justin your very knowledgeable.
Oh boy, the short, whimsical option would be amazing!! With Avivit's gorgeous face shape: a total winner!
Great video! Love the new hairstyles you picked for this beautiful woman.
Thank you! Im 51 always had straight long hair to the waist was afraid I would end up with a round I took the plunge and had cut up yo my shoulders layered in front only..the look i received from my husband was WOW! loved it! Dont be afraid to try a cut
Hi, Justin,
Seems I’m watching these out of sequence!
We want the frame, together with face, to create the best, most flattering vision…
GREAT style.
I can see the more subtle curves here, again, balancing, contrasting and softening feature lines…
Love them both! Thank you! AND really appreciate the scenery. The waterfalls’ look AND sounds were just wonderful!
Best,
Linda
New to following you and absolutely love this series, along with your amazing backdrops. Thank you for sharing your passion so many can benefit.
Thank you Avivit for volunteering! Love your hair color. And thank you Justin! I prefer the first suggestion, but I like how you show different options. And that view is wow
I liked both. Do you ever do a next video showing the before and after of what they chose to do?
Loved the water fall
Great series! Thank you for the ideas… I lean towards the 1st style. I enjoy the versatility longer hair provides. I love the grays too! 🙂
Love that short hair! Why can’t I get my stylist to do that? I’ve been presenting similar haircuts but does not turn out
She would look great in both styles! Your comment about how you style your hair made so much sense. I'm lazy with my styling and realize I should put some attention to that. Thanks for a great video.
Love both cuts on her!!!!!! The shorter is much more youthful !!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
😘 Sabine
I like the short cut. She looks great. I wish you could tell me what my hair needs!!
I Totally I totally agree! Blessings for both of You!
I really agree...I think the short suggestion would really improve the look. Great idea!! Thank you.
Thank you Justin...I showed your photo of the short style to my stylist and it definitely lifted my aging face. Love your tips. Joan from Ireland 🇮🇪
Your very creative. Thanks for taking us outside. Absolutely nothing sucks about your videos. She's beautiful and both styles are something I would consider. Thanks so much for sharing your passions.
Omg. You are brilliant! I love number one but I see where you are going with look number 2. Brilliant!!!
Fascinating. I think you are spot on. Thank you for sharing your expertise!!!
I always have short hair. Can't really wear long. I absolutely love the second look with short hair. I think she would look really good in this look. Thanks again for your videos and the views which are stunning
I like the option 1 ❤
