I was going through New Mexico on 08/14/2023 and got passed by a truck pulling a trailer hauling a 1972 Oldsmobile station wagon. He was heading east on I-40. Wish I could have gotten some pictures.

@Sleeperdude they do amazing for the time they spend together. I really think that you should wash plan b. I have a special place in my heart for the wagons and big cars.
My family’s growing up had a Vista cruiser and later a Ford galaxy 500 station wagon. We traveled, camped and fished using them, we got a tent trailer and never stayed in motels. Thank you so much for taking me along on this trip, so many fond memories are being made by doing this! I’m 61 and My kids now in their 30 still remember the trips I took them on in a Ford van doing the same. Thanks so much again!!!

Thanx for taking me along with you. I made that trip back in 83 on a Yamaha 1100 Midnight Special and you have brought back some great memories. You're a great family. Keep fighting the good fight.
Thank you for taking us along with you. I never knew I really wanted to visit Tombstone until now. I am glad your children let you enjoy yourself Josh.
Very cool! I’m 63 and still remember the road trip vacations I took with my family back in the 60s and 70s The best one was a whole big group of family members visiting the Grand Canyon. Hotels and restaurants all the way, so much fun for my myself and my cousins 😊

Before 911 that inspection station was manned by a single 19 year old private. he said "Are you an American Citizen ?" I said "Yes" and he said in a high pitched cracking voice "Are you sure? " those were the days.
Those weren't all cameras. One is a IR camera that can detect hidden people in a vehicle. I believe they have some kind of backscatter device too. The one with the huge lens on it. I don't know how it "sees" through metal though. They really don't need to stop you now. They can see into and through all vehicles that go through.
Josh, I’m not sure y’all are going to be able to have another vacation as good as this one 😂😂 Y’all might be the closest thing to the Griswalds and have to take your next vacation in Europe
My family made the trip from Eastern Oklahoma to California in 1957 and again in 1963 along old route 66. All the abandoned stations, motels and suvenier shops were still open then and there were giant jack rabbits in Arizona with signs all along advertising them.
This brought back so many memories. I'm 58, and in July & August 1976, my grandfather took me and my cousin on a trip out there in a 1970 Ford econoline van. The van was set up with seats in the back that converted to twin beds, and there was a hammock that suspended across the front seats. No air conditioning, 3 speed on the column. We were gone for 5 weeks and camped every night in a different city except for the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. We spent 2 nights in both places. Believe me, your kids will remember this trip for the rest of their lives!

Such a wonderful trip you all are on. And the Olds wagon seems to be taking all the miles in stride. Highway cruising was what that automobile was built for. I can't believe you guys only paid $2700 for it. My wife and I have family that live on a small horse ranch not far from the Worlds Largest Pistachio you all saw. They live near the small town of Tularosa (which you may have driven through). We went to visit them for the first time two years ago and we just fell in love with the country, as well as the people we met. Good Luck, Happy Motoring, and have a safe trip back home .

I'm glad you enjoyed our little town of Tombstone, I didn't see you but I did see your wagon parked in the parking lot. The large cactus you saw are called Saguaro cactus. Yep, you drove through during our worst heat wave in about 30 years LOL. Fantastic episode.
As the family drive by all those abandoned sheds, houses, barns, motels, gas stations I try to imagine the people's dreams when they first bought the land and built those structures. Whomever they were they worked very hard, invested every dime they had in a quest to fulfill a dream. They tried,, they really tried but whatever of lifes hardships caused them to pack up and leave, to abandon their dreams and move on to who knows where to try and survive with what little they had left. Did they try again somewhere else? I like to think because they all are or were brave and adventurous some did achieve their dream. Many just gave up and disappeared into the distance never to be heard from again.
@@Sleeperdude you're welcome! I hope that the rest of your family vacation goes well and that you all make it back home safely. And I love the wagon! It's awesome! You all take care and I look forward to seeing the next episode!! And I absolutely love the channel. Sending love from Michigan!
Just want to say thank you for taking us with ya'll. It's cool to see some of those places, and also to see ya'll matching pictures! I was so waited to see this video pop up... I've been waiting! I'm a trucker, and when I shutdown for the day, I just had to stay up late to watch it. May God continue to ride with ya'll the rest of the trip!
Awesome video as always! This series has brought back memories of daddy's plymouth station wagon that we went to Florida in. He tied all our stuff on top in the luggage rack and on one trip it started flying off the top going down the road. I personally loved the back seat and spent many hours there. My dad has been very sick and I found a picture of the wagon and I got it where he can see it. Please keep doing what you are doing as there is a higher power directing your paths,Ralph
Josh I bet anything your dad says Ralphie is just like you were at his age. You two both crack me up with your humor. I really enjoyed both road trip videos and will watch them back to back soon. 😊
1:45:44 josh, that low coolant light is caused by the sensor going bad. Om the radiator about 2-3 inches below the cap is a small black box with 2 or 3 wires coming out. You fan unplug it and the light will stay off. How it works is there are 2 contacts inside, and when they are covered by coolant the switch is open and the light is off. If its gets uncovered by low coolant then it closes and turns on the light. Usually scale builds up on it, throwing it off.
My husband and I are seniors (84 and79) watch all your videos and enjoy all of them. We really like your family videos that show all of your family loving a real family trip. The kids are NOT ON CELL PHONES……..that is refreshing! They are really kids and seems to get along well. Making special memories will live with them forever and will pass it along to their future children. It’s sooooo good to see! Can’t wait for the Grand Canyon video because we have never been there and we would like to visit the Canyon through your family’s eyes. So keep up the great work! We are watching for the next video👍Thank you The Schades
I swear to God when I am at my lowest I watch one of your videos and it brings a huge smile to my face. What an awesome family, I wish I could adopt you all, or as you would say "Yall". Keep the videos coming.
That station wagon is outstanding. Who would have thought that an aged wagon would $99,000 mi for only $2,700 would be taking you on a trip of a lifetime. You can't make this stuff up. Enjoy the rest of your trip so far it's been fabulous for us viewers.
Josh, awesome videos. Brought back a few memories with my family traveling through there, (especially Tombstone shoot out ). For future trips in station Wagon, would recommend Tinting back glass, could cut down on heat exposure. Could have tide a rope across back glass area and dried bathing suits from day before. A pack of Hot Dogs slowly roasted in back glass window for next meal or snack with a pack of Hot Dog Buns, you would have been set. Just saying. Might want to get 1 T-shirt that says "I peed in the Grand Canyon".😂
Awesome video, I live in Albuquerque and have traveled that stretch of Highway so many times and have never taken the time to stop and see all those places. I really wish you would have gone the extra 90 miles from Roswell to see Carlsbad Caverns I think you all would have really enjoyed that.
So many recreations of your family pictures is just priceless. I think we all agree that seeing Josh' having such a well deserved pretty stress free holiday. I hope that isn't a jinx.
Wow! Again Josh & Sleepdude Family! Awsome Road Trip! It Feels Like We're Right There With Yall! Excellent Road Trip! So Much To 👀 See & Do! Can't Wait To See More! Have FUN!! Snoman Says So!! ⛄️☃️
Thank you for sharing this vacation trip. The scenery is awesome to see. The dry climate is the best place to find a rust free cars and trucks for projects.
The kids are going to cherish these memories for the rest of their lives. I wish I could of had family vacations like the Sleeperdude family has. Good luck on your adventures.
Wonderful series so far. I think Squeezy is amazing with a big personality. The rest of you are pretty wonderful too. Being from Australia it has been very interesting seeing all of the places you have visited, many I have heard of, almost none I have ever seen. Thank you.
Fantastic ! We really loved watching last weeks first part of your family road trip thought I would miss the wrenchin (and the animals) but it makes a nice change to see you all relaxing having so much fun, what a lovely family you really are big ❤ from the Uk.
Prediction time: New Orleans, Roswell, Tombstone, meteor crater, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, seeing bison, Rocky Mountains, etc. "So, Squeezy, what do you remember most?" Squeezy: " A laama spit on dad."
great video.... I grew up with a 72 olds custom cruiser wagon. Since there were mom, dad and six kids we couldn't afford to travel the country. Instead, we went fishing, to other relatives for the day, and to church. Fishing galore, but for myself just like sleeperdude I never liked fishing even to this day. By the By, I stack all my bolts/nuts/screws on top of the radiator support too. This has become my favorite youtube channel since our families are so similar. Kudos to a fellow Southerner with Scottish ancestry, 3 kids, and a love for old cars.
I really appreciate that you took me with you all on this trip… I’ve experienced places that I have never been before, and it’s just amazing… thank you so much!!!!!
Love the trip video Josh, felt so sorry for Wawa. You could tell that she was so uncomfortable that she was about to cry. Can relate for sure. Can you imagine the sky at night without any light infiltrating the area? To say that Josh was excited at Tombstone would be a total understatement? LOL, Tosh has her hands full with 4 kids she is traveling with. Awesome video shots Josh, thanks for taking us along. Be safe!
Trees dont grow out there because the rain water runs off too quickly. It moves through the sandy soil, hits a layer of bedrock, and flows away. Trees need a lot of water and nutrients, and you wont find that in the desert plains.
Don’t forget to check the air pressure in your tires first thing in the morning. FYI, Costco has free air (nitrogen) stations that are open when the gas station is open. Don’t have to be a member to use the air pumps.
You and your family can make it! These times are the best of yours and theirs! The trips together, and what you do with the cars, ARE PRICELESS MOMENTS! Enjoy them and get as many memories as possible that you can! The children will hopefully do this with their children, Good luck and have fun,
My family made a 3 week trip by car in 1972 from Indiana in a brand new Pontiac towing a pop up camper. Our destination was Phoenix. We visited an uncle that owned a gold mine and panned for gold on the way to another uncle's house. We took a northern route out and a southern route back. Can't believe it was over 50 years ago and 5 people rode that far. A lot of memories are being brought up from your video. Thank you so much!
The aliens should not have moved and hidden your wallet like that after they abducted you from your hotel room while you were sleeping. Dang aliens! Aliens can be jerks. 👽
What a great video. I'm a retired truck driver of 47 years. I never really got to stop and visit. Thank you for showing me what I've been missing. Next time have the motel put in a row-a-way bed. So nobody has to sleep on the floor. When we did go on a trip I had a 35 ft. motorhome with a 35 ft. camper. Now we did stay at campgrounds. But since I did have my Mother-in-law and Father-in-law with us they didn't want to stay in the motorhome all the time...lol... so that's how I know about the rollaway bed. Well anyway love the video.. can't wait for your next adventure...God Bless You and your family 😇💖
The painted desert, petrified forest, meteor crater and grand canyon were all stops on a family vacation back in the early 70s for me when i was about Ralphy's age. Really enjoying reliving it all through your eyes. Your kids will never forget this trip and neither will you. Thanks so much for bringing us along . Enjoy it!
Your family trip in the Oldsmobile wagon to the west to learn about America is just loaded with fun and helpful for folks like me who want to do the same kind of trip on our highways and forgotten bi-ways. You're getting the real "out west" experience with the roadside attractions like the largest pistachio, baby donkey sightings, dioramas, abandoned towns, and so much more. I am thrilled to see the "ole girl" doing her very best to take you on this adventure. I've been checking YT all day every day for each installment of the Sleeperdude Western Adventure. Now, y'all need to vacation on a working dude ranch for a few days for the real cowboy experience! Yippee I oh ki-ay! I am praying about every detail on your trip for the Lord to keep you safe and give you memories you will treasure forever!!! I can't wait for the next video!

Yes it’s crazy
They say that the interstate caused the shut down of all those peoples dreams no exit ramps or on ramps from the interstate...
I'm so glad that your family vacation is going good. Can't wait for the next episode!
Thank you!!
Yes I think so
Kudos to the honest cleaning lady!!!!
For sure
I have been waiting for this vacation travel update.
Thank you
This was so fun to come along with you all! Thanks so much for sharing your vacation!
Thank you
Awesome I enjoy the road trip with the greatest family ever y'all stay blessed
This is exactly what the Dr. ordered when he said I needed to smile more!!!
tombstone was the best , but I must say the entire trip has been wonderful.
Thank you I think so too
1:45:44 josh, that low coolant light is caused by the sensor going bad.
Ok thank you I need to fix that
My husband and I are seniors (84 and79) watch all your videos and enjoy all of them.
Awesome thank you
I swear to God when I am at my lowest I watch one of your videos and it brings a huge smile to my face.
Couldn't agree more!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Awesome video, I live in Albuquerque and have traveled that stretch of Highway so many times and have never taken the time to stop and see all those places. I really wish you would have gone the extra 90 miles from Roswell to see Carlsbad Caverns I think you all would have really enjoyed that.
Yeah maybe next time
Yes! The caverns are amazing. I was wearing shorts and it was so cold my lips turned blue.
Best family vacation I’ve been on ever! Thanks for taking everyone along with you!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@Sleeperdude can not wait for the next leg of the trip!
Thanks, Sleeperdude family, for documenting your trip. Our family experienced this year’s summer vacation vicariously through you. 😊
So many recreations of your family pictures is just priceless. I think we all agree that seeing Josh' having such a well deserved pretty stress free holiday. I hope that isn't a jinx.
Thank you we enjoyed it
It's so fortunate that the meteor just missed hitting the visitor center
I wonder if that's where the last scenes of the movie "Starman" was filmed ?
Hahahaha…so lucky!
@@SailorAllanyes, it is.
Glad the hand made the trip with you 😂😂😂😂😂
I’m glad you liked it
Wow! Again Josh & Sleepdude Family! Awsome Road Trip! It Feels Like We're Right There With Yall! Excellent Road Trip! So Much To 👀 See & Do! Can't Wait To See More! Have FUN!!
Snoman Says So!!
⛄️☃️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing this vacation trip. The scenery is awesome to see. The dry climate is the best place to find a rust free cars and trucks for projects.
Thank you for watching, that’s true
The kids are going to cherish these memories for the rest of their lives. I wish I could of had family vacations like the Sleeperdude family has. Good luck on your adventures.
I hope so. Thank you
@@Sleeperdude you're welcome
Wonderful series so far. I think Squeezy is amazing with a big personality. The rest of you are pretty wonderful too. Being from Australia it has been very interesting seeing all of the places you have visited, many I have heard of, almost none I have ever seen. Thank you.
Thank you I’m glad you liked it
Fantastic ! We really loved watching last weeks first part of your family road trip thought I would miss the wrenchin (and the animals) but it makes a nice change to see you all relaxing having so much fun, what a lovely family you really are big ❤ from the Uk.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Finally! We've been checking every day. Watching right now and loving every minute. Our family has visited every stop on your trip. ❤
I did same trip with my aunt and grandma in summer of 1987.....lots of fun.... thanks for the trip down memory lane..
Oh wow that’s cool
Prediction time: New Orleans, Roswell, Tombstone, meteor crater, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, seeing bison, Rocky Mountains, etc.
"So, Squeezy, what do you remember most?"
Squeezy: " A laama spit on dad."
Hahahahaha - good one.
Ah! "Roswell" that explains Sleeperdudes high tech restores.
🤣🤣🤣🤣absolutely
great video....
Thank you for watching
Hello 👋 family nice video nice trip nice work . Rocky miss you guys 😂🙏
Thanks so much
Quoting WaWa: I hate school mascots. Who is in there? Do you want a hug? No I don't man. Step aside! LOL! WaWa is so funny!
🤣🤣🤣
Love the trip video Josh, felt so sorry for Wawa. You could tell that she was so uncomfortable that she was about to cry. Can relate for sure. Can you imagine the sky at night without any light infiltrating the area? To say that Josh was excited at Tombstone would be a total understatement? LOL, Tosh has her hands full with 4 kids she is traveling with. Awesome video shots Josh, thanks for taking us along. Be safe!
Thank you much for taking us on your trip. Making everlasting memories with your family.
Fantastic, and you still find time to reply to people's comments. An absolute gentleman, safe travels 🚙
Thank you I try my best
Trees dont grow out there because the rain water runs off too quickly. It moves through the sandy soil, hits a layer of bedrock, and flows away. Trees need a lot of water and nutrients, and you wont find that in the desert plains.
Yes
Don’t forget to check the air pressure in your tires first thing in the morning. FYI, Costco has free air (nitrogen) stations that are open when the gas station is open. Don’t have to be a member to use the air pumps.
I didn’t know they did that thanks
@@SleeperdudeI think he meant casings.
The reenactment got me,
I laughed
I cried 🎭
I'm a changed man
🤣🤣🤣🤣glad you enjoyed it
I drive a motor coach for a living but never get to stop at these places so I am enjoying seeing them with your family. Thanks for the amazing videos.
You and your family can make it! These times are the best of yours and theirs! The trips together, and what you do with the cars, ARE PRICELESS MOMENTS! Enjoy them and get as many memories as possible that you can! The children will hopefully do this with their children, Good luck and have fun,

I dont blame wa wa for not likening people in costumes when you cant see their face 😀
What you were calling a tornado is known as a whirlwind.
Ok thanks
Dust Devil is what I know them as.
I love your road trips. I feel like I’m with you and your family. I’m learning as i watch. I’m so tired when you guys get home.
Thanks so much
Squeezie is cute 😊.
She’s a mess
The aliens should not have moved and hidden your wallet like that after they abducted you from your hotel room while you were sleeping. Dang aliens! Aliens can be jerks. 👽
Exactly!!!
It would be funny if you all rode a horse through the desert with no name.
That would have been great
You mean “through the desert on a horse with no name”…right?
@@ocavant yes
I can't even begin to explain how much I am enjoying your vacation! Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
We started watching you guys when my husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s.. such a beautiful family!
