"Have you ever trained before?" Was a devious line to say right after someone breaks their arm trying to punch you. Imagine you in an NBA game and you hurt your ankle trying to guard someone, and they hit you with the "have you ever practiced playing before?"

By Giving Moro a second chance, Goku was simply respecting Merus's wishes and doing what Merus had taught him. Not comparable in the slightest to Goku giving Cell a senzu bean, especially becauase even WITH the senzu bean, Moro continued to get folded by goku. Meanwhile the senzu bean in the cell arc caused cell to beat the brakes off of Gohan, its two different situations.
