I really love this video. It brings me back to the time when I used to travel to Písek... Between Prague and České Budějovice I would probably use the faster and more convenient service via Tábor...
You are living my dream, travelling across Europe, using trains, enjoying their variety. I travelled in Germany, in first class, all the time, though first classes on trains usually are not that upgrade like on airlines, I love even the slightest changes between classes. I feel Czech republic, as not one of the biggest countries in Europe, has very nice and varied rail system. I really happy you are doing what I can't do right now, and hope going back to Europe soon to travel with trains.

Super :) při pomyšlení na tuto trať si vždy vzpomenu, jak jsem v roce, 2004/5, už si nepamatuji přesně, jel s babičkou Bezdrevem z Mostu do Budějovic, to byla teprve projížďka :D
Tohle byl trochu návrat do minulosti - v Českých Budějovicích jsem byl na vojně a cestoval jsem domů do Ostravy vlakem Radegast (R 666?) přes Havlíčkův Brod a Brno. Cesta cca 8 hodin... 😅 Ale co už. 🙂 Pěkné video. 👍
Díky moc! Radegast si už nepamatuji (nebo jsem ho nikdy neměl možnost využít), ale pamatuji si ještě Rychlíky Bezdrev, které jezdily po této trase až do Mostu.
Nice! I remember taking those BR 628 trains when they were in service in Germany, they had the 1st class section where now the silent zone is ;) It sounds weird tho that they are used as a "fast train" service

Yes, the contract was already signed in October. But there are no more details yet, I saw somewhere that the transfer to the new owner should be at the beginning of 2024.
Well, you don't have to use that, you have more options on this route and if you are going from Budweis to Prague, it doesn't make any sense to use these arriva trains, it's better to use train which is going from Linz to Prague, it's much faster and has 1st class and restaurant.
Just a little information, "fast train" in Czech doesn't mean like it's going 220 km/h or something, it's just type of train which doesn't stop in all villages. 🙂 But 3:22 looks very slow to me, when I was traveling from Budějovice to Prague with some better class train, I think it was much faster like 2 hours or something. Maybe this arriva crap can't go 160 km/h or something. 🙂 And 15 stops, that doesn't look like rychlík to me, arriva is just calling village trains "rychlík" for no reason. I don't understand why would someone use this train except they want to get to those small cities and villages between Budějovice and Prahue, but why they call it "rychlík" then?
Ano, tam měla být 1. třída, tichý oddíl nikdy nebude tichý.. S tou klimatizací je to složitější, Arriva nainstalovala zkušebně klimatizaci do 4 jednotek, ale ministerstvo dopravy jako objednavatel rychlíků nechtěl přistoupit na navýšení ceny.
Ono to je způsobené hlavně objednávkou ministerstva, kde byly nízké požadavky a hrálo se na cenu, takže uspěla Arriva s rekonstruovanými regionálními jednotkami z Německa.. a když Arriva nabídla (a na své náklady instalovala do několika jednotek) klimatizaci, tak už ministerstvo nechtělo přispět. Za mě prostě Rychlík je lokomotiva s vozy a nebo nějaká jednotka kde je i 1. třída.

@@Pidalin Jezdíval jsem s tím ze Zlivi do Berouna a na téhle trase je to i při těch všech zastávkách skoro stejně rychlé jako auto. Ale ta jednotka už není na tyhle vzdálenosti moc pohodlná.
Whatever they say, I like these DMUs. If do they fit fast service? This is a question of the interior. I still remember our.DMUs class 840, freshly from the shop, serving semi-fast services between region centres, however regional purpose vehicles. The 628 ones are familiar from the govt competition public services on the line Bratislava - Komárno, served by RegioJet SK. The silent zone... we still remember the times, the air travel was exclusive, white collar, gentleman behaviour. The train journey used to be the same, people had to have manners, nice outfits and culture. Fun fact, there is not possible to buy a 1st class ticket for children under 10 years of age. But, in my opinion and experiences, children sometimes behave much better, than adults. Sometimes happened some old sack (my grandad called aged women like this) on her phone in the first class the whole 50 minutes trip... because she got it for free, +1€ the EC extra and 2,40€ the difference of the classes... the regional.train is 4,80€, they, of course, will use those trains... but behave, like a village pub unemployed riff-raffs.
This is because this train serves cities located on local lines. I also wrote in the video that between České Budějovice and Prague you can use direct InterCity/EuroCity trains with a journey time of about 1h40m. These trains run along the main corridor.
Arriva is calling it "rychlík" for no reason, you can pick better class train which stops almost nowhere and it finishes around 2 hours. I think these trains from arriva can't go even 160 km/h.
Určitě bude požadavek na klimatizaci a možná i nové jednotky.. Na R26 se říkalo, že by měly být nějaké hybridní jednotky, protože jsou tam 2 úseky co se jedou pod dráty.

Díky za zhlédnutí! To nádraží opravdu prokouklo. Jinak ta trať je původní trasa Rychlíku Bezdrev, když ještě jezdil z Mostu do Českých Budějovic :-)

Super, tak to jsme jezdili stejným vlakem stejnou trasu, já měl v Jižních Čechách babičku a jezdili jsme Bezdrevem na prázdniny :-)

My favourite regional train unit in Germany. But I am not really sure if it is the besdt choice for long distance trains.

Dát místo tichého oddílu první třídu, dovybavit zbytek jednotek klimatizací a asi by to stačilo i na kratší rychlíky.
Ano, tam měla být 1. třída, tichý oddíl nikdy nebude tichý.. S tou klimatizací je to složitější, Arriva nainstalovala zkušebně klimatizaci do 4 jednotek, ale ministerstvo dopravy jako objednavatel rychlíků nechtěl přistoupit na navýšení ceny.

Almost all larger stations have an elevator or escalator. For example, the station I was leaving from has an elevator on every platform.

Kvůli spoustě otravných reklam jsem nedokoukal ani do poloviny.
Ty reklamní pauzy tam jdou automaticky, jsou i u videí které je nemají zaplé .. listopad a prosinec jich bývá vždy nejvíc

arriva je nejhorsi. Btw pod DB už nepatří.
V říjnu DB podepsaly smlouvu s novým vlastníkem, ale někde jsem četl že převod proběhne až po novém roce.
