fun but kinda sad fact : minghao is only really dancing when is his part and when he's doing the coreography he doesn't raise his arm fully or has his hands on his pockets and thats cause he adjusted because of his collarbone injury , he makes it seem like its part of the coreo of how cool he looks tho , seventeen is insane and they never fail to impress me
You couldn't even tell! A big part in choreography and formations is called "complimentary" choreo, so him being the center for that part and doing slightly different moves actually fits so well
Actually I like his part the most in the MV it so much cool
And in the BTS he said he just flew in from China and headed to filming. I do appreciate how the choreographer incorporated he lack of mobility into the routine and made it seamless. 👍

Son O-gong is the Korean name of Son Wukong, the main character in the Chinese novel "Journey to the West". That novel was the inspiration for the anime "Dragon Ball Z". And I'm pretty sure "Dragon Ball Z" is the inspiration for this song. They make several references to the show. Named after Son Goku/Son O-gong/Son Wukong

You're the first I see noticing Boo on that part, he ate that, in the behind the scene video the members were hyping him so much for that part saying he was leading 200 dancers ❤ he's an awesome dancer! They slayed this comeback, seventeen never disappoints!

@@Koko3op every one in svt is main dancer material but I gotta say his evolution was tremendous! Seeing him having this solo dance moment makes me so proud! His highly appreciated for his vocals like he deserves but I wish more people could notice his dance skills like you did
i saw from a press release that this songs beat is inspired by the jersey club beat style which makes so much sense to me. It grew on me a lot as a song but the performance was so amazing. And I love all the songs on FML. very proud of seventeen

Sonogong/sun wukong is a reference to the "journey to the west" mythology and specifically the monkey king. While the choreo (and the lyrics) are slightly more dragon ball inspired, a lot of the choreo is influenced by sun wukong's abilities/skills. Some of the notable ones being able to split into clones, riding a cloud, and his staff of power.
Notable choreo/MV moments:
5:33 Woozi on the throne, a direct reference to the Monkey KING part
6:15 Mingyu "splitting" into clones of himself, the clones being Woozi and Joshua. Then splitting again into S.coups and Jun.
6:28 When Jeonghan goes "Say Say Say Say Hero's true colors like this" all but 5 people disappear.
6:41 Dino's part. Going saiyan to super saiyan referencing the hair colors
6:54 Dino's hand movement is a reference to Goku's kamehameha
7:44 "Geunduun" is the name of Sun Wukong's flying cloud that he rides
7:51 Joshua's movement during "yeouibong" is referencing Sonogong's staff of power, that can lengthen infinitely
8:15 The transition with the cloud is also Sonogong's cloud. He's commonly depicted as having golden hair, so when he rides his cloud, due to its speed, it looks like he leaves behind a streak of gold
9:45 During Jun's part, you can see the rest of SVT in the back walking and following Jun's movements. It's also a reference to being Sonogong's clones.
10:37 Woozi's part with the "Ener-energy" is a spiritbomb reference LOL
10:58 The "manhwa's ending song" part is my favourite. The choreo is of them flipping a book's (manhwa's) pages.

I've searched! Each country has a different title, but only Korea has the same original hongkong title.
Korean > 영웅본색(hero true color)
English > A Better Tomorrow
Japanese > 男たちの挽歌(anthem of men)

Someone pointed this out on Twitter and I still get goosebumps every time I watch this part - the last line by woozi “This is the cartoon’s ending song)”, you can see everyone “holding” a book and flipping the pages like they’re reading an anime. It’s sooooo cool to see them do this move so synchronised

Yessss - the musicality!!! The moments to breathe, the narrative, the journey - it's sooooo energetic but it doesn't ONLY go hard, it gives you that variation. It's so cool. And the opener - double title track and the rest of the songs are great as well. I hope you really enjoyed it!

SVT have always been honest in their lyrics and funny you mentioned 2ne1. When they were disbanded, it took me a while to get into Kpop again and now I am a full-blown Carat and I guess it's the sincerity of the group that really makes me stan them.
Son O Gong is the kr name for the Monkey King. There's a bunch of references to it in the lyrics, with the flying cloud, and the power pole. It looks like they're also referencing the anime Dragonball in the lyrics and the choreo and Goku is also based on the Monkey King. I'm not super super familiar with the story, so i'm sure others might be able to go into more detail. but yeah! c:
knew you would like it! Woozi being a huge anime nerd, and just creating songs to express how much he loves his memebers gave us this. Also they were being called prince of different kingdoms in Asian history in korean articles and by the fans, and it makes sense with the styling and the traditional sound of Super. The lyrics of F*ck my life definitely hit hard, I loved it.
I cant to see them perform these songs on music shows and concerts etc, as always even having been nearly a decade in the indistry their passion for creating and performing hasnt changed and it shows so instead of relaxing at this stage in their career it feels like they are just getting started.

a song about a chinese story sang and expressed in korean with a lot of dragon ball Z references. china, korea and japan. their 3 biggest market. i see what you did there seventeen. also it kinda gives me the same feeling as bts's idol wherein it wasnt my favorite in the album but at year end award shows or any live performance it was the song i was most excited for coz i know theyre gonna eat the stage with the performance

I'm glad you chose this video to watch for the fml translations, the other ones weren't accurate. FML is such a great song with deep meaning to the lyrics. I really want interfans to understand the meaning of the lyrics just the way it is and sometimes the translations arent accurate that it takes away the delivery of the song.
