You don't have to worry about any problems between most Carats and other fandoms. They are very chill majority of the time. Carats and Atinys have been showing a huge amount of support for each other lately. Because Seventeen is a very social group, many Carats try their best to befriend the fandoms of the members' friends, and have created a very big support system for all groups and fandoms involved. They're so welcoming.
I loveeeee when idols are friends with other idols outside of their group so this makes so happy!!
You are so right with this. I’m a monbebe first. Monsta x is my ult group but what I found is the fandom is amazing and it was through them I found seventeen and saw how close the two where. So I became a monteen :) those two are the fandoms I have seen that don’t have issues with anyone. I’m trying to grow out and become an atiny. I already ult yeosang 😂 not saying other fandoms have issues these are just the ones I have found so far :) I hope that made sense lol

99% of their songs are produced and written by themselves along with one other in house producer called bumzu.almost every seventeen song has woozi as their first credit( the person you called tiny) he is incredibly talented.
In early years they used to choreograph also but as they became busy we don't know if they still choreograph. Hoshi is the choreographer along with other performance team members.

6:02 You are right. It is indeed related to Son Goku. Son O Gong is the Korean name of Son Goku, the main character in the Dragon Ball franchise. DB was also inspired by Son Wukong, the Monkey King in the Chinese novel Journey to the West. There are some movements/choreos of the song that shows Goku's skills as Super Saiyan like the Kame Hame Ha and the Instant Transmission, even Dino's hair depicts Goku's hair as he transforms into Super Saiyan (5:21) and Woozi's last line says "This is the cartoon's credit song" (8:35). Overall, while they prove to this song that they are kings, they pay homage to the three fantasy series.

Seventeen are THE self-producing idols, plus they're self-made. As an armycarat it's always so good to see other armys discover seventeen seeing as how both BTS and Seventeen built themselves up from nothing.

Their dance practices are phenomenal and I would say they are one of the best groups I have seen synchronicity wise.
I definitely feel you'll have a better idea who is who after the killing voice video as they stay in the same place through it all (not staying still lol, they're incapable of that) so you'll be able to see them much better rather than short MV close ups.
Some useful things worth knowing:
- SCoups (longer dark hair) is the leader
- Woozi (the smallest one) writes pretty much everything and is the producer
- They're also split into 3 units - Performance (Dance) where Hoshi is the leader, Vocal where Woozi is the leader and Hip Hop where SCoups is the leader.
- 2 fluent English speakers. Joshua (blonde you liked from FML) is American and moved to Korea as a teenager to become a trainee. Vernon (one of the rappers) born in the US but moved to Korea as a young child. You'll hear their English in Killing Voice and they tend to front a lot of the interviews.
- There is another sub unit called BSS (BooSeokSoon derived from their surnames) which is made up of Seungkwan , DK & Hoshi. It started as a comedy 'debut' a while ago but the fans wanted more so they released a proper album recently and are such a funny trio. I'm sure you'll have seen dance challenges of their song fighting. DK & Seungkwan in my opinion have the stand out vocals of the group.

@@blurrykpop The only issue with the Killing Voice video is Wonwoo didn't sing a lot. He was going through an incredibly hard time with the passing of a family member, so Seventeen let him participate in group activities at his own pace ^^
One correction: BooSeokSoon is not from their surnames, only BOO Seungkwan is. Other are from their names Lee SEOKmin and Kwon SOONyoung 😁😁

What I love with Seventeen is they have a fair line distribution, they only give a little bit more lines to the main vocals usually but other than that they can make everybody shine without a problem. The only exception was in their debut era where some foreign members just had one line because their korean wasn't really perfect enough. But since then, they made sure to make everyone have their moment to shine !

Most of seventeens title tracks are more on the upbeat, cheery and energetic side but they still have a couple of slower mv's even though fxck my life is their slowest yet(and the only without choreo). When you come to their b-sides it's another thing tho cause they have a lot of heartwrenching songs. Woozi is an amazing lyricist and he really knows how to make you cry with a song, they're always so sincere
I'll be checking out all the b-sides as well (which most of the time become my favorite songs) so I'm looking forward to those!

Since you’re asking about shows, they do have a show that they do seasonally, which is called Going Seventeen. You don’t have to watch the eps in order (generally); they’re always doing random & funny concepts in the show 😂 I have a feeling you’ll really love their silly personalities. I think a lot of Carats will agree that the best episodes to recommend to someone new are “TTT Hyperrealism” and the “Don’t Lie” series (starting from 2020). I definitely suggest putting these in your to-watch list after you’ve done the guides and more mvs. Looking forward to your SVT journey :)

They are all so talented; Dk is my bias because his voice is the voice of god, Woozi is their producer and basically writes and produces all their music and I admire him so much, they are the most synchronised kpop group out there too!! I am so happy to be a Carat.
Goku's full name is Son Goku, the monkey king, he's the main character of the Chinese story of Journey to the West which Dragon Ball is based on. The Monkey King name in Chinese is Sun Wukong, in Japanese is Son Goku and in Korean is Sonogong
6:18 SEVENTEEN is a self-producing group. They compose, produce, write and choreograph their own songs. Woozi is their main producer while all the other members take part in lyrics. Hoshi, their performance unit leader and also the performance unit usually make choreography with the main choreographer.

Seventeen’s members are super talented they are know as self producing group, kings of synchronization, & the power house of kpop. Also, all the members are friendly & funny & their variety show called Going Seventeen is like a serotonin dose . I hope you love them when you know them well .

Well, if you love dancing, you have found the right group. Also, yes they are known as “the self producing Idols”, Woozi [Lee Jihoon, the small one], writes and produces 90%+ of their songs, and Hoshi [dancing with the skeleton Cowboy], creates a lot of the choreography. Additional lyrics and choreo primarily provided by the rap line and the performance unit respectively [though other members also contribute , Vernon especially has written quite a few songs ]. Woozi though is a pure fire musical genius and songwriting beast [he also plays many instruments]. Jun is a classically trained pianist [and really dam good], Joshua also plays guitar. [there may be others who play I have forgotten, pretty sure Seungkwan also plays keyboards]. Svt are a powerhouse of a group.

If you want to check a guide in the future there is a super long one, divided in 4 parts, the one out at the moment is 2022 but the creator is starting a new one to upload clips and info, just the intro is posted at the moment, the creator is caratline17, so maybe either wait until they finish reuploading the new version, or watch as it comes out, since each part really long, just the intro is kind of short, around 15 minute, then each unit video is like 30-60 minutes

F*ck my life is a very deep song about life that sometimes doesn't go the way we want it to, but we end up finding ways to live among the difficult things around us. That's pretty much a summary as it could go a lot deeper into it, and also the mv is inspired by The Truman Show, it's a great movie and it sure has a lot to do with the song.

You can see, hear, and feel the their music is growing with you. It's like your best friend that always relates to you. You can also expect the diversity of their Music discography. Woozi said that they don't want to stick to a specific genre. The message they want to convey, their commitment and their sincerity are the most important parts in their music production. Just to introduce svt to you: they're called self-produced group since debut.: they are always on composition, production, choreography and have also already produced merch and even mv (watch snap shoot). Woozi (vocal team leader) and Bumzu (producer friend for many years) are the masterminds of the entire seventeen discography. But all members participate in songwriting as well.
This song references to a great piece of literature and also Dragon Ball, as Woozi (who is the lyric writer/compuser and producer) it's a big anime fan, he already did a live stream of 6 hours talking about animes.
The Korean name of this song is "손오공 (son-ogong)" is a mythical figure and the main character of the 16th century Chinese novel Journey to the West. Most commonly known as the monkey king, or Sun Wukong in Chinese. In the story, he is like a powerful superhero who protects hist team all the way from China to India to bring back the Buddish Scriptures. During this trip, they encountered many hardships and dangers but concurred them one by one. The part where the dancers created two mounds and hopped from one mound to the other represents the monkey's personality. "Hop on our cloud and get all around" in the lyric is a reference to his ability to travel interstellar distances with his flying cloud - which is when S.Coups was lifted and passed from the back to the front in the air. The incantation in the lyric might reference to the spell that the Tang monk uses to restrain him from his rebellious nature. In Joshua's line, the "power pole" is his weapon, which can transform extremely big or small. The choreography at the end is a simulation of Wukong's power and making copies of himself with his fur to form an army. There are many more references and great parts of the choreography with meaning and understanding what they refer to makes this even more of a masterpiece.
I would like to add that Son Goku, dragon ball character, it's also based on Sun Wukong from the Monkey King in the West, so the references are used by both characters.
what i love abt seventeen is that even tho there r so many members but still they manage to have fair line and screen distribution so that everyone can shine ..which is very rare even for a gorup with 6-7 members

If you want to know more of their personalities, Going Seventeen is their show on their channel. They are hilarious. I fell in love with then while watching the "don't lie" (mafia) episodes. They LOVE playing mafia. I fell into a seventeen rabbit hole and am now a carat. Their killing voice video is a must see.

I think it will help that they have units within the group to help you out with faces and names, so don’t be too scared although 13 is quite a lot! And for the First song which is called Super the name does translate to Son Goku and throughout the song it has many references to the anime Dragon Ball Z, Woozi one of the members is a big anime fan! The first song is called called Super in english but theres really no connection lol!
The title in Korean is Son Oh Gong ; the japanese equivalent is Son Goku (like the dragon ball Z character hence some choreos have reference to it) and the Chinese equivalent is Sun Wu Kong or Monkey King (Journey to the West) where there are also references to it. You can look up some other reactions. Their choreos have deeper meanings as well (ex Cloning part of Mingyu , the one with the same pants as Han) is referenced to Sun Wu Kong who has the ability to clone himself. And the salute choreo is from Goku’s character.

Each unit has a leader: perf - Hoshi (also contributes to choreo a lot), vocal - Woozi (writes and produces majority of SVTs music, also the “small guy”) hiphop and SVT Leader - S. Coups. The one yoU liked the most when the camera flipped in Super and the red hair one in HOT are both The8, or Minghao. The tall one in jorts was Mingyu. Ethereal one in FML is Joshua. As a person who was an ARMY first and got into SVT just last year, it's really easy to get into SVT if you're an ARMY. Like the group dynamics are similar, both the groups came from humble beginnings and the whole vibe is very similar, yk a bunch of teenagers who came together for their love for music and became brothers along the way. Not to mention almost all the members of both the groups are close friends with one-two member of the other group.
P.s. The cute one you want to protect is Woozi, the producer of the group & vocal team leader. He looks cute but can be very intimidating. The one you said looked huge is Mingyu and he actually IS huge (he is like 6feet+ tall) but is a big softie who loves cooking and cleaning for the team.

Their variety show is Going Seventeen (GoSe for short). It started as a vlog kinda thing but has evolved into a more variety-type show. Think Infinite Challenge x Running Man. GoSe has its own fandom too, Cubics, for GoSe fans that are not (yet) full-blown carats.

If you want a live of them just singing suggest dingo killing voice, if you want to see them perform live meaning dancing and singing, you can literally check anything cause 90% of the time they are completely live (a little less after covid and music show doing pre record stuff, but they still sing live most times) I would suggest Fear, although not my fav title track is one of their best example of vocals and dance

The tallest was mingyu, and the8/minghao was the one in mullet with a big drop of music (he went to a collar bone surgery that's why he can't dance hard in this era TT)
First things first I am so proud of these guys for everything they have accomplished and more, secondly I already fell in love with this song as its so relatable and the MV just makes it even more relatable, Woozi did an amazing Jo producing the beat for this song as not only is it catchy but it's my fav song of all from their comeback.
