Yeah @daisies, Woozi produces all their songs. Not sure about the dance but Hoshi is the dance captain so I'm sure he had a hand in the dance.
Yeah, SONOGONG is the Korean name for Goku from DragonBall... If you notice during the choreography they do the finger sign for Teleportation. They say to transform into him as "Saiyan" and always during the choreography when they say to run, S.Coups is lifted as if he is on the Speedy Cloud. Also at the end they sing "This is the Cartoon's Credits Song" :))
Sorry for the correction but the Sun Wukong they're referring to in the song is the very original one from the Chinese novel Journey to the West

@@captaintuchy1612 those references in the lyrics and the finger to the head move is from the manga/anime. yes sun wokung is originally from the chinese story, but it inspired the Dragon Ball Z anime which is what they’re referring to. They might refers to both who knows? it was all from one source anyway. Just know that most of the lyrics was a direct references to the anime itself
@@blackbear7624 well I'm a fan both of Journey to the West and Dragon Ball Z and references go to both :) It's even clearer when we've seen Minghao with Sun Wukong's outfit from one of the films based on the original source
JUST IN CASE ANYONE DOESN'T KNOW!!!! This song is based on the Japanese anime DragonBall, which is based on a CHINESE NOVEL called Journey to the West about the monkey king Sun Wu Kong (where the drama, A Korean Odyssey, also drew inspiration from)!!! I love this song and Seventeen but cultural appropriation is very real and I don't want the origin of the story to get lost amongst all of these renditions!!

I believe the references are either from/ are from:
Chinese mythology's Sunwukong also know as the monkey king from Journey to The West ( with also the "pole to the sky", sunwukong has a staff that can stretch at will and he has the ability to clone himself
Korean Oddessy- Sonugong (with the dark looks and traditional wear/aesthetic, representing that being kinda a rebel)
Japanese version with the Anime Dragon ballz' San Goku (Super) which is actually referenced from the mythology (with some of the lyrics, 'cartoon ending song', 'flying cloud' and the whole bridge also the "two fingers on the corner of the eyebrow" pose.
So this song is a reference to Songogong the original tale and DragonBall Z. “The song's lyrics and choreography are filled with allusions to both the anime and the original tale. For instance, they reference iconic items from the series such as the Nimbus Cloud and the Power Pole. Additionally, the dance moves and lyrics contain hand gestures for the famous Kamehameha and Spirit Bomb techniques. The lyrics also feature the line "Feels like I turned into Sonogong," which gives listeners the sensation of transforming into Goku, or going Super Saiyan, as the English title of the song suggests. Overall, "Sonogong" is a well-crafted song that pays tribute to the beloved anime series while also incorporating elements from the original story.” From someone with better words about the song and mv. Something else at the end before the members do the ending scene, you see members move a bit and the back up dancers move outwards. From original Songogong has the ability to somewhat clone himself basically adding more shadows of himself. Another’s way a referencing that

They did this song on a youtube channel called "It's live". They sing live with a band. You can tell the staff and the band are having as much fun as the group. Also, there's a video singing multiple songs Called Dingo killing voice for seventeen . It's great.

This is my original comment from the official MV, so the timestamps are according to that video.
Son ogong or Son Wukong is the name of a Chinese emperor who is also known as the monkey king, Son Wukong is written in Japanese as Son Goku (yes our Dragon ball mc, unlike west where he's only referred to as Goku), who is ALSO referred to as the monkey king in the anime/manga. Goku also has his own struggles while navigating through life but he NEVER gives up. Now, the cloud mentioned on 0:32 / 1:34 is also a reference to the series, Goku has a cloud named Nimbus gifted to him by master Roshi. Goku uses this cloud as a way of transportation. Even the title font is shaped like nimbus. The hand formation at 1:09 by Dino is literally the Kamehameha pose. The power pole reference at 1:43 is also from DB, Goku has a red power pole that changes length, which he uses as a weapon at first. It is later moved to korin tower and used for travelling to Heavenly realm, lookout, etc. The lyric 'being free of all time and space' is probably about the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, where Goku (and Vegeta) train, it is also known as the 'Room of spirit and time'. The nature of time, gravity, temperature, etc is very different inside the chamber (1 day outside is equal to 1 year inside). The finger pose they do throughout the video (like 2:11) is yet another reference to DB, Goku uses the same pose to carry out instant transmission. Placing two fingers on his forehead, and everything he touches gets transported to another place (including worlds). Goku also loves his family a lot, he values his family and friends more than himself just like SVT so 'l love my team, I love my crew' applies to him as well. At 2:54 the lyrics say 'gather energy and one massive shot comes so lets point our cries to the sky', Goku's strongest attack in the franchise is the 'spirit b0mb', where he points his hands towards the sky and gathers all the pure energy from living creatures and shoots one massive (destructive) shot. The next line at 3:05 is 'this is cartoon's (manhwa) credit song'. In the end, the choreography depicts the multiplication of shadows, just like Goku summoning clones of himself. Even the costumes resemble his clothes, the baggy pants and waist belts followed by the robes. So everything sums up to them being transitioning to Goku (the Saiyan) who's one of the strongest anime character's to ever exist.
I also realised that the song is called Super (Sonogong) but not once do they say super. However, do you know who Son Goku is?

This concept rly made me think of Skz- thunderous. They both slayed the sonogong reference. Also, both "A Korean Odyssey" and the characters of Dragon ball z were based on the Chinese novel "Journey to the west" that came out in the 16th century. The protagonist, Sun Wukong, was said to be able to ride on clouds and make clones of himself with a throw of his hairs, and he always carries his weapon "Golden bo staff" which can become any length or size of choice🙃Seventeen also has 2 Chinese members too! Its actually not like skz theme. That song's lyrics are different,i mean message like my life my rules type lyrics...But Svt "Super" mv (cgi) is kinda similar to NCT "Kick it"... Nct use hot traditional outfits... Similar mv bcz of the same PRODUCTION TEAM... Oui Production... Super is performance based MV with a lot of dancers! So the theme is different..

Dragon Ball Z is loosely based off of the characters from Journey To The West (aka Monkey Magic), A Korean Odyssey (also one of my faves!) is the Koreanised version of Journey To The West. Son O Gong being the monkey king

I'm not sure if "DARUMDARIMDA" is meant as a chant/sound or if it's meant to be translated; it's written that way even in the Korean lyrics.
However... the hangeul for how that word sounds is "다룸다림다" and translates as "to deal with" or "to handle".
So maybe it's like saying "let's do this"?
