The biggest reason why black people did not have or the church mental health is because of money. Mental health is just now being covered and still is not fully covered as medical health. The church has been wanting therapy. That's why they've been wearing the pastor out with counseling. In the past pastors have counseled for free or with little love offerings. Therapy normally starts at $250 for the assessment and $150 per session. Economically families just was not able to cover that. So even the way that we speak on the church and what the real problem was, sometimes it's a false narrative. They would say pray about it because there was no answer that they could give. We need to have a conversation about having mental health as a part of health care fully. I need more than 10 sessions. I should not have to stop counseling because my insurance won't cover the other sessions that I need though I pay them every month. They get my money every month so I should be able to have as many sessions as I need.

Why is it that in mega churches, we are not allowed to talk to our pastor? We can only talk to the assistant pastor

David man is really a strong person to be able to face his problems and actually put it out in public for the world to see. That takes a lot of guts and strength.

I really enjoyed this! Watching men talk about their mental health in a safe place and being vulnerable is SO POWERFUL AND NEEDED! Our men need this! So many men are suffering in silence and don't have to! I'm proud of all of them! This is an open door and invitation for other men to come forth and finally live in their birthright, being free!

This is powerful! I love that the doctor was relatable, practical, professional, and spiritual! David keep doing what God has laid on your heart. Many men will be blessed and healed because of your testimony and work. Kirk and Israel were inspiring as well and have amazing testimonies and examples to learn from. I have been sharing this with every male I know and ladies too! This is good stuff!

Congratulations! David Mann for bringing forth a positive, safe place platform for men to come with other men to express their feelings. Many times we as women just don't understand, we can listen which is fine, but we really don't understand. Most men understand each other. We as women always have our home girls to talk to, but most men don't have another brother to talk to. So happy for this new journey of bringing men together. Now! Let me step aside & let you guys have your space.💯❤️

I loved the conversation, I had no idea, Israel, had his own story. I’m like Kirk, I’m going to talk about my issues. I’m a woman, but took great notes. The church, may not always talk about it, but God, is working through you all!

This type of show has been something very needed. I divorced after 25yrs a marriage over 10 yrs ago. Probably still would have been married if my ex spouse had something even close to this. He didn't believe in counseling. But I did. But this show is awesome for men. Yes, kudos!

Very interesting and different. It's wonderful that someone took the time to create a show to deal with issues that men deal with, and focus on men. Everything about women and children, and very little about us as men. So this is a wonderful thing.

This is real truth, it’s been much on stages and platforms. But this is on the surface. Where everyone can grasp and understand. Especially what we battle within, without fear and being judge. Men to you all. This is fulfillment and some tools ⚒️ to equip to heal. Son Kirk this is your season for this. Yes God has gifted you and blessed you in your music 🎶 ministry. But this is what he wanted you to get to. To reach the world 🌎 God exposes us like an open book sometimes. We are the only one that can be the author in our books. Nobody can tell your story but you. Thank all of you for your God given courage. God masters all things he gives grace. 🙏👑⭐️

When Israel says that CHURCH is a business… that right there lies the problem. CHURCH is supposed to be a place for the broken and hurting to be edified, restored, healed, delivered and find salvation. The CHURCH is meant to be the safest place for everyone of all walks, status, class, race and creed. Not putting Israel on blast, but rather piggybacking on what he’s saying… Gods intent for His body was not to become a business plan nor model but rather a place where we are perfected through grace.
This conversation is a need for believers. We need safe spaces to have real talk and be transparent to uncover hang ups that EVERYONE struggles with, using wisdom. Humanity is flawed and that’s ok because Gods design was for the BODY to administer healing one to another. But this can only happen when mature saints can bring restoration.
Look at the human body and how God designed it. Antibodies are aids to war off infections and diseases. When the body attacks itself it’s often diagnosed as an auto immune disease. This ought to teach us how the Body of Christ was designed to function. (So much to unpack here but the natural can teach us.)
    Great conversation!

This has truly blessed me already. I was looking for some uplifting regarding mental health. Although I have positive ways of dealing with mental health, this was what I think I need as well. With this world and all the chaos of life, expectation that are placed on men, loss of love ones, our son's and daughters incarceration, sickness and health, ministry, leadership, parenting, being a husband, father, son, this all get really heavy on how we all deal with life. Please continue to have this safe place to communicate and demonstrate, healthy solutions to our challenges. Thank You

There’s a disconnect between the ‘Church’ and ‘mental health,’ because Pastors tend to be Evangelist who ‘run’ the Church but refuse to allow the entire 5-fold ministry to operate in the Body in order to ‘mature’ the Body. Apostles, Prophets, and Teachers are very much needed. Otherwise, the ‘Church’ remains weak, stagnant, confused and carnal.
I am so proud of you brothers, for acknowledging the past mistakes of ancestors, especially in the Church, and how y’all have taken the steps to recognize the old way won’t work for the Black Church today. For ONCE , no bashing and blaming Black women but taking accountability for getting the help they need.

Much of the dysfunctionality or stinking thinking in the Black community derives its origins from the dominant culture. Prior to slavery, our culture operated differently and our respect for the genders was more equal. However, as the ‘Church’ became more Catholic and Patriarchal to uphold the majority’s standards as it relates to everything, the Black man has struggled to adapt to that standard. Why? Because it was never meant for our culture and more importantly, it is not possible and never will be possible to force Black women to ‘behave’ like YT women.

When I was 18, my bf at the time was being playful with me and he hit me too hard. I hit his arm as hard as I could and told him not to hit me again. He took a water hose, when I wasn't looking and hit me harder. I called out for his mom, who was watching from the door and she just said, "yall stop playing around like that." So I went inside and got my purse to leave. He told me that I could've leave and grabbed purse and threw it in the street. I grabbed a 2×4 from the yard and swung like I was trying to hit a homerun. I hit him in the head and he stumbled and called for his mom. I ran to get my purse and got in my car to leave. I never went back to him. Abuse does not...should not EVER get a second chance.

16:33. As Believers we must always remember and remind each other that you can pray until you faint, but if you don't get up and do something (this case seek professional provider /medicine), God is not going to put it in your lap. This is not an eternal security/salvation issue

The fact that we as a whole go with “ the church is a business.” , is something we have to work on.💯💯💯💯💯💔💔💯💯. The church is supposed to be the Body of Christ. I had to realize that as well. It took years to realize the church is supposed to be a relationship with other sinners that want to get healthy in Jesus Christ. I figured since we’re in therapy we should get to the truth.❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯🙏🏽💯

Like Kirk, I didn't know I had ADD until our son was diagnosed at 5 years old (and I was 28). I am grateful I had parents that didn't label me, and by the grace of God I learned how to manage my brain, especially in my High School years. I was raised by a Minister and Missionary, so prayer was constant. I may be one of the lucky ones that had parents praying behind the scenes. I will be sending this conversation to my son. Thank you David and may the conversations continue.

This is A Life Changer! I pray that you Continue These segments David Mann because this wasn’t just for the men, this is for the ladies too! If know your loved one is going through something, take the time to Really ask them how are they feeling and let them know before they respond back to be open and honest. We don’t want a shell answer, we want the truth whether it hurts or not. For those of us asking the question, remember your loved one is already in a vulnerable state, so please be patient and prepared to listen with an open mind and heart. This means be quiet and allow them to speak freely without judgement. Thank you for doing this live show. I shared this with my son who also enjoyed watching. He said this opened his eyes to a lot of different perspectives he was not aware of. ❤

Yes, everyone has an uncle Buddy that attends every event and leaves you praying he'll sit down before the bride sees him. Or that aunt Lucy that dances with everyone whether they want to or not. But they do so because she's clearly had too much to drink.

    "*"🙏"Great Job Mr. Mann.
This was an AWE'🤩'SOME Event Even Though It Is "labeled" and "directed" towards *"Mental Health"* and Truly focused on *"Mental HEALTH"* (*Well'ness*) and Not *"Mental *Ill'ness"* because many do not know that there "IS" a "major" difference.
The fact that there was "humor" and "commaraderie" as well as the "more pointed issues* that were shared truly ..... *"clarified that"*.
The truth of the matter "too" is that "your male voices" were heard on a major scale and you "stayed focused" on the topic "at hand" about a major topic from the mouths of "consistently "🙏" versed" *"black" ..... "men"* which is, has been and obviously..... will be ..... a "major deficiency" in our community.
But "hearing" that its "OK" to "seek" out "comfortable" counseling coupled with *your faith* is a *Key* and *Major Enlighten'ment* for Moving Forward In *This* and *Similar* Arenas.
Thank GOD For The Manifestation of John 8: 32 in and on "this" plat'form.
"*"🙏"GOD'S Contin'u'🤜'al "BLESS'🤲'INGS" For You and Yours ..... *Mr. Mann*
