I came across some people on TikTok pretending to be in the mafia for some reason, so I had to figure out why this was happening. We also take a look at two TikTok brothers who hopped on this mafia trend, and it gets very weird. Enjoy!

As an Italian, this video is hilarious and deeply saddening at the same time. I love how you make fun of this content but I don't think they understand how horrible the mafia actually is here. I remember reading comments under one of these TikToks of someone saying the mafia was okay because they just fight other mafia groups but they have respect for women and children while this is so very wrong. Children are being kidnapped and killed in acid, women are beaten, raped, killed and abandoned as revenge, civilians are killed in bomb attacks - it's a tragedy and these dickheads have the gut to make it a trend?! It's unbelievable and very ignorant to me.
i am somewhat Italian, and it’s really heartbreaking, they don’t take time to learn abt it, they just do it and think it’s okay, i just hate it.

Not defending those guys, and I might be wrong, but from what I hear the American Mafia is a lot less vile than the original Italian Mob. Unlike the Families in Italy, there does seem to be a general rule among American Mobsters to not harm women and children, which is why a guy like Michael Franzese didn't feel worried about his family's safety after he betrayed the Family. That's probably where those commenters and these TikTokers are getting their ideas of the Mafia from.

@@carlottaverona9703 the romanticized version of Italian mafia tends to stem from the fact that a lot of Italian American gangs were extremely popular in the news. Think of guys like Al Capone and John Gotti. They're basically like celebrities despite what they did. They even have movies about them like The Godfather.

@Theinsanecritic because it’s not funny or something to mock. my family was working with the mafia and they got caught for something and ended up having to go to prison and now some of my family members are in crippling debt
