- in this video I change my output bushing in my 263xhd transfer case without splitting the case. Also, I post the correct part numbers for the bushing and seal part numbers for the 263xhd case.
the truck is a 2001 8.1 engine and Allison trans.
5:23 Huh??? What am I missing? The groove in the bushing is just like threads on a nut. If you end for end the bushing, the groove runs the same direction. Ever notice you can thread a nut onto a bolt from either face?
That’s cool you got lucky. I will keep an eye out for a used transfer case off an 8.1 for you.
Yeah, so far it seems okay. I've driven it around a little bit without an issue yet.
If I have anymore issues with it I will just change the whole thing though. Let me know if you come across one.
Thanks
Thanks for making this video I also thought of taking a 2 by 6 board and drilling a hole big enough for the spline to sit through so you can drive it on
I've always wondered what actually holds that in place, my bushing has made its way into the case and floating on the shaft now. I got a new one, but I'm worried it'll slide back in
Hey man, any updates on how long it lasted? Gonna do this tomorrow as I'm trying to put off playing for a rebuilt case lol.
So what would be the bushing for a 2001 GMC 1500 Sirrra 4x4 pivkup with the 4.8 engine?
I am having the same issue and this helped me tremendously! Did it leak after you drove it for awhile or was everything good?
No, so far, it seems okay. I've only driven it a few thousand miles since the video though.
This helped me a lot.
Great video, bud! Very descriptive and thoroughly explained; especially regarding the direction of the oil groove on the bushing.
Thanks! I hope it helped
What size hub socket was that?
nice job
Thanks!
