Thank you for not completely exaggerating the mistakes for comedic effect. It doesn’t help to show someone a “mistake” that no one would ever make. This is so much more helpful.
Thank you Lisa. I make a couple of mistakes, not using a transition shade and applying eye liner to thickly at times. Will try to modify these established habits. I’m 62 and still love makeup. Never too late to learn more things. ❤️
OMG! I’m so happy I found you. I’ve have gone from influencer to influencer hoping to LEARN techniques. Although they tell you what to do, you actually explain why. Eye shadows (to me) are so daunting. I never know which brush to use, so I would take a screen shot of someone and blow it up. This is the first time I’ve seen anyone show the difference between application of two brushes. Makes total sense. Even how you explained applying your foundation and concealer was amazing. I have never used foundation because I’m too scared. I think I’ll try it after watching your Elf video. If you haven’t, please do a similar video on applying eye shadows. Love the two videos I’ve watched so far…..SUBSCRIBED❣️
I'm glad you taught about the brow bone highlight. I have made the mistake of using a too frosty shade many times. I always wondered why my darker color seems to migrate to it and change it. For now on I will try one of my Hourglass powders and see how that works! Thanks for the lessons!!
These are excellent tips! You really are an awesome teacher. Oh I've been guilty of harsh eyelooks & it seems to accentuate my hoods. Love your hair ! I'm thankful that you are here !
Great tips!!! I have started to apply eyeshadow to my lash line instead of eye liner. However, I’m not giving up lining my inner rim with dark liner🤣🤣 Your passion and enthusiasm always comes through ❤️❤️❤️
Yes, I used to make most of these mistakes, and I agree l that the eye shadows look harsh and extreme on the eyes. This is the reason why I appreciate your channel because I have learned how to apply and combine different shadows and still looking natural and effortless. Since I started following your channel I have learned a lot about how to apply complexion products and other tips and tricks which have helped to improve the quality of my makeup 💄. Thank you Lisa! You are a star ⭐️
I really hope more and more people find your channel. Not only you are kind, fun and lovely (and gorgeous!), but I keep learning no matter how many of your videos I see. Your beautiful energy trespasses the camera! Thank you dear 💕
Thank you Lisa, I agree with all of these mistakes and I have been guilty of a few of these although I can tell it’s too stark. These were great reminders.
2 products for me for eyes are the Charlotte Tilbury Classic liner. It is blendable & it stays on. The brown and the brown shimmer are fabulous. A product that was a life changer was Mac’s Radiant Rose. For my coloring a little of that performs miracles for my under eye. I use a tiny bit before my concealer. At one point I thought they were discontinuing it, but it is back. I have never found anything to replace that lovely cool toned pink.
I love your tutorial videos! I've learned so much from you about doing my makeup differently in my 50s vs. in my 20s, and 30s! I agree about using black eyeliner. I've personally never been a fan of it, because I have blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. It has always looked too harsh when I've tried it, so I mostly stick with browns, and navys. Also, going to try using the more matte shadow under the brow bone. It's been so engrained to use a shimmer shadow there, that I keep forgetting to use a more matte shade. Thanks for all that you do to help keep us feeling beautiful!
Hi Lisa, I'm in my late 50s, and I've made all but the waterline mistakes. I still have a tendency to overdo my eyebrows. I absolutely love your videos. They're some of the most helpful. I finally ordered from your website. Angie's set of brushes was delivered today. I'm so excited to use them! Thank you for sharing your tips!!
Great video, Lisa. I don't put on any eyeshadow unless I've applied primer. I think you need to do a part 3!! Wishing you a wonderful 2022!! Blessings, and love...MaryEllen
Truly appreciated this video. I have extremely hooded eyes & am happy for any tips to keep the eye looking open. My favorite tips from you are when you teach us about how to use brushes. I was surprised at how different the same eyeshadow went on depending on how compact or fluffy the brush was. Thanks, Lisa ❤
Great video! I am a math person, not creative at all. I need videos like this to break things down for me and explain how and why something is done. I think you could do even more in depth videos on just one step. Like just a video on lining lower lashes that included explanation of products (waterproof, gel, pencil, etc) colors and exact product examples that you recommend. Happy New Year!
I’m so happy I started watching your channel. Your videos are so helpful and easy to follow. I’m so impressed with you. Your personality and how sincere you are. What an inspiration to women of all ages!
This was so helpful! I was definitely making the mistake of putting too dark of a color in my crease. I just assumed that I don’t like how dark eyeshadow looks on me haha. Thank you for sharing ❤️
I’m glad you addressed eyeliner problems! I see so many people wearing eyeliner in an unflattering way. For example, the only eye makeup they wear is harsh liner on the lower lash line.
Guilty of a few but your tip about doing the crease in a color close to your natural color I have been doing, and I must say it does make a difference. Of course I learned this from you! I have heard the eyebrows are sisters and aren’t the same which I find amusing. I always learn something from your tips! Thanks 😊
Great tips in both of these videos! It's really great to see some videos that are just helpful and don't make me feel like I need to buy any other products. So many videos these days feel like adverts, but these that you've done are exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you :)
Hi Lisa… Thanks for this video. After watching one of your previous videos using the Charlotte Tilbury amber eye crayon, I use the BK Beauty smudge brush to smudge this out on my lower lash line. It looks very natural and beautiful! Thanks for the tip! I will try the Milk eye primer…also love the Mac paint pots! Happy New Year!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! What looked good when we were 20, doesn’t look as good when we’re 40, even less so when we’re 60. When I was 20, the “proper” eye makeup technique was lid color, then crease, then highlight under the brow and all of it was sparkly. There was no concept of transition shades, inside corner of the eye highlight, or a light matte color under the brow. Liner was only on the upper lid, except when I was on stage. At 40, younger girls were always asking me how to reproduce what I did, which still surprises the heck out of me. Now that I’m 65 (and starting over with makeup due to losing it all in a fire), I’m learning new techniques. Illness and tragedy have changed my face drastically. It’s like I don’t know my face anymore and am starting over. We need to alter our application not just because we’ve aged but because makeup application has advanced. We’ve learned a lot about what looks good since we first started wearing makeup. Formulas are better. Colors are more varied and interesting. We have primers, setting sprays (that aren’t Aquanet), and tubing mascaras. We can glimmer without sparkling and look dewy without looking greasy. We don’t have to wear heavy powders that make our faces look like masks or colors that make us look old fashioned. And we don’t have to spend a fortune to look our best. We need more vids like this. Maybe you could have some older ladies as models?
I have deep set eyes & highlighting my brow bone only makes my eyes look even MORE deep set 😬 so I’ve been skipping the brow bone highlight for many years now. It can look VERY pretty using the methods you described on many women & REALLY wish I could pull it off but instead, I replace it w/a couple of other techniques that work a bit better for my eyes.👍
Thank you!! I was guilty with the black liner under my eyes until this year and learning from all of you amazing TH-camrs!! I have thick eyebrows so I don't fill them in or else they look like catapillers 😂
Thank you, I like that you explain the reason behind the technique, I myself need to practice on transitioning shadows, thank you for sharing your passion with us.
Thank you for that little trick at the end. I never thought of changing my brush out. I’m not a fan of shimmer under my brow at all & at times I get caught with the lightest color in a palette being a shimmer. Great tip! HAPPY NEW YEAR and God Bless to your & your family.
Thank you for sharing these great tips, Lisa. I thoroughly enjoy these types of videos and I learn so much. I really like your last tip about using the fluffy brush with a shimmery color to defuse the color. Wishing you and your family a very healthy and happy 2022!🎆🎊
I have a hard time using a light hand on my upper eyeliner😬 but I do diffuse and I wear glasses most of the time. I learned years ago to put my eye makeup on heavier when wearing glasses. What are your thoughts? Thank you, Lisa!!!
I liked this video. I definitely have committed these 'sins' lol but stopped wearing liner on the bottom for day to day. I used to be hesitant to try and do a real eyeshadow look because I didn't know how. I have learned a lot watching you. Love your brushes also. Thanks, Lisa!
I agree with the black eyeliner! I see so many women I know only use black eyeliner. I’m not sure why women are afraid to try other colors - I would add that to your mistake list, only ever using black eyeliner. I have learned so many tricks and tips from you Lisa and feel my makeup looks better now at 53 than it ever did when I was younger. I cringe at my makeup looks before TH-cam.
I have big round eyes, so I could get away with a dark lower inner rim, but I do still prefer a flesh tone, unless I’m doing a dramatic evening look. Great tips!
Thank you. You are a good teacher. I definitely agree with everything you said especially the eyebrows. Also, the highlighter for the brow bone is definetely worth mentioning too frosty is spot on. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I agree! The hooded eye set was a huge game changer for me, and I love Angie's set, too! I now have mostly all BK Beauty brushes in my arsenal. They've made such a difference.
I agree with you 100%. Black liner IS harsh. Also too dark any color in the lower lash line definitely makes eyes small. I am lucky to have long lashes so didn’t get into eyeliner until I was in my late 40s and always thin, in shades of taupe or gray. Where I struggle the most these days is finding the best eyeshadow shades to enhance my eye shape as I age. I avoid dark shades and have experimented with neutrals, but feel I could do better! One and done or 2 shades tend to work best. Love the tip about a fluffy vs firm brush to soften shimmers. Thank you!
Thank you so much Lisa, your videos are the best on youtube. Everything makes sense and in addition you are so beautiful and have such a nice way to talk. All the best for you!!
To me, black liner on the lower lashline is extremely aging. Too much. I personally don't line my lower lashline. Fabulous advice on the eyebrows. I do mine exactly as you. Brow pencil, followed by gel. Fabulous tips as usual, Lisa. So practical, and many are overlooked. I normally don't highlight my brow bone. For me, as I age, less is best. Thank you for your incredible content throughout the year, and for being a dear friend. Wishing you, Paul, Brooklyn, and Kate, a very Happy and Healthy New Year. ❤❤🎊🎉🍾🥂🥳
Hi Lisa l love the way you do make-up and the way you explain everything, it's so easy to follow. I was using concealer to prime my eyes but find it's not really working for me. I will use what you recommend. Thank you so much. Happy New Year to you and your family.💞💞
Lisa these tips were awesome! Especially the comparison of the 2 different brushes under the brow- wow. I feel like I know a lot of these tips from following you for years but still……you rock🥰 Happy New Year🍾🥂🥳💕 Xo Tammy 🇨🇦

I cannot get enough or your videos and your awesome tips.. also recently tried BK beauty brushes and lip liner and lip stick and I will never use any other brushes again!! Just discovered your amazing brand and videos and I’m so glad I did!!
Love your educational videos! I am definitely guilty of going in too dark with a transition shade when beginning my eyes, so thanks for this tip! Happy new year and best wishes 🍾😎💖
An extremely helpful and enjoyable video; love this series. Especially great tip at the end using a fluffy brush to apply shimmer under the brow. Happy New Year!
I love your advice and the makeup application on your face. I have one question. I noticed you wear your blush rather low on the cheeks as opposed to the high cheek blush look. I was told after 40. Apparently, it drags your face down instead of up. Is this true at all? I would love to see one cheek the way you do it now and one cheek with the blush application higher. I love your skin!
Glad I hung in till the end. (I always do) But the last tip was the one I needed most. I only like a thin line of highlight (or light matte) under my brows. Most thin brushes are dense and the effect is not soft enough. I will switch to a thin fluffy brush that should do what you demo'd. I like doing my eyes from a single palette so appreciate those with a light matte and a dark matte in the mix. I have MAC Orb that can stand in for a palette. I just hate reaching for it. BTW, I am enjoying the BK Beauty liners and lipsticks. Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year.
Thank you for not completely exaggerating the mistakes for comedic effect. It doesn’t help to show someone a “mistake” that no one would ever make. This is so much more helpful.
I'm guilty of quite a few of these but with me hitting the big 60 I'm definitely following your advice. Thanks

Love your videos, Lisa! I am still going to respectfully use my black liner on the bottom and in the waterline! We can agree to disagree!
The tip that helped me is the shimmer brow bone…I need to find a good bone/cream matte for that. Thank you! I’m learning a lot from your videos!
You are such a great teacher! I always love your tips and tricks. Happy New Year Lisa! 🥂❤🥂
I'm glad you taught about the brow bone highlight. I have made the mistake of using a too frosty shade many times. I always wondered why my darker color seems to migrate to it and change it. For now on I will try one of my Hourglass powders and see how that works! Thanks for the lessons!!
I can tell by your excitement how much you sincerely love sharing these tips. Such a helpful video - thank you!

Hi Lisa. I love your channel. One question. How do you decide on an eyelid primer? Some seem so dry and others are to "sticky".
I watch all your videos so this was a refresher course, thanks
I love tutorials because you can always learn something new!! Happy New Year to your family & The BK Team!!
Thank you for another great and informative video. I learned how a brush can make all the difference. Looking forward to the next video.

I agree! The hooded eye set was a huge game changer for me, and I love Angie's set, too! I now have mostly all BK Beauty brushes in my arsenal. They've made such a difference.

Awesome tips Lisa thanks! One peeve of mine is women with too much mascara on their lower lashes. 🤔
Great tips! I learnt a few things from this video and part 1. Thank you!
I apply concealer to my lids/eyes to even out my skin, when would you apply eye primer? I love the tricks and tips, thank you.
Thanks for another great video. Tami
Lisa- I think I follow your tips from watching you channel! Thank you for going over them and Happy New Year! ~ Lori
Thank you so much Lisa, your videos are the best on youtube. Everything makes sense and in addition you are so beautiful and have such a nice way to talk. All the best for you!!
I love your brushes! I appreciate that you share! Happy New Year!!!
I like your idea of a flesh tone liner for the water line - any suggestions ?
Thank you for the tips! Can you give advice on how to put on eye shadow for hooded eyes?
Love this Lisa! Off to order eye primer stat!!
Love this type of video. Very easy to see the difference and then modify my technique. Thank you
Happy New Year to you Lisa and to your BK Beauty team!
Hi Lisa l love the way you do make-up and the way you explain everything, it's so easy to follow. I was using concealer to prime my eyes but find it's not really working for me. I will use what you recommend. Thank you so much. Happy New Year to you and your family.💞💞

I feel like I know a lot of these tips from following you for years but still……you rock🥰
Happy New Year🍾🥂🥳💕

Thank you Lisa for all the wonderful tips to make us look beautiful. Love all your great videos. Hope you & your family have a bright and sparkling New Year 🎉🥂🍾🥳🎇🌟🌻
Lisa, great video. Can older women use the shimmer liner under eye also?
Thank you for inparting your knowledge to us and helping us with our makeup. You truly are a expert when it comes to makeup application. May I also wish you and your family a very happy new year, may you have good health and may this year all your dreams and hopes come true.❤❤❤❤🤗🤗🤗🤗
Hi Lisa looking gorgeous as always - great video thank you - did i miss what eyeshadow palette you used on your eyes ?
Can I use the same primer on my eyelids that I use on the rest of my face?
Happy New Year Lisa!!! 🎊🎉🥂🤩 all the best for 2022!!!
Happy New Year! Best to you too!
Your nails is that a gel polish cured or regular formula, they look great .
Hope you have a Happy New Year’s
I cannot get enough or your videos and your awesome tips.. also recently tried BK beauty brushes and lip liner and lip stick and I will never use any other brushes again!! Just discovered your amazing brand and videos and I’m so glad I did!!

Brows are sisters not twins! Love it. I must tell you I really love the BK Beauty lipsticks. It’s the formula I like. I like the Milani eye primer.
What are the other color products you used? Lip and cheek?
What are your thoughts on using concealer as eyeshadow primer?
queation did you also need a eye primer under an eyeshaduw stick? happy new year xoxo
An extremely helpful and enjoyable video; love this series. Especially great tip at the end using a fluffy brush to apply shimmer under the brow. Happy New Year!
Great tips-Happy & Healthy 2022, Lisa!
Great video! Which inner rim pencil did you use? Love it. Happy New Year
You reminded us that ‘too much’ detracts from your look - better to use a light hand. Upper eyelid liner is easy to overdo.
Could u do tips for wide set eyes ? I can’t find any tutorials
Oh yes!!! Happy New Year Marie!
@@lisajmakeup thank you so much !!! U too!
BTW,
I am enjoying the BK Beauty liners and lipsticks. Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year.
