Fab. video… how do you keep tight liner from transferring to bottom? I’ve used every kind of waterproof liner but I still get transfer! Thanks Lisa… love your channel. 💕

I so appreciate your style of just good old fashioned tutorials that teach! It used to be all that was on TH-cam when I was a teenager and it’s amazing you’re still teaching us! Thank you so much and I think I will do my makeup today. I hardly do it now simply because I’m exhausted, sick from my GI disease daily or I’m a busy mom with depression but I always feel better when I do it and my hair and feel put together, almost like I have my shit together and my life in order. I honestly do my makeup once every few weeks or months and I have so much makeup, makeup junkie and it’s a passion of mine and has been since I could ever start wearing it. If anyone relates like this comment so I can see I’m not alone!

I think most moms go through this phase, Ash and sometimes it lasts quite a while. ❤️ It is largely because you are exhausted and have no time for yourself. You must make time for yourself. You may feel that is impossible or even guilty at first, but pulling yourself together will make you feel like you have your shit together. When you pass by a mirror or reflection in a window, you will stand taller and smile instead of feeling sad about your appearance. My kid’s pediatrician guided me toward self improvement and he also wrote me a “prescription” and said Dad needs to be more involved. I don’t know if you have a partner, but my child care and household chore list was much much longer than my husbands. And I worked full time. After that doc appt, I confided in my husband and we literally sat down and divided chores evenly on a piece of paper and stuck to it. We were both happier as a result. If you don’t have a partner, confide in family and see if they can help you make time for you. I am nearing 64 and take care of myself to this day. You can do this! 😊

We could be sisters! I have disabilities in my back and legs, which, along with everything else, involves a lot of chronic pain.
Just like you, I have a room full of makeup and I'm lucky to wear it 2 to 3 times a month!
I love makeup, I love how it can totally change a face or simply enhance it.
      You're definitely NOT alone 👭💜💜💜💜

    • @Ash-nk8lk
      @Ash-nk8lk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@chrissymoss514 yes girl! I have chronic pain as well from two major spinal surgeries and I’m getting a third in a few months so I understand your struggles so much and it’s not about making the excuse that I don’t have time, I’ve never said that. I have the time I’m just not motivated because I’ve simply been really depressed and my anxiety is so bad I have anxiety attacks often and my GI disorder literally causes me to be sick every single day with pain. I understand makeup is a form of self care and doing things that value myself is important to me but if I have to choose between playing with my son ans being present, doing my at home procedures for my GI disorder or having a shower I will choose all of those things before makeup. Yea when I do it I feel pretty and better but I’m surviving and have been I haven’t been thriving at all. Health issues and mental health issues affect us so much it’s not so easy to just say I’ll make time for me. I make time for me but I weigh out which ME time is most important, makeup is at the bottom of that list

I thought your left eye, sans the KVD liner on half your top lip + the two products on the bottom, looked larger. Wide open, in fact. Gonna try stopping there to compare with how my eyes look that way, then do both following *all* your steps. Thank you for continuing to offer tutorials, Lisa J.

My eyes keep getting more hooded as I age(62 now). What eye makeup remover do you use to get off the under eyelash tight lining and mascara? I wear contacts so I worry. Also how do you keep the liquid liner looking natural? What primer is best for older crepy hooded eyes? All of my makeup creases after just a few hours.

I love Wayne Goss pencils because they’re so smooth and glide on but sometimes they smudge. Thanks for the pencil suggestions! Enjoyed this video, especially your eye shadow crease tips, but thought the eye without lower liner towards the end looked larger than the eye you lined on the bottom as well. I find using mascara on lower lashes enough to give me some definition and if I do what you did my eyes look smaller. Thanks for a great video.

I’ve struggled with hooded eyes all my life. The liner that works for has been brown bronze by Tarte . You’ve encouraged me to try black . I usually stay clear of black . I would love a video for thin eyebrows. I would like to make them appear fuller and natural but not thick and painted on. Thank you for the tips.

I stocked up on Revlon and Almay during coupon sales of their bronzey brown liquid liners. I recently came across a Wet n Wild liquid liner in a bronzed brown at Walgreens but decided not to buy any more. Not only black but also navy blue, black-brown, charcoal gray and some deep browns are just too intense, creating a heavy-lidded look even though I exclusively tightline my eyes. Covergirl once had a paddle tipped liner in Smoked Amber I also liked.

Thanks for those tips! I hadn't thought of "setting" my lower liner with a dark eyeshadow--but I'm going to try it! I've basically stopped using any pencil on my bottom lashes because they'd always smear and I'd end up with racoon eye by the end of the day.
One request for a tutorial, or more accurately, a tip: I usually do my brows at the very end, after I've set my makeup with a powder. But by then I've always gotten some powder and/or foundation along the edges of my brows (I don't do them at the beginning because I worry about that foundation residue along the edges of the brows). I've tried to clean them with a a q-tip or edge of a cotton round, but it never looks wight. After that, I'll sometimes use a brown pencil and then always add a tinted brow gel that has fibers in it, like the Kosas (great recommendation btw, thanks!) or the Nyx version. Any ideas/tips? It seems like a little thing, but it's been bugging me for years!
    Thank you!

Lisa, I think your eyes are so pretty even without all of the liner, lashes and shadow. They don't look small to me at all. Just sayin.. because some women look scary without their eye makeup, (i.e me at my age) but you are a beauty either way. :) I always had (emphasize past tence) long thick eyelashes and good skin, so never had the need to where makeup except from some concealer and a light powder , and lipstick. Now however, I need to line my eyes and do brows and tinted sunscreen. So this tutorial is super helpful. thank you :)

Love love love your channel, your makeup tricks are simply and explained so clearly that I have the confidence to try. Can you explain where you use your brushes and why. Also when you would use a beauty blender sponge, do you use it wet or dry, when do you know when it’s time to dispose of it. I am also experienced pilling when I put on foundation after my sunscreen…what may I be doing wrong?

What a great video, thank you! I'm 60 years young with small hooded AND oily eyelids. I will try the Makeup Forever pencil. I keep hearing that BROWN eyeliner is best for us mature women, what is your opinion?

Ohhhhh a new BK beauty brush I’m so excited!!!! Lisa when we set the under eye after concealer is applied is it better to use a sponge or brush? I use the CT airbrush powder I’m 56 I don’t have too many lines but the ones I do have I’d like to always conceal the best way. Thank you!

Hello Lisa! I just found you and I’m trying to find your recommendations that you provide in this video. Could you do a Part 2 to this video, where you recommend other products to do this technique? For example, that nude pencil in number 5 is really hard to find. Other ideas? You would know other products to recommend you like. BTW- Love this video. It’s the first video of yours I have watched. So glad I found you! Your very smart & talented and I appreciate that!

Love this technique! You’re a great teacher. I’m curious why you don’t use your own BK Beauty eye palette. It’s such a pretty one. I bought it and would love to see more of it here!

You truly are the best!! You are the best instructor on TH-cam. Could you possibly explain Lip Liners one day. If you have light colored lips, or very pink lips-which liner do you use? Older lips? Tricks to make them look bigger-or do you match your lip liner to the lipstick or go opposite? I see dark brown liners with very nude lipstick-why???? xoxoxoxo

I am new to the channel and this has been very informative. I’m also actually pretty new to make up even though I shouldn’t be at my age. Basically I got good jeans from my mom and now I’m feeling I need help! I love the underlining Idea. And I need to do this on a fairly slim budget so if you could list those products may be at a variety of price points that would be helpful.

Hello! Thank you for your wonderful tutorials! I was wondering if you have any advice on how to apply properly an eyeliner (waterproof crayon or liquid pencil) in the inner corner of the eye (like the fox eyes) - what I've tried so far is to prime with eye primer, place a translucent or nude eyeshadow, then apply the pencil, but it smudges every time and it never sits in there, therefore I cannot wear this type of look at all and I would love to try it, but I don't know what to do exactly. Thank you kindly!
