Based purely on sound, the Sony earbuds win easily. However, if someone - like myself - doesn't like inner ear headphones then this mod is far more practical than an over-the-head headset
Thank you for the review, I am thinking about getting this. Does the mod mute or reduce the head haptics/rumble? It looks like you also have their clip on headphones. What are your thoughts on those? I still use Sony's 3d pulse headset with the PSVR2, but might switch to those if I get the comfort mod.
There's definitely a very small loss of impact from the haptics, but I personally found the feedback to be a little harsh before the mod. The sensation is still quite strong, but is now just a little more subtle more subtle. The short answer about the headphones is that I can never go back to the set that was bundled with the PSVR2. If you've got a top quality headset like the Pulse, then you probably have better sound quality than the clip-on headphones, but I use these for VR rather than my main headset (Razer Kaira pro) because they're convenient and comfortable. I haven't actually tried any VR covers yet. I find the Globular Cluster comfort mod to be ideal for all situations, especially as it has those easy to swap extra pads.
The Globular Clusters comfort mod is so versatile that I don't see the need to try adding to it or adjusting it, so I haven't tried any other accessories. I use my PSVR2 daily and I think it's just perfect with this installed 👍
I've tried it and disappointed really. It pushes too hard to the back of my head and for my friend who has low IPD it makes lenses push too harsh to the nose. And it is harder to put it on than standard one. Yeah it helps for the stability, but at what cost. And in the end I play mobile games in wireless VR
The comfort mod fits inside the PSVR2 and doesn't change the exterior geometry in any way, so anything which fit over it before the mod will also fit over it after the mod is installed.
Anybody who interacts with me directly on Discord knows that I have this as part of my permanent setup. It's made my headset far more comfortable and enjoyable to use 😁
It’s not hype. This mod is the absolute best you can buy, from an unsponsored psvr2 user. You can see the subreddit is also filled with positive reviews all from real people. I can actually play for more than two hours and still not feel exhausted. You sound goofy

I've heard nothing but praise from psvr2 users that have bought the globular cluster. It's just stupid that Sony made a Vr headset where the majority of people could do with the cluster to make the experience better
Weird name for a headset kit but I have it too - and the felt mods are fantastic! I also use the non-padded headstrap. Works great!
