Thank you for this video. Since my 30th birthday, six months ago I've been in tears with my non stop hair loss. After countless tests, my dermatologist diagnosed me with severe androgenetic alopecia. I've only been leaving the house in hats and have been too ashamed/terrified to consider wigs. But after watching your video and how composed and unafraid you are with wearing wigs, I feel ready to try. I was surprised when you said your hair was a wig, I couldn't tell! Prior to this I had no idea there was female hair loss, now that I'm in this group I love the time and work you and other ladies have put into these videos. They truly do help. Thank you.
Savannah Jane I’m not sure how I missed this? I am so truly touched! Thank you so much for taking the time to post, and hope a year later that you are having a blast with wigs enjoying a great hair day every day! Hugs~
Sahvanna I just read your post to Jill's video and hope you have found the courage to jump in to the hair adventure with us.. i found a kind lady who took me and showed me the difference between wigs and toppers and it made a world of difference i wish you well
Hi guys. Iv'e been wearing wigs for 50+ years, and I'm SO excited that I found Jill's site. She's so informative and I've learned a lot from Jill and the new wigs and products out there. Manufacturers are creating phenomenal elements to make wigs more comfortable and more natural than ever before. Hurray!! The only comment I would add to this very informative video is to be careful about placing your wigs on a foam head. Foam heads will most definitely not be the shape of your head and your wig with wearing will "remember" or take on the characteristics of your head. This is especially important for the lace front wigs. That strip is very delicate and once it is misshapen it won't sit snug and be invisible so just plop your wig on a drying stand or store flat. You can even store them in a ziplock for space saving, but remember to put a tag with it name and color in case you want to order that again!
Thank you Cathy! I didn't know this about the foam head! I don't have one....but, mostly because they kind of creep me out! haha! You are a wonderful asset to the wig community and would love for you to chime in when you can! Excellent post w/ great advice for us wig wearers! Thanks for watching!
@@gmed2 oh gosh I never got notification of this question wow a whole year ago! My favorite go to wig is "Straight Up With a Twist" by Raqu Welch. I feel most confidant in her products and the lace front is my favorite. I love the feel and appearance of the heat friendly fiber as the plain synthetics are too shiny for me at least. I hope you're having fun experimenting.
Thank you, Jill, you just answered so many questions I have about wigs and how to care for them. I am new to wigs and needless to say after buying 6 wigs, I have yet to gather the courage to wear them out in public because I don't feel they look natural and had no idea how to deal with them! I am losing my hair so very rapidly that is very scary. I have lost all self-confidence and I am so frustrated it is painful. Thank you again, you just gave me some hope.
One of my biggest hesitations has been which brand to buy but after watching your success and enthusiasm with Toni Brattin wigs I think I will start there. Thanks, Jill!👏😘😎
Hi Jill. I think you are my new best friend. I found you after buying my first wig and then learned that you are on Keto. I went on Keto 2 years ago and I have lost 60 lbs Never thought I could as I am 79. Wish I had done it 40 years ago. I will try to watch all your videos. Thank you. Andrée in Canada
Hi Andree, That is amazing! So very inspirational! Thanks so much for sharing. I seem to be in a weight loss stall...but, it's the big picture that I am trying to focus on. (or I'll go bonkers) Ha! I hope you find plenty of content on my channel that you enjoy and find helpful! Hugs to you!
OMG THANK you so much. I am new to wigs I am 50 and thought I would try them for fun YOU did the best ever in explaining. I will be watching all your videos
1. Wide tooth comb or wig brush 2. Foam head or wig stand 3. Conditioner 4. Gentle detergent such as Woolite 5. Dry shampoo 6. Detangler for synthetic fibers 7. Gel spritz 8. Contour creme 9. Square headbands
Thank you! I have been loosing my hair for a while and just wearing hats! I talked with my cousin because she wears wigs! She sent me 13 wigs! Wow yeah! But I have not worn them because I’m not sure how! I will now! So thank you again! This has really helped me!
Savannah, I hope you are now comfortable with your wig choice.(s). I know how self conscious one can feel with hair loss, especially if it is permanent. I bought my first one two years ago, but didn’t wear it much as I felt self conscious. Now I own 11, all different styles and colors and decided to celebrate the opportunity to change my hair with my attitude all the time. Best of luck!
I just discovered your video as I was searching for others that were anxious about their first wig. My first wig arrived today and is still unopened in the shipping box. After watching you I’m very much more at ease and informed. Thank you for the great tips and you’re reassuring voice and manner.😊.
Thank you Jill for all these details. I haven't got my first wig yet but have ordered some. I have hope now for looking pretty (to me) with aging and hair loss.
Never ever ever use hot water or even warm.use tepid or cold. Whatever the manufacturer says.i promise u that u will destroy your wig in that very moment
I only discovered your channel when my hair started leaving me in the dust. So now and then I do a deep dive into your older videos, while I keep up on your newer ones. All that to say I’m really glad I found this video! I’ve purchased 3 wigs and 1 topper so far, and have only been brave enough to wear the topper (as a bare minimum to cover the bare maximum of hair loss areas.) 😅 Living on SS, I obviously can’t afford the nicer wigs, but have had fun shopping “El’Cheapos” on places like Temu, etc. Still, as surprising as they have been, I’ve been too scared to wear them, not knowing what to DO with them, lol. So this has been great! (finding this buried treasure video) Thank you! 🤗
Jill - you give me Goose bumps! Thank you so much for all the fabulous comments you share with your Followers about SqHair Bands!!! They are a super accessory that gives us all confidence. Have a Happy Fall!
I started a comment and dont know what happened to it. Anyway I will try again. I've suffered from hairloss a very long time. Mainly top and right side of my head. My natural hair is fine and curly. About 3 weeks ago I ordered jon renau ignite in fs12s8 and love it. I ordered wig grips because I found the wig didnt feel secure. The grip helped alot. Today I wore it out to grocery store for the first time and loved it. You have taught me so much in the past month about wigs and expectations of wearing a wig. I also tried the look you did with Anastasia glam palette and it came out nice. I have watched other wig youtubers but you are my favorite. Thank you for teaching that caucasian women can wear wigs too. Xox
Jill, I have been wearing wigs for quite some time but wanted to watch this video as you can never have too many tips in your wig toolbox. Great video with wonderful suggestions especially regarding the damage incurred using any shampoo products. I also just want to ask if you have ever thought about a career in radio or tv...you have an amazing voice with naturally perfect enunciation, pitch and tone.
Thank you so much. I’m trying to learn all I can about caring for the wigs I have as I fully transition into wearing wigs. This was so very helpful. I have ruined a few wigs already, so I will take this to heart.
This is so kind of you to take the time and post! I really appreciate it, and am so happy you found this helpful! Made my night! I hope you find others you like as well. ;) Hugs to you, and have a wonderful evening!
Happy Christmas and Thank You. Just got my first wig this past week. I was overwhelmed by all the available wig products so I genuinely appreciate this video. My new wig is Delaney by Envy. I bought thinning shears, wig caps, hairnets, a drying rack, a wig brush for synthetic hair, some spray dry shampoo and some of the got2b "adhesive"jell Patti talks about. The beauty supply places I went to did not have John Renau products, so I will have to order that stuff at a later date, although I really like your idea of woolite and fabric softener, tbh.
I use Jon Renau or Estetica wig shampoo and conditioner on my wigs. I tried the fabric softener and could not live with the smell. I have never had the first problem. I wash my wigs after about fourteen wearings and hang them upside down overnight for drying. I do not buy HD fibers.
I've been considering wigs for at least a couple of years..The last few months I have been more than frustrated, styling my hair to look decent only to have the slightest wind or rain ruin it for the day! I am so intrigued by your videos. I love your presentations! Looking forward to viewing more...
Hi there! I FEEL your frustration because that is EXACTLY why I decided to take the jump into the wig pond! I think you need to just do it! Think of it as a fun, new journey! You will be able to 'finish' your getting ready routine with beautiful hair! I think it's fun...another accessory really. Yes, at first it's a bit daunting going out in the real world with your wigs...but, it's just something you are going to have to make your mind up to just not caring and get out there! Who cares what people think! You have been tossing this around for a couple years...something is making you ponder this....I think it's time. ;) Let me know...keep me updated. Thanks for watching, and I hope you find other videos here that are helpful.
Wow...Square Headbands! What brilliant person thought of this??? I haven't even seen one on yet but I cannot tell you myself how many years (40+) I've wished I could wear a headband. The back of my head is FLAT FLAT FLAT from crown to neck. So I have to try these. COOL!!!
Jill, I Love, your wig that you are wearing in this video! Wish I was a stylist too. I have 3 wigs and still don't have tge confidence to wear out. Yours us gorgeous!
Fabric softener is what I have always used to detangle and comb my daughters dolls hair. It works great for that. Idk if the hair is similar or not. I am very new to wigs. I too use to be a hair dresser.
What is the best type of wig to buy and the best place to buy them. I live in a rural area. I have extremely thinning hair and need to buy a wig. BTW is that a wig you are wearing in this video? I love it.
Hi Jill ! Thanks for the very helpful information on caring for our wigs. Love the shaded praline on you and the pretty fall colored sweater. I'm looking forward to the leaves changing colors and some good cool fall weather. Take care and have a great weekend !!!
I love Fall..my favorite season. BUT...what I don't like about Fall...are the spiders! NOT looking forward to them! You have a great weekend too! Thanks so much for watching!
Hi @Jill Lynn Beauty Therapy, do you have an updated video of this? i am buying my first wig and really need to know what I should get with it. Is this video your most current one??
Great! Securing my wig was the biggest challenge for me in the beginning. That is a matter of experimenting. You will figure it out! I don't seem to have one of those 'made for wigs' heads. Ha! I wish I were one of those people who can just adjust those straps in back and plop it on and go! Most people find they do need to secure it in some fashion...either IT STAYS, wig tape, clips (sew in), Wig Grips can also work great for many! You'll figure it out, though! Good luck!
great info im waiting on my first wig to come in the mail its not the best wig just my first trial adventure thanks for sharing this info, i really did learn a lot
Very informative for first-timers. I had no idea you were a hair stylist. Do you realize that you may have a great and valuable career as a wig stylist? Honestly, I have wigs that I would love to get trimmed because I'm danger with a scissor. If you lived near me, I would be at your door! But--I would also add for a first timer to get a good tweezer so that the part of the wig could be manipulated to make it look more realistic--and powder to match the skintone so there will be no line of demarcation. Got 2B glued is also wonderful to keep the edges down from lifting.
Catherine Urbanski Yes, I was going to bring out all my secure a wig thangs...but, decided to just add the link to my video where I talk exclusively about those things instead. Tweezers! Another great idea I missed! ;) I can see a part two in my future! Thanks for watching!
Thank u so much for being here with all ur good advice . I just purchased my first wig and now I know what I need to keep it nice. I’ll be getting that woolite and fabric softener asap thx again .If I have other questions s can I come back and ask u ?
Hi Jill, Just ordered my first wig today.. Do the Woolite and Fab softener work on synthetic wash and wear wigs as well ? I'm both excited and terrified to go out in a wig. I have been experiencing thinning to an extreme, can no longer wear bangs that I love so much, your video was so helpful and very informative thank you so much, u are my new go2 wig girl 💙
Love your videos on wigs. I am new to wigs and you have helped me so much. You look great in every wig! Can you please let me know where you get your square headbands?
thank you so much do you have an updated list? has this changed in 2 years. what comfortable band or cap do you recommend? and have you tried the water and fabric softener in a spray bottle on the RW HD wigs?
Can you tell us what kind or not kind of shampoo you use or don’t use and do you use the Woolite and what kind of fabric softener you use? Do you use Downey and how much of each do you use? I’m new to all of this bc I am starting chemo and I need all the help I can get plz?!
Hi. Love ALL of your videos. Finally decided to purchase a wig, but it is not heat friendly. What CAN I do as far as styling? Once it is drying can I curl it with regular curlers? Is it safe to have my hairdresser trim it to my style? Thank you so very much.
As a senior, my nature hair is thin and I have it cut just below my ears. I bought a wig and returned to Amazon as the color was horrible. I like the bob cut in champagne or honey blonde. I do not want grey or silver. Also, I have a small head. I live in Florida and need a much lighter weight wig. I have googled but only found one I like but over 1000.00. Can you make a recommendation?
I love the wig you are wearing - do you have a tutorial on this wig - if so where could I find it - let me know what you are wearing - as I love the style and color - thanks in advance - have loved finding you - your personality and style is absolutely the best on the web
The bangs are a bit longer that my own hair and the color is light silver. I need to clean the bangs. The whole wig doesn’t need a washing, just the bangs, from make up. I have since realized that i don’t need to use as much make up when wearing the wig. I love the wig. It is a NOW wig! Thank you for ypur info. Im 72 and because of a shoulder injury I really can’t fix my short hair.
How often do you wash a wig ? Thank you for these videos ! I havent gotten a wig yet as I'm. Debating whether to get one .. Enjoy your week !! Mary )ou
Hey Jill! I love all of your videos so much, I watch them all the time Bc you’re just so informative and your helper hair (in each video) looks amazing! You’re beautiful. Question: if I straighten my belletress rose Ella hair (HD fibers), will it go back to the beach waves again once I wash it again? I’m really nervous to straighten it bc I don’t want to ruin the beautiful texture it came in. Please help! Also: could you please do a video showing how to cut a wig/topper at home for those of us who are not stylists? I’d love some basic tips at least, so that I can help thin out some pieces or cut it shorter, etc. Thank you!! ❤️
New sub! Thanks for the vid. My very 1st wig will be here tmrw! Strangely nervous. Lol. The wig-Drew Wig by Jon Renau | Heat Resistant, Monofilament, Lace Front The product ( for now)-Mousse for Wigs | Brandywine Wig Mousse for Synthetic & Human Hair Have you used that mousse? I think I’m nervous about wig being shiny. Because if so I need to fix that asap before wearing!!
I have 2 synthetic blonde haired wigs, so may be using a dry shampoo on them will make them look more realistic? One of them is not a real "fakey" blonde color and the other just MAY look "fakey" blonde.
can you tell me the name of the wig you have on in this video and where to buy it? It is the style I have worn for years and it suits me. I am a newbie buyer and have not got my first one yet. I really liked your video.
Noreen Gregory Hi there! I am wearing Ignite by Jon Renau in Shaded Praline. I try and remember to put what I am wearing down in the comment box if you are ever curious about what wig I am wearing you can find it there! Thank you so much for watching, and hope you find others you enjoy!
It’s Ignite by Jon Renu in 12fs8 Shaded Praline. Many much cheaper versions comes in most of the other ‘budget’ styles, some without the permatease. It’s a really nice style and suits pretty much all face shapes. My daughter won’t let me buy it as she says it’s a ‘Karen’ wig 😩. I felt fabulous in it, sassy and sexy, but she totally refused!!
Hi Jane! You know when you start layering stuff on your lips...and the end result is nice, but you will never be able to replicate it again?....that's probably is what happened this day! Haha! Here is how I THINK it went down: LOL 1st I lined with my Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude liner Than I felt bold...and went in with my RA POPPIE lip gloss Went HOLY CRIPES!! And followed it up with a layer of RA Belinni. (the coral) FINALLY recorded a video (a different one)...and then before this one I put on a FOIL lip gloss call VIP by Makeup Geek and BAM that is what you see here! HAHA! Are you sorry you asked? LOL
Hi. I'm looking for a color match for Jon renau Alia wig in 8rh14. I'm looking to buy a Jon Renau Carrie human hair wig and I DO NOT want any Red!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I am 53 I was sick for along time ,my hair started falling out and getting thinner .it looks horrible , I tried on a wig my friend got .I just looked to big for me u could tell it was a wig ..help I want a wig I want to feel good again about myself .I can not afford expensive .so any tips any advice ?
Thanks to watching your Gab Shesh videos, I now know the importance of product and styling. Before experimenting, I would just use a little hairspray on top (like my regular hair) and go (often disappointed). You gave me courage to play around and now everything has changed. It's miraculous, really. Kind of like how you felt when you discovered the magic of fabric softener from someone else. Thank god for hairstylist background, that's all I can say. P.S. Please, please, please make a video and teach us how to cut fringe and layer. P.P.S. Love the deeper lip color (a change from your nudes). You look stunning.
Please tell me your name is Wendalina...because that is SO pretty! I am tickled to know that you were inspired to get in there and play with your wigs w/ styling products! Doesn't it change your wigs to become more 'you'; not just something out of the box? I love this comment! Thanks for watching, and for taking the time to post! Hugs~ (thank you for your very sweet compliment)
I really want to get into wigs. I am 67 yo and do not have any hair loss or thining. I just would love to be able to put on a wig instead of taking so much time styling my own hair. My question is if I wear a wig often, will this be detrimental to my real hair?
Thank you for this video. I wondered if you might have any advice for someone like me that cannot afford to spend $200 on a wig; Where might I get a semi descent wig? I am low income. I appreciate your help with the tips. A Godsend.
Great Video, Jill! Even though I've been wearing wigs for about 1 1/2 years, I've learned lots of tips from your! I did purchase a HD wig (Classic Cut by Raquel Welch-a little cheapie) I feel like a complete klutz when trying to style it! Do you have a video on styling, curling, etc. a HD fiber wig? I can't remember! That is my only HD wig I have so far, the rest are plain synthetic. Thanks!! :)
Thank you! I am so tickled that you have learned a few tips from watching! I haven't done a video on how to style (w/ heat) a wig...mostly because I never seem to want to use heat and style my HD wigs! Haha! I have seen Patti style her Ignite wig w/ heat....AMAZING! She turned that wig into something very different...beautiful!
I know I’m very late to this game, but thanks for this info! I just bought my first wig and it’s a Jon Reneau sp? I purchased it from a wig shop and it did not come with a comb or a little wig net in the box. Also they suggest only to bring it back there for washing around every 30 wears. Haven’t worn it yet because I’m feeling like it looks too fake still. 😞
Hi Lisa! Well, it may not have come with a comb because it is not a heat-friendly fiber. Only wigs that are HF come w/ a comb. Wig shops are there to help you...reach out to them if you are struggling with it. ;)
@@JillLynnBeautyTherapy thank you Jill 🥰 I’m going to make an appointment with them and get the lace cut. When I was there Friday the owner had two elderly ladies, who seemed like friends staying for the entire day in the chairs. A new girl helped me in a small corner with picking one out but that’s all she could do. What I’m doing before going back is trying to do a bit of research on how to wear it, things I need, how to clean it…any info I can gather before going back so that I don’t just take their word for it. I do want to care for it properly. I asked her for one of the new wigs with the full lace front and she told me they were awful and very uncomfortable and that NO ONE wants them. Should have been my first clue to go elsewhere but I wanted what I wanted and it was 4pm on Friday 😜. Oh well. If I love it, I’ll go elsewhere for another. Have you tried full lace front???
@@lisaamirant5595 I would go somewhere else. Do not trim the lace. If it truly is a Jon Renau… they do not need trimming. I should clarify: The should NOT be trimmed.
Hi Jill I'm still thinking about buying my first wig. Do you recommend trying the wig on before purchasing or did you buy your first wig on the internet?
Hi Leanne! I did buy mine on the internet. ;) You know...I am sure it would be helpful, if for no other reason but to see the colors in person. I CAN say that I didn't like it when I first put it on. IF I would have tried it on in person....I would have left without one, and may never have started my wig journey. Thanks for watching, and good luck...it is addicting so beware! Ha!
Leanne Janicki new too and thinking about buying my first wig! We have a wig store about 15 miles away and thinking of laying an appt! Did you go into a store or just jump in and buy on internet
Very well done! ❤️. I do have one question, what about hair spray? Is there a hair spray for wigs or can you use regular hair spray? Just wondering as it always seems there are a few little fly away hairs that are SO aggravating! 😉. Xxxx, MYRA 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
Hi Myra! Hair spray is a bit tricky in the wig world! Ha! You shouldn't use non-wig spray on synthetic fibers (although some do, but I haven't been brave enough to attempt). ;) I use the Jon Renau Holding Spray...and didn't like it at first. It works a lot better with other styling products, and if you use dry shampoo in your wigs, you will find it helps A LOT with your styling products in general. Yes, those fly a ways that straggle in the face drive my nuts! Even product doesn't handle all of them. I will literally pull them out if they aggravate me enough. ;)
Thanks for the tips on the wigs I just have one that I bought when I had my disability settlement I always wanted to have auburn hair and the one time I tried to dye it it's stained my naturally blonde hair purple the only time I've ever colored my hair in my life so that's why I bought an Auburn wig but I've literally only wore it twice and I keep it in the box now you said not to keep it in the box why is that??? On a side note I lived in Miami 3 years and I'm so disappointed that I didn't buy a wig they have wig shops all over and they are so inexpensive for real hair too so I really regret not buying a couple more while I was living there LOL
Hi Ssue, iv naturally bright orange hair.!! Am now early 60's and it's still bright orange, with quite a lot of grey through it. You try matching a hairpiece or half wig to that combination!! Impossible, so, with recent diabetes diagnosis, and hair fall like you won't believe, iv gone for a full wig, still not arrived yet, dark auburn with highlights, I'm scared to death it will look like a wig. Hope you get some confidence, me too, take care. Xx
I am exploring wigs because my hair has gotten so thin. I have watched many videos on wigs but I would like to see different types of wigs . Which kind are the best kind and what to look for when you want a certain kind. How are they listed on the web site? I part my hair on the left instead of the right. I would like a wig that I can change the part and one that you cant tell I'm wearing one.
I have a paula young wig Danielle . I bought a wig grip on ebay.. I want to wear it more often. Its on a foam head now. I bought all the stuff for it. My first wig was from A&S I used regular shampoo. If this ruins my wig I will certainly report it to Bbb. Thanks for your advise.

CJ Dewitt I’m in the same boat! Did you end up buying a wig? If so can I ask what one and thoughts or tips for me??? Thank you
1. Wide tooth comb or wig brush
2. Foam head or wig stand
3. Conditioner
4. Gentle detergent such as Woolite
5. Dry shampoo
6. Detangler for synthetic fibers
7. Gel spritz
8. Contour creme
9. Square headbands
Thanks Jill!! This was perfect for me to hear!!
Jill, try using a mister that is sold for paper crafting. It is a very fine spray because it’s meant to be used on paper

I’ve purchased 3 wigs and 1 topper so far, and have only been brave enough to wear the topper (as a bare minimum to cover the bare maximum of hair loss areas.) 😅
Living on SS, I obviously can’t afford the nicer wigs, but have had fun shopping “El’Cheapos” on places like Temu, etc. Still, as surprising as they have been, I’ve been too scared to wear them, not knowing what to DO with them, lol.
So this has been great! (finding this buried treasure video) Thank you! 🤗
Thank you so much for providing this information for wig wearers. : ) Very helpful styling tips / tools. Wishing you well!!! xoxo - Andrea
AWESOME ABSOLUTELY AWESOME BEAUTIFUL LECTURES ON THE DIFFERENT USES OF WIGS ....WELL DONE....
By far the best newbies info I've come across thank you so so much for this and all the links and keeping it simple. I enjoy all your videos .
Xox
Just starting my journey Jill....many thanks for everything you have recommended.!
Wow Jill! So helpful. I wish I would have seen this BEFORE purchasing all of the unnecessary products. Thank you for saving me money in the future :)
So happy I found your videos on wigs & makeup! Quick question - What dry shampoo do you recommend for darker wigs to reduce shine?
Thanks for the great info, I may need to get on this sooner than later with my hair loss.
Thanks for watching, and I hope you find other videos here that are helpful.
annyrie did you end up buy one??? Can you help with tips or suggestions
Wow...Square Headbands! What brilliant person thought of this??? I haven't even seen one on yet but I cannot tell you myself how many years (40+) I've wished I could wear a headband. The back of my head is FLAT FLAT FLAT from crown to neck. So I have to try these. COOL!!!
is that a wig she is wearing?? wow, looks good!
I love it.
Your wig is beautiful !!! Do you mind tell me what brand do you wear and where you buy them
Furniture polish also gives shine and helps with combing and styling. You can also make a wig oven to style.
I love those wig stands you use for wigs.
Marla Robinson They work nicely, and portable...since they come apart... and can be stored away easily.
You are so very helpful. I appreciate all your videos. God bless you!
So happy you find my videos helpful to you! I appreciate you tuning in, and taking the time to write and post this! Really makes my day. ;)
Hi @Jill Lynn Beauty Therapy, do you have an updated video of this? i am buying my first wig and really need to know what I should get with it. Is this video your most current one??
Thank you so much! You answered all my questions as a newbie wig wearer! Now on to how to keep my wig secure!!
Good luck!
Wig grip head band work great
great info
im waiting on my first wig to come in the mail
its not the best wig
just my first trial adventure
thanks for sharing this info, i really did learn a lot
Ditto
Very informative for first-timers. I had no idea you were a hair stylist. Do you realize that you may have a great and valuable career as a wig stylist? Honestly, I have wigs that I would love to get trimmed because I'm danger with a scissor. If you lived near me, I would be at your door!
But--I would also add for a first timer to get a good tweezer so that the part of the wig could be manipulated to make it look more realistic--and powder to match the skintone so there will be no line of demarcation. Got 2B glued is also wonderful to keep the edges down from lifting.
Catherine Urbanski I totally forgot to add fill in powder! I had it with me too! Oye!
Catherine Urbanski Yes, I was going to bring out all my secure a wig thangs...but, decided to just add the link to my video where I talk exclusively about those things instead. Tweezers! Another great idea I missed! ;) I can see a part two in my future! Thanks for watching!
Im not new to wigs, but get alot from your videos..They have helped me do more with my wigs.. { hugs }
Thank you Rita! I am tickled to know I have inspired you to enjoy your wig experience a little more! Made my day!
Thank u so much for being here with all ur good advice . I just purchased my first wig and now I know what I need to keep it nice. I’ll be getting that woolite and fabric softener asap thx again .If I have other questions s can I come back and ask u ?
Jill I forgot to ask this question my wig has a netting fabric just a little piece rite in front what do I do with that material?
WOW!! THANK YOU!! Absolutely the most informative and helpful video on this topic out there! (And I have watched plenty)
Thank you! I am so happy you found this helpful! I appreciate you letting me know. Have a great day, and thanks for watching! ;)
Love your videos. So much helpful, in- depth advise. So glad I found you!!
Anne Whitlock thank you so much! I am happy you found me and thrilled you find my content helpful to you!
Excellent! Thank you! Very informative!!
Hi Jill,
Just ordered my first wig today..
I like the idea of hair accessories. Where do you get the square headbands you mentioned and do you have a tutorial on that?
thank you so much
do you have an updated list? has this changed in 2 years.
what comfortable band or cap do you recommend? and have you tried the water and fabric softener in a spray bottle on the RW HD wigs?
Can you tell us what kind or not kind of shampoo you use or don’t use and do you use the Woolite and what kind of fabric softener you use? Do you use Downey and how much of each do you use? I’m new to all of this bc I am starting chemo and I need all the help I can get plz?!
Hi. Love ALL of your videos. Finally decided to purchase a wig, but it is not heat friendly. What CAN I do as far as styling? Once it is drying can I curl it with regular curlers? Is it safe to have my hairdresser trim it to my style? Thank you so very much.
I'm looking to get my first wig. Thanks for all this terrific information.
You are so kind to post this...I am very happy you find my content helpful! Good luck on your wig journey! It is very addicting. Ha!
I just realized this was three years old 😅 but I 😘 the wig you're wearing here! 💕
I love the wig you are wearing - do you have a tutorial on this wig - if so where could I find it - let me know what you are wearing - as I love the style and color - thanks in advance - have loved finding you - your personality and style is absolutely the best on the web
Do you gave demos on how to style your wigs for different looks?
Thank you so much great information
Thank you Jill 🫶🏻🇨🇦
The bangs are a bit longer that my own hair and the color is light silver. I need to clean the bangs. The whole wig doesn’t need a washing, just the bangs, from make up. I have since realized that i don’t need to use as much make up when wearing the wig. I love the wig. It is a NOW wig! Thank you for ypur info. Im 72 and because of a shoulder injury I really can’t fix my short hair.
Love your videos...what do you suggest for RW wigs that scratch your forehead?
Haven't watched yet, but look at you with a darker lipstick! It looks great! Now, to watch.
I know....I got bold! hee hee!
Jill, you look great bold. You should do it again. 💋
How often do you wash a wig ?
Thank you for these videos !
I havent gotten a wig yet as I'm. Debating whether to get one ..
Enjoy your week !!
Mary )ou
Do you still agree with using fabric softener for your wigs, I have heard conflicting things about that
Thank you!! ❤️
Just found your video where you show us how to cut the hair and more, thank youuuu!!!
New sub! Thanks for the vid. My very 1st wig will be here tmrw! Strangely nervous. Lol.
The wig-Drew Wig by Jon Renau | Heat Resistant, Monofilament, Lace Front
The product ( for now)-Mousse for Wigs | Brandywine Wig Mousse for Synthetic & Human Hair
Have you used that mousse? I think I’m nervous about wig being shiny. Because if so I need to fix that asap before wearing!!
Where do I go if I want to buy one of the Toni Brattin Pixie wig?
Would be helpful to see how you put the Square Headband on and when you would use it.
I have 2 synthetic blonde haired wigs, so may be using a dry shampoo on them will make them look more realistic? One of them is not a real "fakey" blonde color and the other just MAY look "fakey" blonde.
Great video. I would like to see you do a video on how you style your ignite. :)
I would love to do that! I will put that on my list...thanks so much, Julie!
Hello! I tried using the link for the beautimark spray but Amazon says it no longer carries it. Do you recommend another spray instead?
Excellent video, thank you :)
Woolite Fabric softener that’s a phenomenal thank you
can you tell me the name of the wig you have on in this video and where to buy it?
Which lip gloss are you wearing?? I am absolutely loving my nude gloss!!!
Hi Jane! You know when you start layering stuff on your lips...and the end result is nice, but you will never be able to replicate it again?....that's probably is what happened this day! Haha! Here is how I THINK it went down: LOL
1st I lined with my Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude liner
Than I felt bold...and went in with my RA POPPIE lip gloss
Went HOLY CRIPES!! And followed it up with a layer of RA Belinni. (the coral)
FINALLY recorded a video (a different one)...and then before this one I put on a FOIL lip gloss call VIP by Makeup Geek and BAM that is what you see here! HAHA! Are you sorry you asked? LOL
Hi. I'm looking for a color match for Jon renau Alia wig in 8rh14. I'm looking to buy a Jon Renau Carrie human hair wig and I DO NOT want any Red!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I'm so angry! I had this red wigs a few months ago, but I couldn't get the tangles out, so I threw it out 😢
Thank you for a great video. Where did u get the wig you're wearing?
I am 53 I was sick for along time ,my hair started falling out and getting thinner .it looks horrible , I tried on a wig my friend got .I just looked to big for me u could tell it was a wig ..help I want a wig I want to feel good again about myself .I can not afford expensive .so any tips any advice ?
On one of your washing wig videos you mentioned a Kenra product. I can’t find the video and would like to know the product.
Thank you! Very helpful.
How much fabric softener and water do you use? What part softener to water? Which Woolite?
Hello! This may be helpful: th-cam.com/video/4azufhj9_Dg/w-d-xo.html
Fabulous real advice thank you so much !
Thanks Jill. Just amazing advice. 🙏🏻
What kind of dry shampoo do you use?
Where to buy a square headband please?
Try blow drying on low and warm setting really helps ok
I have a paula young wig Danielle . I bought a wig grip on ebay.. I want to wear it more often. Its on a foam head now. I bought all the stuff for it. My first wig was from A&S I used regular shampoo. If this ruins my wig I will certainly report it to Bbb. Thanks for your advise.
Could I use dreft to wash my wig.
