  • Hello guys! How to do the CO2 test to determine if you have a blown head gasket and how to prevent such a thing from happening!? In this video I talk about the importance of maintaining antifreeze or coolant in any engine of any make and model. Consider that maintenance is always cheaper than repairs.

    Another way to save these engines is to fit a CF2 manifolds without those precats .. In hot weather with an lpg system in ,it tends to fail the gaskets really fast , You will pass the emmisions with the main cats in if they are healthy... Im also not a fan of lpg so you going to install it at minimum place an upgraded radiator, as these engines run quite hot.. nice video btw 👍, hopefully this engine will be saved .

    If you tried with the special cap with the kit tester comes would the coolant boiled and split all over the place?I think and without fan kicks at lower temperature the colour would change so you could avoid this mess.

      You can't use just the concentrate, you need to delute it 50% with distilled water. As Bruno says, unless it is already pre-mixed in the bottle.

    Also, the most common Fiat/Alfa/Lancia/Ferrari boiling problem is bad cap for the expension bottle. They fail, and can’t keep the pressure. What happens to a closed system with hot water when it looses pressure? It starts to boil. Luckily new cap is a cheap fix!

    My friend has a 2005 BMW 520d M47 engine with 150 hp. He loses a bit of collant all the time, but there are no visible leaks. He thinks it might the the EGR cooler gasket, but there is no realy a way to confirm that unless he replaces it. I told him to check the expansion tank cap, and possible cracks in the expansion tank. The EGR is "turned off" and the DPF is removed, all by the previous owner. Not sure in what way the EGR is turned off. Blocked? Can that cause the excess pressure inside the EGR cooler and damage the gasket?

    • @alfaromeonoproblem
      @alfaromeonoproblem  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello. No additional pressure is created. Egr cooler is the main issue in those. And it is just awful to replace.. better to do it now before oil goes to the coolant

    Hey, can you help me with this. A week ago I changed the wheels to a summer set, and on one of the wheels the lug nuts where squeaking while tightening them. I screw them in by had as much as I can, an they go in no problem and without any noise. Then I put the car on the ground and tighten them with the torque wrench, but they squeel and because of the friction the torque is lower. I take the wheel off, align it again, do the same thing again but the same thing happens.
    And today, at low speed in stop and go traffic, I heard the sound that at first I though it was a damaged tyre (I did hit a pot hole with that wheel, some 10-15 km before. But it turned out that all 5 lug nuts where loose. I tightened them again with regular wrench, and they are squeaking again.
    WHat causes this and how can I fix it? :/
    I am thinking, worn threads on the nuts, or the nub. But all 5 and all on one wheel? :I
    I am going to my parents tomorrow, 25 km, most of it is highway. So I am warried untill I get there. There I will take the lug nuts off and inspect and clean the treeads at least.
    I say lug nuts, but of course, I mean wheel bolts. And they also crack (sound) when tightening. Oh and I hit the pothole with the same wheel, just after I had pressure washed the car.
    I think I should get new bolts, just to be safe. But the original ones are only availabe from the dealer and are not cheap at all. I found BIMECC ones, but are the M14x1,5x28 the correct ones (I have 17 and 18 inch original Alfa wheels)?

    • @DashCamSerbia
      @DashCamSerbia 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      OK, I think I have fixed it. I cleaned the wheel bolts with wire brush and also the threads inside the hub. And niw the bolts no longer squeal when I tighten them.

    • @alfaromeonoproblem
      @alfaromeonoproblem  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello. How are you? That is because of corrosion. Clean out very well the bolt holes bit the bolts should be new, because cleaning them will remove the plating. Use anti seize to prevent that again. Lots of it

    • @DashCamSerbia
      @DashCamSerbia 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@alfaromeonoproblem Thanks. I cleaned the bolt holes with steel brush and bolts with brass brush. Although one bolt was not very good so I had to use steel bursh n it as well. I mean, if the bolt is corroded, then the zinc plating on it is already gone anyway. I measured the lenght of the bolt threads and it is about 19 mm, not 28. And the spacing between the threads seems to be 1 mm, not 1.5, so I don't know...
      About the anti-seize, in my oppinion it should never be used on the wheel bolts, as it will lubricate them. Because of that, the tightening torque will be larger than what is set on the torque werench, and because of lubrication they can loosen themselves more easily.
