"And then the piano, beer, and songs; '2080's lyrics written quickly and messily on a sheet of paper; Lyn relaxing on her hammock; hands, glasses, and bottles clinking on the floor as if in response to the neighbors reprimands. A joyful hippie communion..."

12 years later and this remains one of my most beloved clips on the internet. Campaign to bring Yeasayer back.
I come back to this a few times each year just to remind myself I gotta live a little. This and their other video.
100% agreed
This thing make me so joyful every time.. I hope they’ll never delete it and that I’ll be able to watch it again in 10 years, 20 years, 30 years...
"I'm so blessed to have spent that time with my family and the friends that I love.
In my short life, I have met so many people I deeply care for."
Amazing and deeply moving.
man im not even gonna try to express how awesome that was
I don't think yeasayer realizes that these two takeaway videos are some of the best music videos ever made.
these people make amazing content with almost every band/musician they take on. they reveal the essence of each artist and lay it bare for us to view and listen in a completely open and naked setting. so vulnerable but still strong and powerful.
15 years later and I'm back here to say this is still the case.
This is more metal than any other thing I’ve ever seen. Miss these talented guys terribly.
Here we are, nearly 2022 and these gentlemen are still in my favorite acts - cheers from Belgium / Vermont USA
6 years later and I still return to watch this all.the.time. Simply brilliant.
10 years later and I do too
@@silviarutland7624 Memories
Same. Still one of the best performances.
it's amazing.
12 years later and here I am still, pure magic
Just found this 12 years later..
Better late than never, am I right? Guys you're amazing
Breaks my heart that these guys called it quits. Amazing work
they are soooo incredibly inspiring.
[Intro x2]
I went out, past the willow and the well
Caught my breath upon the hill
At the edge of the domain
And I went down, and fell down
And when I got up
I’m at the red cave
And without sound as if I had been put under a spell
She led me to her whirlpool
Warm despite a winter’s day
[Hook x8]
Mary’s house in the hollow of the white hazel
Rapid whirlpool
And the church of the red cave
[Outro x5]
I’m so blessed to have spent the time
With my family
And the friends I love
In my short life
I have met
So many people I deeply care for
take away show means that the artists don't just play at club or a concert hall but they take the shows with them. so they play in the subway or in a flat of a friend or something like this as you can see in the video. they also often use unusually things to perform their music which makes it even greater.
cant believe this videos as old as me that is crazy!! i’m so blessed to spent time with my family and the friends i love in my short life i have met so many people i deeply care for 😁
This video is an absolute treasure
"i'm so blessed to have spent this time with my family and the friends i love,
in my short life i have met so many people i deeply care for"
this is so uplifting.

these guys are the meaning of cool.
that is just cool in every sense of the word.
biggest regret of my life, i wish i was there.
I have a comment on here from 4 years ago...and I still come back to watch this sometimes. It always leaves me with a great feeling.
well if there's a little bit of heaven on youtube it was definitely this. i heart Yeasayer
this is music at its most natural rawness. amazing video
I'm quite certain that this is my favorite Takeaway show so far. The spontaneity & sheer fun the band is having just makes the video shine. :) Love it.
These guys are as cool as they are talented. And I don't think they even know how amazing they are.
I believe that more people need to watch this.
This is the way you gain respect as a musician, I bet no one in that metro disliked this, although they might not even like this kind of music. This is how music should be, pure and from the heart!
this is so great ! yeasayer turned folk drinking on the subway, so much love
I'm completely stunned.
This brings up the best of life!
This smile will last for another few hours i think :)
i HONESTLY love this video more than a lot of my favorite movies... seriously, it's pure magic
Absolutely fantastic
I am so blessed to have found this video, watch intensely, and like it, playing on repeat I have been, so many artists I appreciate this for!
Same here, man. I'm kinda freaking out. Those harmonies in 'Red Cave' are just wrecking me.
same.
this video is what made me get into yeasayer, i love them now.
When that guy slides down the stairway and the singer cracks up laughing ;D Love that ^^

We're having fun in the metroooooooooo!
Redcave will be played at my funeral.
It really is talent when all you need is a spoon, a railing and your voices to sound good.
@MrSoapx it's such a simple yet beautiful line hey..
i felt the magic moment
ahh heck yeah!
I want to go live in france just incase i happen upon a band performing on the subway or somewhere for LaBlogotheque
I wish it was like this when I get the subway to work...
@stickydog480 Very well put.
hehe you pretty much nailed it
and also, a take-away-show is where bands like YEASAYER, Seasick Steve, etc. go out and play live on the streets
i can send you the link :)
Oh! Thank you! A light bulb just went off in my head!
@grahams112 Preferably on a DVD also!

very impressive concert attendance. all in Portland?
The world seemed simpler 15 years ago
I did. I dont know but I hope you're well friend
i dont understand why they dont do a whole album all stripped down to the bone like these songs.they are obviously geniouses at it.these guys know exactly what the fuck they are doingPERIOD
ha! I love these versions better than the album ones :p
these are just TOUCHING.
&LaBlogotheque is only in Paris right? *sighs* bummer.
as they're walking to the metro, it's "No Need to Worry."
when they're on the metro, it's "Red Cave"
I agree, I would do it for free if I had a couple really really good shotgun mics and a nagra! :) These guys are awesome.
