You, like ALL gaming youtube channels forget. DVDs were made by Toshiba and Sony. therefore, you have to pay royalties every disc you make. Nintendo didn't want to give their rival any money. Hence Sega and Microsoft didn't do the same. What Nintendo messed up on a monumental scale was the failure to take advantage of their network and broadband adaptor.
I’ll always remember the GameCube as “my sisters game system.” Haha! She had one and played Mario Sunshine on it and some other games. I was playing Metal Gear.
The great thing about the Gamecube to me was, that it wasn‘t really popular in Germany compared to the PS2. Therefore, larger supermarkets regularly sold great games for just €20-€30. Like Splinter Cell PT/CT, Beyond Good & Evil, Resident Evil CV, Metal Gear Solid TS, Aggressive Inline, 007, Beach Spikers, Time Splitters, Tomb Raider, Rogue Squadron… The first console i could afford to own more than 15 games for. Superb system with some outstanding titles that i still enjoy playing on my emulation handheld…
I lost friends because I had the Gamecube. Some even threatened to break into my house and smash it, simply because I had it. They gave me an ultimatum, get rid of my Gamecube and buy a ps2 and Xbox all in one day, or be a loser who plays kiddy games on a baby system. Haven't spoken to 98% of them in 21 years. Those ps2 and Xbox owners took fanboy-ism to the extreme back then. Edit: Me and my late best friend wanted to test how far my Wave Birds signal could go. He had his Gamecube setup in his dads camper, and he told me to keep going, and keep going, and keep going. I eventually reached close to maybe 200+ feet from his dads camper, to the point I was almost falling into a river. That might be overstating a bit, but I did go pretty far.
"I lost friends because I had the Gamecube. Some even threatened to break into my house and smash it, simply because I had it." Who needs enemies with 'friends' like that?
@dancampbell5717 Yeah. High school was a different time back then. Christmas 2001 really brought out the worst in many people that I knew, and they continued being ass bags until we graduated. Those many all had a major shift in personality after that Christmas holiday and became the people I described up above, just because their parents could afford more expensive consoles. Thankfully, I haven't spoken to many of them in over 2 decades. I had enemies who didn't transform and treat me worse than garbage because I had a Gamecube. Hell, some of them actually treated me with a bit more respect (and hearing through the grapevine that they had Gamecubes as well 😁).
Little did your “friends” know that the GameCube has had a grand library compared to it’s predecessor and that games have now become ridiculously expensive to obtain.
@crazedlunatic43 Darn skippy. There were quite a few Gamecube games that I tried looking for during the early days of the Wii, and even then, they became either impossible to find or still fairly pricey. If Gamecube doesn't get added to Switch, then hopefully, it will see life in the next console after the Switch. Or (and this idea may suck), all of the greatest Gamecube games get remastered for the Switch. I know there's quite a few I would like to play again.
Myself and all my friends hated the GameCube controller. Most people I came across until about 2015 TH-cam didn't like the controller either. The love for it is weird
Same. I have one plugged in to the wii atm and I really like to avoid it as much as possible. It's very uncomfortable for me, layout of face buttons is very weird, and they are very shallow... Less said the better.
My first console, for my to this day it's the best one. I got it for Christmas 2004 and it came with Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid prime and Zelda Wind waker, apparently it was only 100 euros for everything.
I bought GameCube day one and was a fanboy. The disc size and it missing games like gta hurt. It was treated like the unpopular kid a lot. Had some fun games though. Eternal Darkness needs a remake.
I love the Gamecube. The connection to the GBA was interesting and clearly the prequel to the Switch. GBA and 3DS had a ton of support which just makes me disappointed with Switch support. I don't understand why Nintendo can't make more games, even if just 2D.

I've heard of all the Smash series games, people tend to want Melee's physics/style the most.
I personally don’t get its appeal at all, and I was there during its hype. When I tried to play it, I stopped after like 15 minutes then just went back to Ultimate.
It would be neat if he added a "hey all, Scott here." For these videos
We need a Wave Race sequel or remake!
GameCube was the nerdy girl that grows up hot. A lot of people miss out on a great experience
GameCube-chan is a cute nerdy anime girl, people underestimate her petite frame & don't realize how much of a waifu she is. The girl they made fun of had a great personality & she just kept getting better.

@@LAST_STAND_FAN Why the 5 Skulls? GameCube was easy to have in the early 2000s as were the small discs. I kept true to the analogy & enjoyed the games that were offered.
NHL hits 2001 is my favorite sports game of all time I recommend playing it with a friend even if you don’t care for hockey it’s super fun
You can access the menu screen while booting up the console by holding the A button.
This ain’t no snippet, this a godamn feature length video lol
The Dreamcast could play VCD movies, which were popular out in Asia. The original Japanese Dreamcast commercial featured a remote control for that very reason.
The GameCube was one of the best system released by Nintendo
I haven't laughed at a review so much ever, instantly subscribed! Sarcasm here is amazing.
I am offended Scott said no one remembers NHL HITZ 03
Fun fact, resident evil 4 was only ever released on gamecube and nothing else..........
I loved playing All-Star Baseball 2002 with my cousins
5:21 Apple being forced to do usb c on iphones now
Goddamned Diet Rite tricking me during the silhouette challenge...
Cartridges are exponentially more durable than fragile discs.
Sony did well in the Short term.
Nintendo did even better in the Long Term.
They did something smart with the Switch.
I’ll always remember the GameCube as “my sisters game system.” Haha! She had one and played Mario Sunshine on it and some other games. I was playing Metal Gear.
I don't even remember the original launch date. I just bought it for Melee when that came out.
It was supposed to be a snippet, a short….
Imagine an alternative future where Wii was released in 2001.
I love my purple lunchbox
The great thing about the Gamecube to me was, that it wasn‘t really popular in Germany compared to the PS2.
Therefore, larger supermarkets regularly sold great games for just €20-€30. Like Splinter Cell PT/CT, Beyond Good & Evil, Resident Evil CV, Metal Gear Solid TS, Aggressive Inline, 007, Beach Spikers, Time Splitters, Tomb Raider, Rogue Squadron…
The first console i could afford to own more than 15 games for.
Superb system with some outstanding titles that i still enjoy playing on my emulation handheld…
I can't believe the wavebird had a longer range than the original joycon.
@crazedlunatic43 Darn skippy.
One of the only consoles I’ve never owned. Always wanted one though.
I knew once that new Gamecube footage from Space World came out that tons of people would be making these videos lol
"That's Diet Rite" made me spit out my Diet Rite
😂😂😂 i love your narration 🤣 you're a funny guy. You deserve my sub 💪
4:47 said the same thing at age 13 😂 not really. I was too busy breaking n64 controllers playing no mercy
Scott ! This is supposed to go on your main channel!
My first console, for my to this day it's the best one. I got it for Christmas 2004 and it came with Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid prime and Zelda Wind waker, apparently it was only 100 euros for everything.
Purple shirt for the GameCube too
Game cube had the best controllers. I played Luigis mansion every other year since launch 😅
The GameCube controller is just a redesigned virtual boy controller
0:05 holy crap that NES is dirty. Is that rust?!
Scott I think it may be time to clean those GCCs
I listen to Scott's Snippets while I bath.
Yah, but it’s bulletproof!! Still have my son”s original! 🔥
Oh, bad ass!
I still to this day do not believe that number for N64 Sales. Everyone and their mother had a N64 in their house.
The GameCube was the best console with the best and most original games to date.
Nintendo just failed at marketing
I had a GameCube for Christmas that year I got smash bros
Fākyū dorufins !
Scott ages backwards
Hey Scott, Hear you like Resident Evil. I recommend (Evil Tonight), it's like RE but from a top down perspective.
Love you Scott :)
"I've never seen a star wars movie."
me neither, scott! keep being awesome
👍👍👍
Ironically the GameCube followed by ps2 were my most played consoles ever. Switch and PC is is a close 3rd and 4th
Cartridges were a much better user experience at the time. Instant loading and built in memory etc in nintendo 64 compared to ps1
It's weird seeing someone who wasn't old enough at the time report on a consoles history "as if they were there" ...
So rather than getting new ScottTheWoz we get some re-uploads to a new channel? OK then
GameCube is fucking great for some reason to me still
Que vídeo incrível Arvro!
I bought GameCube day one and was a fanboy. The disc size and it missing games like gta hurt. It was treated like the unpopular kid a lot. Had some fun games though. Eternal Darkness needs a remake.
RE Remake and RE 4 👀 that's good enough lol
I love the Gamecube. The connection to the GBA was interesting and clearly the prequel to the Switch.
GBA and 3DS had a ton of support which just makes me disappointed with Switch support. I don't understand why Nintendo can't make more games, even if just 2D.
Gamecube was not always the smallest console sony later released the ps2 slim
