hitting the heavy bag overtime will catch up to you take it from me. use to trained mainly on the heavy bag every day from 16 years old and only used the double end like 1-2 times a week. Always wrapped and used good gloves for wrist and knuckle protection. In my 30s i Noticed issues.my wrists bones were bulging out, numbness in fingers, elbows , shoulders and knuckles were all going out of whack. so at around 35 I Stopped hitting the heavy bag and sparring but kept shadow box, skipped and used double end mainly. Miraculously all the pain in joints slowly went away. I still hit the heavy bag once a week if even for only half HR but I train on the DE bag 5 times a week, no gloves only wraps for better accuracy on a 7inch ringside bag for bout an HR. No issues at all in any of my joints the next day and I'm 44 now. It's versatile and it's kept my hand eye, head movement,slips,parries , shoulder rolls all onpoint and my mind sharp..yeah u can't wail on it like a heavy bag but it's so much more slick looking and satisfying when I've hit the DE with a combo then shoulder rolled and counter punched,slipped and pivoted all in one sequence.

@@phonymontana4254 in a poverty place where some champions were born. It's just a heavy bag and your good to go. Manny pacquiao started with a sack purposely used for rice. Replaced it with sand and hanged on a tree.

Coming from someone closing in on 40, if hitting the heavy bad, invest in a soft strike bag. Really helps the wear and teat on your body.

I'd go with double end bag. It'll give you the timing and accuracy needed at the highest level. In all honesty though I made the best improvements in boxing the times when the gym was closed and my trainer said "run, jump rope, and shadow box."

I like having it all, I have a ringside heavy bag, reyes double end, and the Everlast speed bag platform the adjustable height one. And pads. But I have been building this gym for a minute. But it starts with the heavy bag

1. double double end bag - which is better than DBag. I am using ringside one. The price is right too.
2. Dripex standing heavy bag : pro - silent, con - limited moving.
3. slowtime reflex bag - still not shipped yet. waited over 2 months, will get few days later Yay!!!
If I choose only one, I would go with dd end bag.
and dont forget to jump rope and running!

I have a heavy bag, double end, A0 polyform aqua head hunter bag, and im thinking about getting the reflex bag next. Thank for the vids. Do you like the reflex bag or stick better?

I got the reyes double end, the 12 inch aquabag, the 18 inch aquabag, a fujin wall bag, and a spar bar wall unit... also the squared tape on the floor... that way if you do three rounds on each station... you got 18 rounds in. then add two rounds of rope and you got twenty rounds.... which is a good workout.

Hi I am not sure if you reply to comments on your older videos but I just got myself a century wavemaster but it was making too much noise at the base so Im going to return it. Would you recommend a reflex bag or a freestanding punching bag with spring technology for punching with less noise? I dont have access to something that can hold hanging heavy bag or double end bag :(. My main goal is fitness and would love your opinion on it. Love your contents btw :)

i have a heavy bag in my bedroom (im 16) took it down amd put a desk in its place, for me atleast the heavy bag gets so unbeleavble boring, my gym had a cobra bag witch for me atleast is the most fun and helps with better accuracy timing and slips
I love the double end bag bc of the better techniques speed and head movement unlike the heavy bag which is also just as fun to hit but sometimes you could have bad technique and it could mess up how you do

What's ur daily workout routine? Like do u stretch then run and then shadow box then heavy bag or whatever
Run 4-6 miles, 8-12 rounds heavy bag, 4 rounds double end or cobra, 4 rounds speed bag, push ups, plyometrics, ab and core work
I actually bought the spring from reedy kewlus and have been using it for a while now and I made my own cobra bag for under 100$ well worth it

When I was boxing , I would do 5 rounds of Top and Bottom Bag , 1 round of Speed Bag and 3 rounds of Heavy Bag : Top and Bottom Bag for speed and reflexes , Speed Bag for hand eye coordination , and Heavy Bag for Power - in my experience , you don't want to get too carried away with The Heavy Bag because it'll make you slow , but you do need to do some Heavy Bag to build your punching Power .

Carlo - I have a pretty nice home boxing gym. I have a Title Double End Bag, a Ringside Double-Double end bag, a Ringside 115lb Aqua bag and Ringside Elite Cobra Reflex bag. My question to you....How much better is the action on the Grodex or Fierce Reflex cobra bag vs the Ringside?? Thanks bro. I love your channel
Haven’t tried the grodex and fierce so couldn’t tell you
Personally I prefer the slip bag, mostly because (like the cobra or double end bag) it helps you practice defense and accuracy, and because you can probably make one out of household junk, for free. Actually right now I just hang up my jump rope and use the two handles as a double slip bag. Hit it hard and those handles start flying, and you have to be quick or you'll get hit.

No it won’t rip your ceiling up if mounted properly
If I had the space, heavy bag all the way. I train mainly muaythai ans the heavy bag would give me the best bang for buck.

I'm a heavy bag guy. But you can develop power, speed, reflexes, etc with Cobra bags.

For the double end bag if your basement ceiling is only 8 to 10 feet tall, is that enough more room for the cords to work they way they're suppose to or are they going to be way too slack
You can adjust them regardless the height of the ceiling. Just make them shorter and see how the rebound is
You can always knot the cords or buy shorter ones. My ceiling is about 8-10ft tall and I’m 6’1” and 185lbs and it works fine for me.

I’m using the double end bag in my sun room and again the ceiling is 8-10ft tall and the room it’s self of the size of a jail cell literally lol and you’ll see I have room. I had enough room to lose 92lbs so far but not really enough room to work footwork haha h
quick question. do you think you could wear boxing shoes for the short walk to the gym or will that ruin them?
It would ruin them and your feet will get sore since boxing shoes typically have thin soles.
