Got my first 6 stitch braids 2 weeks ago after 10 months of growing... I wanted 4 but my stylist told me I didn't have enough length for 4... I went with 6 still look good.

I had to stop using Mielle’s oil products because they were making it worse. you got any ingredient/product recommendations?
Same...the Rosemary oil helped my hair grow but the itching tho...I just use rosemary and peppermint oil for my scalp now, as well as The Dry and Itchy Shampoo from As I Am
@@velmad3894 yea the oil especially was so itchy that my stylist said my scalp was red & irritated when she undid my twists
MCT oil’s been pretty helpful so far. I heard ingredients like 2% Zinc Pyrithione is really good too. I’ll look into your recommendations thk, appreciate it
Studies show that shampooing the scalp more often helps seb dermatitis. I have 4c hair and shampoo every other day, and my scalp is great! 10/10 recommend

🚨Bro PLease answer, so i went to a new barber (afro master degree they said) and the guy picked my hair so hard I thought he had personal beef with me, my hair was dry as shit and messy cause I haven’t been taking care of it, and that guy used and afro pick and looked like he was trying to rip off my hair on the sides on the top and everywhere, how damaged is my hair?? And what to do now, cause trust me bro he picked it like crazy and my hair was already pretty tangled, be honest, what to do now??
Invest in a high quality wash day routine, and stop going to that barber or tell him to stop picking your hair so hard
Picking your hair in general can be super damaging especially when it’s dry. Make sure you have a good conditioner/leave and get a oil to hold it in or a cream so you don’t have to worry so much about moisture. Gently pick your hair out yourself if you really want that look or like the other guy said, tell him stop ripping out your hard work. Since it probably is damaged go to a hair stylist and have them wash and trim it. Don’t stress bro
Unrelated question: can blow drying your hair prevent curls afterwards like if I blow dry my hair will I still be able to do or get curls?
Yes you can as long as you don't have heat damage and use a heat protestant before you blow dry
you can still get curls provided that you didn’t damage your hair- just wet your hair
