      most places will only pierce with a horseshoe septum ring not a clicker and usually it will be silver but after 3 - 6 months most of the time it is healed enough to change

      This is because it is best for the healing process, and we Peirce with silver because it's surgical steel, which is best for the healing process, if we used gold, or black, unless it's titanium or actual gold, the paint on the jewelry has a chance to flake off and give you an infection.

      @@littlemunch4304 also the best part about septum piercings is that it’s so easy to hide, if you get pierced with a horseshoe. Nobody will ever know unless you forget to flip it up. But when it’s healing it must either stay down or flipped up throughout the whole healing process since constantly flipping it up and down will irritate the piercing and make healing rough.

    • @rhianythwarwick3416
      @rhianythwarwick3416 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Reputable piercers don’t use clickers in septums until they’re healed because the seam can rotate into your fresh piercing and irritate it. Most piercers will use another type of ring called a captive bead ring instead of the horseshoe if you ask though.
      Fresh piercing jewelry should be implant grade. Most common is implant grade titanium, which can be safely anodized in a rainbow of colours, but is silver by default!

      @@littlemunch4304 surgical steel definitely isn’t the best for healing or for your body in general…the term “surgical steel” doesn’t even actually mean anything. The material you’re looking for is titanium.

    When I got mine done around a year ago they used a clamp- they clamped it kinda high then stretched it to the bit of tissue that you need to pierce through (it’s called the sweet spot I think) and it hurt like hell but I’m so glad they didn’t go though cartilage lol. Also kinda hurt to heal, but everything went fine and I still have it. (Also they usually use a silver horseshoe jewelry)

      I'm sure you've heard this by now, but that's not typical. Maybe find someone else for your next piercing. Everyone I've gone to has had me take a deep breath, and then as I let it out they do the piercing. That includes for a septum piercing
