He always played it straight but also had great comic timing like Leslie Nielsen had done later, and by fortune I was lucky enough to have met both gentlemen in my lifetime RIP to both Adam West and to Leslie Nielsen.
Adam admitting how nervous he is on live television is just a joy. Thats the true characteristics of a guy who just wants to be himself in the public eye. Love you Adam. RIP
At a Con once, a friend of mine saw Adam West going into the building, but West didn't have his official badge on and so the security guard stopped West at the door. West then said: "I'm Adam West"-- but the guard didn't know who he was and wouldn't let him in. A few more exchanges and the guard still wouldn't let him in. West, miffed, then exclaimed at the guard: "Duuuuuude! I'm Batman!" ........my friend was rolling on the ground laughing in hysterics......
That’s HILLARIOUS! When I met him at Wizard World CHICAGO, I asked him how he liked playing Batman. He said, “Do you wanna know the truth?” I said, “yes, I do.” He replied,”Sick of it… But the car was fantastic! “ Now keep in mind, Adam, Burt, and Julie Newmar had just rented the Batmobile and the bat cycle from theVolo auto museum in Volo Illinois. And they were all ready to sign autographs…. But the dummy who managed them at Wizard world put them in a hard to find part of the convention with a red curtain covering their entire area. Why? I have no idea. But that’s what they did. And almost nobody could find them. Even the fans. I looked all over the convention center a few times before I found them. It was awful. I felt so sorry for all of them. Not only did they lose money, but almost no fans knew that they were there. But it was great to meet them all, and each one of them signed my Batmobile model. Adam West, you are my hero, and you will always be BATMAN to me. Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, BATMAN!
I know Adam West had some problems getting cast after Batman but he seems to have adjusted that he will be forever on TV and in our hearts. He was a favorite of mine when I was about 6 or 7 years old and I sometimes catch it on METV just for the memories. I had my son watch it with me when he was smaller but he outgrew it but he recognizes Adam's voice in some of the newer stuff on today. Seems like a great guy.
The only thing better than the idea of both Adam West and Lesley Ann-Warren appearing on Letterman is the way in which Dave introduced them. I'm going to watch the interview right now.
Ah, Adam. I have the Blu-Ray boxed set of Batman. Great, great show. And the dialing up Angela bit was fantastic. Dave seemed "on" that night. Great, stuff all around. I see the link to the record segment, so off I go.
Adam West's new show, "Lookwell" was a pilot that was never picked up. Wiki says this about it: "Lookwell was a television pilot written and produced by Conan O'Brien and Robert Smigel, the latter of whom would become a primary creative voice for O'Brien's late night show.[1] It starred Adam West. Despite being a "personal favorite" of NBC chairman Brandon Tartikoff (who had left that position by the time the pilot aired and was replaced by Warren Littlefield), the pilot was not picked up as a series. It was broadcast on NBC on July 28, 1991 in a summer weekend timeslot reserved for burning off pilots which the network had passed on. The pilot has since become a cult classic."
Half a billion people watching? Thats pretty amazing. But the show was mesmerizing, it makes sense to me. Wish Dave wasn't so aloof with Mr West. I guess the episode was wrapping up...
@@angelacandori4966 Could it really be? Well, if you're the Angela from this show, you are very attractive and have a real ease of charm on camera. Well done.
Adam West’s comic timing was fantastic and iconic voice, he brought much joy.
May Adam Rest In Peace.

My goodness... I'm very jealous.

I think he was joking about being nervous.
It wasnt proper David Lettetman telling Adam West, Sit down. Not good Letterman.
He was 61, here. He looked great.
❤adam west

Adam West is very missed by his fans. Rest In Peace Adam.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Its a shame there wasn't (aside from family guy) a comedy vehicle made for Adam West. He was such a talent.

Used to love watching Batman every week, (Wednesdays & Thursdays), when I was a kid. RIP Mr. West.
Now I want to see that Lookwell pilot. Adam West again proves he was an underrated genius at deadpan humor.

Lookwell is 100% comedy gold - unbelievable that it didn’t get picked up for a full series!
RIP Adam West :'(
...but his agent had to told him: It's a "live" show, it should be a fake beard! And he said no...
Adam, always a great guest, very classy.
Phone bit reminded me of the internet early days r.i.p Adam west
he makes me smile my wholelife !!!!
Never noticed before but his voice is pretty close to Jeff Goldbloom's. RIP Adam....
Holy stems! Leslie Anne Warren looked great!
Agreed. Boy she was beautiful

Bruce Wayne R.I.P.
lookwell best pilot ever rejected, what were the suits thinking?
Paul and the band did a neat arrangement of the theme too.
"Robin Hood and their Merry Men!!!" Mr. West, you were a match for David and his shenanigans!
And this is why we now have a thing called 'podcasts'.
Lookwell should have been made a regular series.
Lookwell was great. Shame it didn’t get picked up
What a good sport!
that lookwell show was fucking hilarious

The fact I wasn't alive to write some sort of comedy for Adam West and now he isn't alive kills me, how was he not in another comedy
It's too bad that "Lookwell" didn't take off after its first season. Like the campy, tongue-in-cheek Batman, that was the perfect role for Adam.
If there is only one batman is Adam West. RIP to the great batman hero Adam west. Peace.🕶
We love you Adam
Lookwell was written by Conan O‘Brien and Robert Smigel
He had many cowboy roles actually.
11:05 It's a shame that there's no video footage of Adam showing British kids how to cross the street.

@@AccurateCrabLegs Thank you. That's a great find! Fun to watch.
@@AccurateCrabLegs Very cool, ty. Holy fish and chips, Batman!
I feel like Adam West's voice is a combination of Harrison Ford and Jeff Goldblum
Angela deserves her own show
Thanks. I'm Angela
@@angelacandori4966 hey Angela
You’re not Angela!
I mean not THEEEE Angela!
I kinda miss all giant hair dews of the 70s-90s
RIP Adam West
The Late Show Letterman was the best.
This was Late Night.
Anyone ever notice that Adam West & Carl Sagan voice is similar.
Like Carl is doing a. Exaggerated imitation of Adam West 😀
What became of Angela?
This must have been before he became Mayor of Quahog.
was this a bit, or were they really "unorganized", hilarious either way
Thanks to seth MacFarlane for exposing adam west to a younger generation lol he was so awesome like a Christopher Walken type character
If Lookwell had succeeded, Conan O’Brien would never have taken over for Dave…and the droids would now be in the hands of The Empire.
Adam West was such a big man! Like Oliver Reed except he wasn't an abrasive, egomaniacal falldown drunk.
That show seemed pretty funny...I guess that humer didn't go over back then?
Angela.. How you doin'..??
The Mayor of Quahog
The movie looks funny
It's a 25 min pilot episode for a tv show that was sadly never picked. You can watch the whole thing on youtube. It's called Lookwell.
As identified in the video description.
Notice how men didn’t hug each other back then like little girls?

whatever happened to angela? :)
Hi
She went on to stardom as Selina Meyer on “Veep”

Adam West could easily have played Walter White.
Lookwell? Crap....that looked funny!
Yes Mr West, Bruce Lee (Kato) was MUCH Faster than robin & batman !! (And Stronger) 👍
th-cam.com/video/IzEmuhP1ZT4/w-d-xo.html the street crossing clip:)
Creeper
That is the worst dialing music I've ever heard
