Due to EVs and Hybrid, it's really crazy they Label the Gtr more analogue and mechanical. But during that Year, they say the GTR is boring and too much rely on computers compared to the good old manuals of Corvette and Viper
GT-R any day, I just love the way the car looks. The Audi is a brilliant car, But It seems to be more of a "look how much money I have" kinda car. Personal preference. Not hating on the Audi at all it's just not my cup of tea.
The GT-R is a car built for everyone, It's built to "Make every driver feel Super!" - Kazutoshi Mizuno, Ex-Chief Nissan Engineer. You don't have to be pro to drive the car, and just because you drive it doesn't mean you're not a pro. I'm tired of the GT-R getting so much hate b/c of it "Computers" when you're capable of turning it all off and having a go at it yourself. IMO the GT-R is a beautiful piece of art that should be remember for ages in the Automobile History Books....
I agree but the auti is a more known brand and if any one who s about cars a good sports car is not how big the engine is it depends on the turbo or the weight of the car and other things so I give props to you for realizing it is not just about the brand of the car it's the performance too
viperkiller55pk Oh yeah Auti makes good cars. I wonder why they are Portugese. Do you know? I don't. Auti is good for their 0.2L 1 cylinder, that puts down 12 hp! Can you believe that?!?! Those brakes are as big as a dime. But they can't compete with Audi though...
I agree but I think they should be admiring the engineering achievement's of the car 0-100kph in 2.7! that's insane. the special nerling on the rims of the gtr to stop the wheels coming off because of its cornering speeds, twin turbo v6 in the gtr has been rumoured to produce up to 610hp in some stock gtr's because they are hand built and hand tuned, value for money? id buy that gtr.
Dude I totally agree with you. They keep bashing the car because it's a perfect driving machine. To achieve one, you must give up another. .. Plus I've seen videos where the gtr be doing 360s and throwing its back (when real pros drive it). I honestly liked the r34 better when it comes to look, style and the way it drives and sound but I still respect the superior engineering the gtr have. I don't think the car is ugly. I think it's face is just featureless but the r8 is ugly and I love the A models in the audis
Any sports car with 4 seats is a lie, unless you have no legs. Im pretty sure you save on insurance though (cuz its not considered a pure sports car i think)
Seriously Bro? If a person can afford a car for over $100k, then he or she probably isn't in financial difficulty. I would spend more and get the better car (the R8).
In a sports car I wouldn't even bother with a 4 seater! Get a sedan if you want a 4 seater. Cause if you're over 5'7 you'll fit cramped. That's from my experience to be clear.
Alexander Cecile I own a R35 and i can fit my kids in the back no problem even slim adult can fit back you just have to move the front seat up a little. Those rear seats are definitely not designed to support fat american asses, however it works well for children and a lot roomier than a 911 rear seats.
Swoggify but you see swoggify. Your never actually going to need to do 0-60 or care about handling in everyday driving. The GTR is more for track day specials and being fast. It doesn't care about the driver. Where as the R8 V10 PLUS is still VERY fast but it cares about the driver. It has a nicer interior and a nicer ride. Plus it looks better and is more fun to drive.
Swoggify The R8 does go fast compared to many other supercars such as the porsche 911 or the lamborghini reventon. Whats the point of buying a GTR anyway?
jesus bannanahammock That's a matter of opinion. Nothing will beat Godzilla and I personally think the R8 looks like a cockroach with fungus growing out the front. The only thing I respect more than Godzilla is FD3S.
jesus bannanahammock The girlfriend can stay at home whilst I take the GTR to the track! Although it seems the R8 would be more fun in the sideways department.
***** True, true, but I like Godzilla more than any other car. Besides, what advantages other cars have, quality aftermarket will surely make sort work of the gap ... (^_^) Love makes you blind doesn't it?
+amr ahmed I just think the GTR is a bit... ugly. If I bought one of these cars I would choose the better looking more luxurious car because it's not like I'm going to be racing these cars, I wouldn't really care about an extra couple seconds on a track.
Not So Cool Dude for the same price of audi if you aim for luxurious car you have Mercedes-Maybach S600 or AMG S63 Coupe but if you want performance better than both audi and nissan and luxury you have porsche 911 turbo or turbo s
I have spent time in both of these cars, and Randy Pobst nailed it. The Nissan is fast, but really boring. The Audi looks great, and is so much more interesting to drive. BTW, if you put the right exhaust on that V-10 engine, that R8 sings like Pavarotti.
Yes the GTR is the best!!! When it came out, it revolutionized the way we look at sports cars. It may not sound as good as the R8 but it's better in every other way besides, those complaints that he had about it are totally subjective. There's no way around the fact that Nissan has been dominating with this car since 1989 (Skyline GTR) especially when you compare the price of the thing to other sports cars. I would rather see it against the 2014 Porsche 911turboS. They are two twin turbo 6 cylinder cars. The Porsche may beat it but I'm sure by only a tiny margin, so like I said the GTR is still the best bang for your buck. This is a car that you hate to love but you still have to love it.
+manrightchea While I agree with you, anywhere you go where you are thinking the Audi will give you some clout, the valets and such know what the GT-R is and have as much if not more respect for it. 1 implies you want status and presence where you go, the other is all about performance, and as such you get to be the envy of a lot of testosterone fueled kids. The fanbase is annoying with many vehicles, Jeeps vs Land Rovers; I could name many. As someone who has many lap days to humble how good, or lousy, I am, Randy's comments in this video of the GT-R say it all!
Anthony Puca I agree. However that assumption also rests with the idea that a person would want the R8 for what others think. I personally would want the R8 because it is refined, comfortable and still a fun car, not to impress others. That is the problem with the GTR, it is so computerized that it is the perfect poser-mobile for guys that want to show off but have little to no real interest in car culture or performance driving.
"The GT-R isn't fun to drive"?! I don't know about you but beating a car that is lighter, more powerful, with 4 more cylinders, and that costs 50k more is a lot of fun to me! Also, I don't want a car that tries to kill me when I push it to the limits... that job belongs to my Yamaha R1
+PrimiusLovin The GTR has more torque then the R8, and the r8 is a v10, not a v12, so the r8 has 2 more cylinder then the GTR. I want to see the new 2017 R8 vs the new GTR. both uped their performances.
Having driven both, on a road, the gtr always feels board. Not borING per-say, but like it's grumpy your not on a racetrack. The r8 v10 was just a joy anywhere.
While I do prefer the R8 I would have a better understanding of your arguments if they were consistent. 1. Normally you praise a cars handling if you can approach it's limit safely even when you turn off electronics. None is safer than GTR in that situation. 2. Every time you compare Corvette with a Porsche or Ferrari you praise it for what it offers in terms of performance despite the price difference. Here it doesn't matter despite the huge difference. 3. Randy shows how stable GTR is in every situation on track and you find it not engaging? How engaging do you want a 500+ hp car be on a tricky track? Like the R8 sliding all over the place? Oversteer+ might be "engaging" for a pro driver but not for the average driver on track days. Everybody dose everything possible with their cars so they will behave like that GTR on track. 4. Finally, if luxury was to play such a big part why even a H2H? Why run a Corvette against a Porsche or Ferrari F12? The Vette would lose in the first yard. At least you are the first one to mention that GTR is not AWD all the time like Porsche turbo, only when you are in trouble and the rears start to slide (@7:22 in your last video) dose power go to the front tires.
While the amount of cylinders and displacement makes a difference, so does the amount of torque and the speed of the transmission, which is why the GTR is faster.
In the end, GTR is just a 2 door Nissan that ya'll are being finger banged 24/7 while the R8 is a German-Italian masterpiece that earns respect in Beverly Hills. Think about it huh. Not hating on the GTR, I like it, I just don't like people like you who think the GTR is better than anything and disrespect other cars. So yeah, disrespect only deserves disrespect.
With horsepower growing above 500 -1000 hp in modern cars, the next step is tire technology. In almost every Head 2 Head situation it comes down to tires. Just out of curiosity, what would happen on a quarter mile track, if you poured Liquid Rubber on the entire track, let it adhere to the asphalt, and harden to a soft tire consistency. Would be a little expensive, but everyone would want to test, race, and pay well for the opportunity.
+MrMarkpark That's to be expected from a high revving N/A v10. But if you break it down it's actually not unimpressive. At 600lb/ft the current Vipers V10 has the most torque of any naturally aspirated production engine ever but it requires 8.4 liters to do so, giving it a torque per liter rating of 71lb/ft per liter. The R8s FSI 5.0 V10 makes around 376lb/ft giving it a ratio of 75lb/ft per liter. So the Audi is actually able to make more specific peak torque than the torquiest production engine yet.
Speaking from experience, I don't know a single professional racing driver who likes the GTR. They all respect it, but they all hate it. I'm starting to understand why. There's nothing special about it. The R8 is special. Maybe it's the V10. Maybe it's the well balanced Quattro system. Maybe it is the fact that it points out who the good drivers are and who the bad ones are. As someone who dislikes Audi's, I'll take the R8 all day long.
Where on this video do you see professional racing vehicles? These are production vehicles and are judged by various different aspects. You would take the R8, good for you, so would i probably. But not because professional drivers say so. I would test drive both cars and decide judging by my own experience. Not because someone else said so. Your point is so irrelevant to the video.
I love the GTR but it lacks the most important factor and that is driver involvement. For the most part the GTR is very good at almost everything because of its AWD and electronic system correcting the car on the fly. The R8 however is all based on the drivers abilities to control the car itself. The GTR is an easy car to drive while the R8 is a car you need to practice to use. The R8 beats the GTR in car in terms of driving as it is a drivers car. It provide tons of fun as the car is something you need to actually tame and it provide excitement for every turn and straight. The GTR is a great benchmark car that can put up excellent times in testing. However it is very clear how much is taken away from the driver in the GTR. Given the chance I would still choose the GTR for my daily cruise and track car but my main track car would be an R8 in the sense of this video. The R8 is just much more fun.
I owned both, 2011 5.2 R8 and then I kept getting spanked by every R35 GTR that i ran against. So I decided to trade in the R8 and get myself a 2015 GTR. Best decision ever made. When it comes to track performance the GTR is a complete beast compared to the R8. Having owned both cars I can honestly say the R8 serves its purpose when it comes to attracting attention, luxury, and comfort. But when it comes to track performance, it comes short compared to the GTR. The GTR on the other hand is a rough ride, not so much on the luxurious side of things, but it more than makes up for it in track performance. Before trading in my R8 for a GTR I was seriously considering going twin turbo so I can destroy those GTR's, but the turbo systems for R8 are not considerably cheap, the entry level turbo system from Heffner Performance starts at $35,000+ with labor and that can get you at 800WHP. There's also the AMS alpha 10 R8 package which cost $45,000+ and gets you 900WHP. The GTR on the other is a bit more friendly to the pocket when it comes to upgrading, the AMS Alpha 9 GTR package is $23,000 with labor and it gets you to 900WHP. The AMS Alpha packages for the GTR's also can be built on one after another. Lets say you start with the Alpha 6 package, later on you can buy just 1 extra part and it upgrades you to their next level and so on until you get to their ultimate package which is the Ronin. You don't have to be a genius to realize that the GTR is the more practical supercar than the R8....hahahaha practical supercar (does that even exist). Yes both cars are friendly when it comes to daily driving, they're a lot more suitable for daily driving compared to other supercars or exotics, that's probably the only thing I can agree on both the cars, they can be daily driven. The R8 is a good car, the GTR even better. The R8 is a good car when you want to attract attention and drop panties. Like I always say the R8 attracts chics, the GTR attracts dicks. When I'm driving the GTR I get more props and thumbs up from true car guys, not from some gold digger hoes that know nothing about cars. GTR > R8 anyday.
GT-R: Drives faster, accelerates faster, and corners faster. R8: Looks better, sounds better, feels better, and is more communicative. Yeah, I think I'll have the Audi R8.
THE MLG I did say the GT-R (I presume, that's the "japanese V6" you're talking about is) accelerates faster. The VR36DETT however isn't as nice sounding as either the 5.2 FSI V10 in the R8 or even the 2.5 TFSI Straight-5 in the RS3 and TT-RS.
THE MLG It sounds like a muffled Nissan Sunny. Or at least, that's what it sounds like through stock exhaust pipes. How it sounds through other exhausts I can only speculate on.
***** you don't know me son what if im John F kennedy its just that the CIA faked my assasination because they knew we were close to global nuclear war and the recent events in cuba angered the Soviets because they looked weak for backing down and withdrawing nukes so they faked my death afraid if I was elected it would lead to more tension and allowed Nixon a bigger chance of winning the next election because they knew he would help to convince the Chinese to join our sides and become capitaists therefore reducing the price of global industries so that more people could afford every day items as well as cheaper for big compaines to purchase prodcuts
I'm a GTR fan, but I'm also a car enthusiast; I'd appreciate a great car no matter where it's from. I'd say these two are great cars, and the Americans are showing massive improvement with theirs; while the others are keeping up their high standards. The supercar killer, the GT-R, is finally losing to other cars, after so many years of being the "underdog" or the "supercar killer." That's good, because it means the motoring industry is making progress. Will we see an R36 soon? :)
Why is everyone fighting over these cars? Just enjoy the video. You should realize everyone has different needs/preference. If people could understand that, that would be great.
The people hating on the GTR are mostly the older generation who still have prejudice against japanese cars. For some crazy reason people in america for the longest time just HATED japanese cars. Maybe pearl harbor has something to do with it...?
For those bickering about the GT-R, please watch the GT-R documentary. It will explain the GT-R from the developer's perspective. Just in case you don't want to watch it, the GT-R was was designed for the "average" person in mind. Now, I use that word loosely of course. $70+ is not something an "average" person like myself can afford, but it certainly does open up the market to a larger range of consumers. Also, the high level of driveability allows for someone like myself who has no racing experience to step into the car and drive like someone with experience. The GT-R was not intended for the elite, but for the people. The boxy design of the GT-R was also intentional. You really think that if they could send a boxy car down the road with only (sarcasm) 545 hp to 60mph in 2.8 seconds, they couldn't design a much more streamline car? They wanted something that was original and different from the typical design of supercars. Not to mention, the GT-R's design was partially inspired by Gundams. FTW.
The R8 won because most people would rather have a comfortable, good looking ,and good sounding car like the R8 instead of a noisy uncomfortable hard to drive car like the GTR. If you want something relaxed than get the R8, if you want a track car to impress other track day people than you should go for the GTR.
Actually the way your comment was, it's called an opinion because on the road I like more of a noisy cars and go fast ppl will hear me zooming by them and feeling the bumps in the road(I really don't know why I like hitting bumps but whatever) and I also have a less chance of sleeping while driving, which will probably end up killing someone.
I will take the GTR and save $50K for another more comfortable road car. It clearly outclasses the R8 in every performance category. You dont buy a performance car for luxury. You buy it to perform.
Robert Ri When I buy a performance car, I buy it for performance. I did not realize that people who race professionally care more about looks than performance. Also, keep the insults to yourself or be blocked.
+Dr Feel Good You can't perform to the limit on the freeway or the interstates. Audi R8 has the performance plus the luxury / comfort, plus it's the Ironman's car :)
Buck Rogers The GTR can reach its limits quicker than the Audi. It corners just as good and goes 0-60 better. Has many of the same bells as the Audi and it even has some the Audi does not have. What "significant" luxury do you get in the Audi...besides the name? Lol
Love both cars but would take the GTR. 1. 4 seats 2. A lotttttt cheaper. 3. Japanese so a lot cheaper to maintain and more reliable. 4. Would kill any supercar and would eat muscle car in 0-60.
DiabloSVR98 Japanese cars will always be easier to maintain. European cars are always the most expensive to maintain because of their configuration. Talk to literally any car mechanic.
God I love those people who say "this car feels better than that car" when they've driven neither of the cars or even have seen them being pushed to the limits. Makes me laugh tbh.
Joseph C. R8 is not for the man is for the fucked up ones haha, the Nissan GT-R is like a F1 racing machine, the fucked up ones like you prefer cars like R8, not the technological thing, if you were a bit more clever you would not consider what they say in these pesky videos.
V10 only 398 lb/ft???????? Is that a joke???? I like Audi but when a V6 kicks ur ass there's something wrong. German cars are good cars but the GT-R clearly kicks it's fucking ass no matter what people say. I love the GT-R I would get this in a heartbeat.
I have a feeling that after what the RS7 did with the 4.0 (even crazier when tuned) we wont be seeing the V10 for much longer. The RS6 has already dropped it.
I would prefer the Audi, which looks much, much better and sounds better. Also the Audi got a higher quality and a soul. That's the problem of the Nissan. Of cause it's fast and nearly perfect, but also to heavy and coltish. The difference to a R8, a Lambo, Ferrari, McLaren or Porsche is, that these cars aren't artifical like Nissan!
If someone were to offer me either set of keys to pick one to have for free....it's a tough call, man, I love em both! They are my number one and number two fav cars of all time..
Both are great cars. but the GTR was much better to own and much faster than the R8. I just wish the GTR wasn't so insulated so you could hear the sound better.
goognam goognws Well turbo changes the exhaust/engine sound, but when you pair it with a blow off valve its the most sexy sound on the earth! Check out videos with turbo civic type-r's or si's.
Stfu saying its just a nissan and you wouldnt pay 100k for just a nissan. This is mothaphucking Godzilla and its way faster than anything you haters will ever have
To be honest, the GT-R just looks like a standard car, like any Subaru or other Asian car on the market. The R8 looks like a supercar. The GT-R have better performance and Nissan have done a great work on that part, but the R8 have enough power and since it looks 10x better, the choice is easy.
Yuu Tuuber I'm all about the head 2 head, not what to do with that money. I would definitely do something different with such a budget, but if I had to choose between these two, I'd definitely get the Audi
R8 + is quicker on most tracks than this yr/model GT-R. Anyway if someone was worring about $$ there are better track cars for less than either of these, but for a daily driver...I too would get the R8.
exactly! the gtr is like somewhere between riding shotgun and driving the audi. its fun, make no mistake, but the audi, or a hellcat, or something else incredible like that is just plain impossible to drive without smiling
+Owen Clifford (thetruebanana) note that the Nissan they used is almost half the price of the Audi R8. the GTR Nismo is 150k and even better than this version (upping to 600 hp) while still being cheaper than the R8
+lithium2000 yes I agree I love the nismo to death and I feel that when it comes to speed the Nissan will almost always be the king. But if you are going to choose one to buy the r8 would be better
yeah gtr and its assisted computerized suspension adjust to a track and memorizes it to make driving easy :/ basically means takes no skill to drive and is not so interactive and own one and see its really not so great when parts start failing prematurely especially if u track and do one or two launches it so it sucks especially the transmission that fails even at 15k mileage many stuff not under warranty
kcuf foo just saying that the nissan gtr sucks ass and nissan knows that cause they wont cover the launch control in the warranty when they provide it on the car...my friend right now is changing his gearbox his gtr is only 3months old now :/
Abid Chou lol what this is a gearbox failure. u can do launches in a porsche 911 turbo consecutively and have absolutely no problems!!! and they actually covere their launch control because they know it will hold up!! bro used launch control and tracked it a few times
gtr is a car not to be beaten by anyone bye all side if u win in race cant win in price or reliablity bcz its asian and asian build cars better reliable and cheaper GTR IS THE KING
Why are they comparing a car with street tyres (the Audi) and a car with race tyres (Nissan) on a race track!? No doubt the Nissan is faster than than the Audi on the straight. The R35 is the second fastest street legal car. But on a track if they had the same tyres I'm pretty sure the Audi would be faster. I'm surprised they didn't mention the massive under steer the R35 has. And also riding in the gtr looks quite annoying
Have you ever been in a GT-R? Its has barely any under steer. Its fast even with summer tires ( not track tires ) which is the Black Edition GT-R. Once you've driven one, judge it. But I'm pretty sure a 13 yr. old boy (you) has never even seen one. So please shut up with your stupidity. Thank You.
Selvin Calix Man, calm down.. Do you even drive R8 when you talk so much ? You don't know how much funny is it... The GT-R is like train... NO FUN, bro...
So, R35 has better performance, better tires, safer, more comfortable to seat in 70K bucks cheaper. And the Audi is a better car because it can't handle it's own shit in a corner and has leather seats which can't hold you in. The logic you people have is astonishing. -.-
Ѕвонко Петровски The R35 is definitely not more comfortable to ride in. Did you see the guy riding the car in the video? He didnt stop bumping the whole time.
So to save people time, the conclusion of the test driver is; the Nissan is much better car at acceleration, cornering, torque and every other thing that matters, still he prefers the Audi because it is pretty and handles like crap. This guy would eat a pizza made of shit if it came in a pretty looking box.
so to all the people saying that gtr is not thier pick because it is not "Involving" enough or handles too good is boring. i guess when they make race cars they should make them not handle good and stick to the road like the GTR but make a racecar that oversteers or understeers too much so it would be more fun? I don't get why people say they don't like the gtr because it's too easy to drive. Thats the whole point of a good car. No one would upgrade chassis and supsensions to make it oversteer more so it would be more involving, thats just stupid. I guess there are going to be way more rich people buying supercars and crasing them because they can't handle the oversteer from a burnout, LOL!!! unless everyone on youtube are pro drivers and will be able to handle a 500+hp car going 80mph around a corner then ill be wrong.
No, we hate it because it is a ROAD car, nit a race car. Why not have fun driving it? If it is supposed to be fast and practical, then why just make it mostly for lap times. We hate it because it doesn't put a smile on your face everytime you drive it.
AdrenalineInducedHigh exactly why it doesnt put a smile on your face when you drive it is because you never drove one or because it can out run the cars that are on a poster in your room boy. You are talking about lmost every other road car made to be fast. They all are better suited for the track even though they are road cars so your point is invalid.
GTR crushes the more expensive Oww-dee in every performance category. I guess ground-braking engineering and superior performance is trumped by nice stitching in the seats and the mid-engine cache. Better ride in the Ouch-dee but bruising your knee because the seats suck?! Do you guys hear yourself?! Hey, the Arrrrr-ate is a nice grocery-getter for posers. But if you want a car you can live with daily and be the fastest guy around on track-days, I'll keep my stock GTR. I wonder which car Randy Probst would pick to drive at Willow? And talk about a car you can live with... I can actually pick up my dry-cleaning in my GTR and hang it in the back! Take that mid-engine cars!
Remember though... You're driving a Nissan... Let that set in for a sec... Now let's say you go with the Audi, yes you're driving a German man car vs a Japanese car. Think about that... Asian girls will be coming for you man, don't want that do you. Personally I'd rather have beautiful blonde haired blue eyed babes crawling after my Audi, plus two seats is an advantage. Only you and your girl, you don't have to bring your four buddy's and oops one of them spills McDonald's all over your Nissan... Specs are specs. It's all about the driver, no one is the same, great driver in Audi>good driver in Nissan...
+Robert DiGiovanni ...you seem to be mentally challenged or simply have a room temperature IQ. You're comparing a n/a car with a forced induction car: remove the GT-R's turbos or add two to R8 and see what happens. GT-R is for boys, and on track Audi showed with R8 GT that it still doesn't need forced induction to outperform a GT-R... Learn your shit...
I don't like the back, doesn't have style. Well, this is the difference between a sports car and a luxury sports car. This is also the reason why rich people would never buy a gtr instead of a (ex: lambo) because of the performance (like the children in the comments section say they would do).
skuirpy scuirpy the fuck are you talking about? R8 is one of the most amazing looking cars. Gtr looks like a fast car on a design budget. Audi has Class written all over it
You will be still be beat by the r8 in a 911 Turbo… I just watched a video by Car and Driver. You have the straights (which honestly is most common in RL) but the r8 has the track.
+Michael Dob who wants luxury over race car. if you want to talk about how well comfort and good suspension than let's go over to rolls royce and talk about it. who the fuck in this world wants that fucking comfort in race car,. -The GTR is in meaning of Grand Touring Racing car. -The GTR is also Famous GTR nismo Le mans race car. -The GTR is cheaper, but Faster. -The GTR is also AWD. -The GTR is not a supercar, it''s The Supercar. -you are wrong sir, the BEST ever AWD car is Bugatti Veyron SS 16.4 -GTR can shit over lamborghini in terms of SPEED which mostly concerned in sports car or even in super car, who wants the super car that cant eve go fast xD funny right? -Audi have been here longer but R8 havent been here longer which is out of history, you cant make the history. So you are aventually WRONG. nissan have not been longer than audi but GTR have been here longer than R8. AND we arnt comparing AUDI VS NISSAN. this is comparison in between of R8 vs GTR. -luxury? let's go talk with MR.rolls royce -guess what R8 fuckers: from 2010 to 2014 most car have been sold at a month is 278/ BUT from 2010 to 2014 most car for R8 have been sold is 173. which shows how more people buys GTR rather than that crappy R8. this is why GTR is much better than R8 sir. :)
Motortrend should be ashamed of themselves. They're a bunch of BS'ters. They're biased against Japanese cars. When a Japanese car has less hp, hp becomes the focus. But when the Japanese car has more power, drive feel and other subjective things become the determining factor, hahahaha. BTW, Audis are the most overrated cars. It has a numb steering, yet they say that it feels solid. They say that it has great build quality, yet there are a lot of hard plastics in the interior. I traded my A4 to a Q50. Only kept it for a year. The Q50 is way better. But of course reviews from these white folks will tell you that the Q50 is boring when it is not. The Audi is the boring car to drive. So boring that I couldn't keep it anymore.
Well how can the Q50 Steer-by-wire system be fun? So i guess the ~350HP makes it fun... where the A4 only has only 220. In Europe the Q50 uses a Mercedes engine. I guess thats cause they don't have an engine with that low emissions. Sorry to tell you but: Europe>Asia>Usa in term of Cars...
Ka Ba I honestly wish that I could answer your question about the Q50's steer by wire tech, but I cannot for I have not experienced it. That is an optional feature that I did not get. I got the premium trim with hydraulic steering. And it offers a great steering resistance very similar to that of the 3 series. I say that the Q50 is fun to drive because it feels planted on the road. It hugs the road on sharp turns, and feels confident in doing so. It also has a compliant and quiet ride. The awesome Bose sound system also adds to the fun of driving it. And yes, IT IS FAST :-) That gap between Japanese and European car driving dynamic qualities are closing in. Matter of fact, some European cars are getting cues from Japanese cars, and it used to be usually the other way around. You should know that a lot of these Japanese car makers have hired, or pirated, engineers from European car makers. Also, Japanese and Korean car makers have been offering better technology for years now. Especially in the navigation system/infotainment tech.
It's funny... If your listen to the professional race car driver you get the sense the GTR is better. If you listen to the auto journalist the R8 is better. Me, I could care less about what either says, I'll take a Porsche GT3 :)
To GT-R kids: Here are a few reasons as to why the R8 is better and why the majority would choose the R8 over the Datsun. -The Audi R8 is inspired by the Famous Audi R8 Le mans race car. -The Audi R8 is a supercar, The GT-R is an average sportscar with a powerful engine. -The Audi R8 is German engineered and people like to say that Germany is "God's factory". -Better suspension and all-wheel drive; the Quattro system is the first ever AWD drivetrain ever designed and the BEST ever AWD that can be. -Even though the Dodge will beat the R8, it's still worth getting over the GT-R because the Challenger would shit all over the GT-R -If you say that the GT-R has been here for longer than the R8, it doesn't count because we're comparing the modern crappy GT-R to the R8. Germany and Audi however, have been here for much longer.
I could almost understand your reasoning, if the audi wasn't $65k more. Even if money wasn't a concern for me, I couldn't stand spending that much more for less performance. The GT-R is just a average sportscar with a powerful engine? what makes the R8 special...the engine is in the middle? The R8 has a better AWD? Yeh, they had the first and in that day they ruled over all. Single handedly changed rally racing. There was a time when a Volvo coupe was a rally car of choice, now most think a rally car has to be AWD and we have audi to thank for that. But the shootout went to show that the GTRs AWD is better. For a slightly heavier car with less HP to run 0-60 faster and corner faster means it applies it's available power better. The only legit reason I can see someone wanting the R8 over the GTR would be looks. And that would be someone else, cause I like the looks of the GTR better as well. They even said that the R8 rides better....that's because it is not a super car, it is more like a touring car with a V10. The audi shouldn't cost any more than the GTR, but some companies make their badges out of unobtanium. (which is very expensive)
RCPro Driver The Audi R8 costs more than the GT-R becuase it's German/European engineered and manufactured. There's always a reason as to why a car costs so much more than another car. If the price was too much for the car, it would then be illegal marketing and people will be suing Audi constantly. The price of the R8 is determined by the how the engine is built and how it's fitted, the interior and exterior design (like headlights and steering wheel), carbon-fibre panels on each side of the car, laser beam headlights, and the technology fitted into the car. It features the Audi Quattro drivetrain based on the FIA WEC LMP1 Audi R18 e-tron quattro (basically the king of Le Man) - which explains why nobody ever beat Audi's famous AWD drivetrain; if you claim the GT-R's AWD is better, then let it be- but Audi is the king of AWD. It's fuel efficient which means it burns less fuel than any other car in its class. So why choose a car that's much slower and more expensive than the GT-R? Well, let's remind ourselves that speed isn't the way to win a race around the track...what is however the key to winning a track race is PERFORMANCE. It's said that slower cars might handle better around the track than faster cars, for example: it may be better at going around corners! This is all based on the the Audi R18 because that car is the slowest out of all LMP1 cars and still wins the Le Mans. Breaking distances may be not be an advantage to the R8 and I must agree that the GT-R is better at break, BUT its ability to turn round corners at a speed compared to the R8's might be 1%-5% lower. This costed Audi millions to plan, design and build So why shouldn't they put it at a higher price than the GT-R Sooo.....The GT-R is for speed while the R8 is built for performance. Even though the R8 handles much better on the track, it's more built for the road. Featuring Audi's suspension, it runs perfectly. The GT-R too is both a track and street racer. But in reality, the GT-R is a toy for some one who gets bored and the R8 is for the businessman/businesswoman. What's good about the price for an R8 that's 3 to 5 years old? It goes down by 50% to 70%. You can now buy a used R8 with a mileage of 30,000 miles for only $68,000! That's £45,000! Then you go to an Audi dealership for maintenance and get it back into normal shape for about $3,000. The reason why anyone would get the R8 is because of popularity, engineering, history, technology and joy- not just the design.
nissan sucks gtr is more attractive to more people than many European super expansive cars because its reputation.... more crowd for gtr.. look on TH-cam from R32, 33, 34 and R 35 gtr.
The Audi R8 is my absolute favourite car, and has been since I was 11. I also really Luke the GTR, which is definitely in my top 5 favourite cars. It's so annoying when people say, "I like this car, so the other one sucks". Both cars are fantastic displays of engineering, design, and beauty.
Although I truly love the R8 and am a German car guy, the GT-R gives an everyday practicality that I feel the R8 would not. Also the GT-R gives you more for less money and even the Nismo version costs less than the R8. Probably a similar price point as the Honda NSX but i would still take the GT-R.
I got to say, as an Audi fan, it is impressive that the GTR can accelerate that quick with the engine in the front compared to the R8 that has "theoretically" a faster launch speed since the engine weighs on the back of the car (Massive acceleration bonus for the r8)
So the GT-R costs like half what the Audi does and wins every event yet the the R8 wins the comparison...... That is like wining every round of a boxing match and scoring a knockout in the 10th only to have the judges hand your opponent the title. I have driven a lot of fast cars, (AMGs, Vettes, V Series, M5, Audis, Porsches, and a few tuner/custom rigs) and to me the GT-R was the most impressive hands down, no it was not as powerful or elegant as that AMG V12 twin turbo but I like simple and functional and the GT-R delivers that in a shockingly fast package. No car I have ever driven felt as composed coming into a corner hot or punching the throttle exiting, uphill downhill wet or dry it did not matter the GT-R never lost composure, in contrast the R8 is very heavy in the ass end and while I have never driven one in the rain I would imagine they could get VERY tricky around corners when things get wet, much like an old 911 once those heavy rear ends get to swinging they are hard to stop. That said on a wide open track there is something really fun about walking the rear end of a car around a tight corner and you cannot do that in a GT-R.
+Enigma Cipher Motor Trend tends to pick the car they would rather have. There are more track/stat based channels on youtube like EVO who would more likely pick GTR. I think they all fit their own purpose. R8 is where my money would go. So it wins in my book too.
Evan Gonzalez Again not dissing the R8, fun car no doubt about it, and it LOOKS more like a supercar then the GT-R, but performance for the money the GT-R blows it out of the water without question. There are exactly two legitimate criticisms of the GT-R, the 1st is that it is too heavy, yep totally agree with that although the fact that it can achieve that kind of performance at 3,800lbs only makes it that much more impressive, and the 2nd is that all that high tech fly by wire goodness reduces the drivers role in the process, also true but we don't have enough hands and feet to control torque distribution, break distribution, and suspension settings 1000 times a second no matter how good a driver you are, so I just consider that an evolutionary step in vehicle performance.
Watch Nissan do a comeback with the R36 or whatever they decide to name their next gen GT-R then it’ll be another game of everyone figuring out how they do it. Honestly though both are amazing cars just depends on your personal taste mine is the GT-R I grew up knowing that car ever since. And next time put on the same tires or at the very least similar tires that’ll actually show the difference between the two at the track.
True, Motor trend likes to go by the Fun to drive factor and not strictly on the Performance #'s. If you didn't have to pay for I think most would take the R8 because it costs so much more, looks and sounds better. Also every one has more fun in the opponents car (Fun factor). Sure a ferrari might be slower but most people would rather drive the ferrari. Hell, if you don't really like it you could always trade it in, get the GT-R and pocket $70k. As for the GT-R...sure it's acceleration from a stand still is amazing...once moving (say from a 40mph roll)most other supercars are out accelerating it. This fact is easily seen by how the R8 was 1/2 sec. behind @ 60mph BUT by the end of the 1/4mile the R8 cut the time to only 3/10 of a second and is going faster 125.8 vs. 125.1mph. The same thing happens vs. the viper, hellcat, GT500, etc. their 60-120mph (highway racing) acceleration is far superior. Sure the GT-R is the ugly duckling, but I can appreciate the low drag it gives the car. The fact that they didn't improve the sound or use more light weight materials over it's 9yr production is ridiculous. Sure it went up 65hp with this model since it's release...but it also went up $47,000 since it's release....and I don't see $47k worth of improvements.
if that's your point then they shoudn't be testing the cars then, it's pointless. just should just look at the tag price and its looks, and say "this car wins".
Are those the door locks I see on top of the doors in the Nissan?! I haven't seen that in years lol. Interior is most likely comparable to a 2007 Toyota Camry
I feel a sense of contradictions among the comments. ..first GTR against AMG gtr ,people praised the AMG. ... GTR againsst porche 911, people praised the 911 now the r8 people at GTR. If you look at it properly all the other German cars are more expensive than the R8 and do not handle better than the AUDi
So they spend a good 3/4 of the video explaining how the GT-R performs slightly better and feels better than the R8, then say the R8 wins for literally no freaking reason? Yeah ok...
Man coming back to this 11 years later is crazy
Also crazy that the GTR is now considered one of the most analogue, mechanical cars we have left
I agree. I would like to see an R8 performance edition that looks similar to the R8LMS though. That car is aesthetically wonderful.
Wait are you the of chiefs qb or just another alex smith
Jose Espinoza Hrmm?
Jose Espinoza Yeah what?
A gtr r35 would make super cars wet there pants.
Rudra
I agree but the auti is a more known brand and if any one who s about cars a good sports car is not how big the engine is it depends on the turbo or the weight of the car and other things so I give props to you for realizing it is not just about the brand of the car it's the performance too
viperkiller55pk
Oh yeah Auti makes good cars.
I'm not a GT-R fan but id take the nissan over the R8 cause of two reasons:
- it has 4 seats
- it's half the price of the R8
So...
Seriously Bro? I agree.
Alexander Cecile I own a R35 and i can fit my kids in the back no problem even slim adult can fit back you just have to move the front seat up a little. Those rear seats are definitely not designed to support fat american asses, however it works well for children and a lot roomier than a 911 rear seats.
Both cars are perfect, it depends on how much your planning to spend.
And yet most people don't realize that. They are two different cars, for two different types of people.
MrGovenator1 YES, thank you, all the arguing in the comments is absurd.
Antoine Marty Agreed, down here!
GTR beats R8 in almost every category. Beats all of the R8's times.. Yet still loses
0-60, better handling etc
Swoggify but you see swoggify. Your never actually going to need to do 0-60 or care about handling in everyday driving. The GTR is more for track day specials and being fast. It doesn't care about the driver. Where as the R8 V10 PLUS is still VERY fast but it cares about the driver. It has a nicer interior and a nicer ride. Plus it looks better and is more fun to drive.
They said in the video that the R8 doesnt like to go fast tho.. so whats the point of buying one of those supercars
Swoggify The R8 does go fast compared to many other supercars such as the porsche 911 or the lamborghini reventon. Whats the point of buying a GTR anyway?
I would take a GTR over just about any car other than the Porsche 918
Audi is about taking your girlfriend to Monte Carlo
---
GTR is about taking Monte Carlo and then having Spar, Nardo and Nurburgring for dessert
you realise in the GTR, there is no 'girlfreind' it looks ugly as hell look at the new r8 competition man. the sound and how it looks is pure sex.
jesus bannanahammock That's a matter of opinion.
I Ren Nothing will beat it at what? There are plenty of cars out there that are faster.?
***** True, true, but I like Godzilla more than any other car. Besides, what advantages other cars have, quality aftermarket will surely make sort work of the gap ... (^_^) Love makes you blind doesn't it?
Personally I would choose a R8
Airman2B yup, personally I think the GTR is the dumbest car ever and how could you not choose a v10 German machine
How can you not choose the r8
money and performance wise nissan gtr
luxury wise but twice the price audi r8
me i go for the performance
Motor trend does have a GTR vs 911 Turbo S video I saw it in the related videos haven't watched it yet though.
I'll take the Audi, just because it doesn't look like the Fat Lady gtr.
r8 for the name
nissan for the real engineering and speed and control
People are always following GT-R as soon as they see it.
Some people worship GT-R as GOD on earth.
+Virak Thong me
+InfiniteEclipseFX GTR can be too boy racer though with an annoying fanbase, R8 is more refined and imo the one I would want to live with everyday.
Thanks for the video! I think it is the most impartial evaluation of both the Nissan and the Audi I have seen on youtube until now.
+Unknown Person The GT-R has a V-6. V-10 - V-6 = a difference of 4 cylinders...
+PrimiusLovin ehmmm Tourque??? ehmm Turbos????
Unknown Person are you kidding?
/watch?v=TJmGkWRYWrk&list=FLbqhtOcdEGN-jKKTppeYvtw&index=3 This video sums up the R35
Brandyn Clark Pretty sure you're 12, have never driven, and do not understand a joke.
i disagree, if we are talking grip and cornering near the cars limit, nothing does it better than the 04-06 subaru sti`s
you can't spell 'does' .
Jeremy Clarkson Evolution is better in every way in terms of performance..
GTR=3.8L,V6,545HP.
R8=5.2L,V10,550HP
think about it huh.
While the amount of cylinders and displacement makes a difference, so does the amount of torque and the speed of the transmission, which is why the GTR is faster.
don't forget about those TURBOS!!!
So yeah, disrespect only deserves disrespect.
well a drag 1969 Mustang 5.0L V6 Got 4000hp+
Alexander Forsanker
Obviously we're talking about stock cars.
For a pretty good sized motor, the V-10 torque specs are unimpressive I think.
+MrMarkpark I also think that with that engine it should've had much more torque, at least!!
+MrMarkpark It's naturally aspirated though. Lots of room for improvement with that kind of engine.
jojajo2707 why not?
+MrMarkpark That's to be expected from a high revving N/A v10. But if you break it down it's actually not unimpressive. At 600lb/ft the current Vipers V10 has the most torque of any naturally aspirated production engine ever but it requires 8.4 liters to do so, giving it a torque per liter rating of 71lb/ft per liter.
The R8s FSI 5.0 V10 makes around 376lb/ft giving it a ratio of 75lb/ft per liter. So the Audi is actually able to make more specific peak torque than the torquiest production engine yet.
+Ethanmeister Shelby 350.... 5.2L V8..... 429 torque (82 lb/ft per liter)Porsche 911 GT3 .... 3.8.... 324 torque (85 lb/ft per liter)Ferrari 458... 4.5L V8... 398 torque (88 lb/ft per liter)yeah.... not that impressive
I said professional racing drivers. 6 year old GTR fanboys on TH-cam don't count.
Where on this video do you see professional racing vehicles? These are production vehicles and are judged by various different aspects. You would take the R8, good for you, so would i probably. But not because professional drivers say so. I would test drive both cars and decide judging by my own experience. Not because someone else said so. Your point is so irrelevant to the video.
preofessional drivers hate it. find out why
It is possible to turn of the traction control however making the car much more fun to drive.
You may call the GT-R boring but that is because Nissan engineered and perfected it to be this way. How many cars over 500 hp can you drive so easily?
If you want fun you can always put every mode in race, the gtr shuts off driver aids.
Augusto Ortiz whenever you put a GTR's traction control into race it doesn't shut it off completely.
Yeah, I think I'll have the Audi R8.
cough cough japanese V6 does 2.7 sec from 0 to 60 mph cough cough and sounds better cough cough
THE MLG
I did say the GT-R (I presume, that's the "japanese V6" you're talking about is) accelerates faster.
The VR36DETT however isn't as nice sounding as either the 5.2 FSI V10 in the R8 or even the 2.5 TFSI Straight-5 in the RS3 and TT-RS.
ShadowFalcon
it sounds like KILLAH
THE MLG
It sounds like a muffled Nissan Sunny.
Or at least, that's what it sounds like through stock exhaust pipes. How it sounds through other exhausts I can only speculate on.
ShadowFalcon it sounds good
with straight pipe gives a eargasm
GTR r32 is still the king
No, it really isn't.
Twinkie Fun y u like my comment then lmao
It isn't, no it's not, no no.
Public Enemy r34 or go home mate
***** you don't know me son what if im John F kennedy its just that the CIA faked my assasination because they knew we were close to global nuclear war and the recent events in cuba angered the Soviets because they looked weak for backing down and withdrawing nukes so they faked my death afraid if I was elected it would lead to more tension and allowed Nixon a bigger chance of winning the next election because they knew he would help to convince the Chinese to join our sides and become capitaists therefore reducing the price of global industries so that more people could afford every day items as well as cheaper for big compaines to purchase prodcuts
All you morons arguing over which car is better but you all know damn well you wouldn't mind having either car in your garage hahaha
The audi just looks better, like a lot better.
I like R8's front and GTR's back
theviniso I like the r8's side
Patria O muerte same lol
actually nope
I agree with you on the hating part, but imo both german automotive and japanese automotive are tied at this point.
ThEsMoKeRhAsCoNvErSe Can you imagine German and Japanese combine their art engineering supercar?. FUCKING YEAH!!
VampirateBloodR8 That would be fucking crazy, but awesome!
i am literally laughing out loud at this, I know I shouldn't be...
and yet there are many toyota and honda in america
Randy's description of the GTR makes me want to buy the R8 every time.
Actually the way your comment was, it's called an opinion because on the road I like more of a noisy cars and go fast ppl will hear me zooming by them and feeling the bumps in the road(I really don't know why I like hitting bumps but whatever) and I also have a less chance of sleeping while driving, which will probably end up killing someone.
xD
I will take the GTR and save $50K for another more comfortable road car. It clearly outclasses the R8 in every performance category. You dont buy a performance car for luxury. You buy it to perform.
another 10 yr old fanboy, its not all about performance kid!
Lol
Dr Feel Good Yeah, the name. At the end, it all that matters for most people.
Hi guys, did you miss the R8 lap time, cuz I've only seen 01:19:55 for the GTR. How slow the R8 is?
The R8 is clearly the better car.
TheLordoftheRavens No.
Adrian Neigenfindt You should watch the video. Especially the end, where he explicitly states that the R8 is better in a plethora of ways.
TheLordoftheRavens In my opinion the GT-R is better. I don't like the design that much I just love it because of the facts
Adrian Neigenfindt If you look at the facts, you will see that the R8 is clearly better. Did you even watch the video?
TheLordoftheRavens Not till the end.. lol The R8 is better I got it now. But I would prefer the GT-R tho
Love both cars but would take the GTR.
1. 4 seats
2. A lotttttt cheaper.
3. Japanese so a lot cheaper to maintain and more reliable.
4. Would kill any supercar and would eat muscle car in 0-60.
Nobody can fit in the back seat
cheaper to maintain? the gtr is in a service price class of a porsche 911 gt2! brakes are shit and change it at nissan costs 6000 euro!
DiabloSVR98 Japanese cars will always be easier to maintain. European cars are always the most expensive to maintain because of their configuration. Talk to literally any car mechanic.
If the GTR has 4 seats then so does a 911 lol
Keep in mind that the r8 is German made which is also extremely reliable
GTR is a beast no one beats it
Ha ha very funny... k i no dat GTR and Lambo has rivalries but i still like gtr over audi
Faiyed Halim lamborghini are audis
no way!!!
Faiyed Halim en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamborghini
That was sarcasm bro
God I love those people who say "this car feels better than that car" when they've driven neither of the cars or even have seen them being pushed to the limits. Makes me laugh tbh.
Keep Godzilla. I’ll take driver involvement every time.
great to see two dream cars against each other, but one prefers to go to the r8 anyway
R8 is the best car!
I have both and I love both in their own ways...
On a track the GT-R would destroy just about anything.
I guess it's a good thing I'm a girl. Cause I like the R8.
***** *face palm*
Joseph C. R8 is not for the man is for the fucked up ones haha, the Nissan GT-R is like a F1 racing machine, the fucked up ones like you prefer cars like R8, not the technological thing, if you were a bit more clever you would not consider what they say in these pesky videos.
***** Speak English you fob fucker.
Z\28 says hi
V10 only 398 lb/ft???????? Is that a joke???? I like Audi but when a V6 kicks ur ass there's something wrong. German cars are good cars but the GT-R clearly kicks it's fucking ass no matter what people say. I love the GT-R I would get this in a heartbeat.
Why would there be something wrong?
The v10 is atmospheric the v6 is turbocharged.
romeomuradin So is the Vipers V10 but it still manages 600 lb/ft so what is Audis excuse for only 398?
Mykell Schexnayder smaller displacement...maybe
I have a feeling that after what the RS7 did with the 4.0 (even crazier when tuned) we wont be seeing the V10 for much longer. The RS6 has already dropped it.
Cylinder number doesnt mean more power, there are too many variables to making power than just cylinder number
You've butchered the English language while trying to make your point, but i do agree.
TheLegingerbreadman Sorry, but it's a foreignlanguage.
I guess it's because non-Whites don't have souls, right?
emp0rizzle lol!
Rafael Pressler So you compare a sportwagon with a Supra?
If someone were to offer me either set of keys to pick one to have for free....it's a tough call, man, I love em both! They are my number one and number two fav cars of all time..
Nissan GTR and japanese style for life !!!
The Audi R8 is for girls. It doesn´t look manly at all!
Audi r8 gets the girls.... the gtr is a dick magnet, the r8 is a chick magnet
The gtr is a a amazing thing but it's to ugly and rides to hard I had one
They say it's more embarrassing when you get whooped by a girl, so.. idk xD
InfinitySmile XL
GTR looks ugly? which planet you are from?
i have a gtr black edition its better than a audi r8
Is Nissan even making profit with GT-R?
yes but probably not a lot consider GT-R is not the car Nissan is mainly sell.
do u guys also hear like a person on the radio talking at 10:59, it is very faint, but it is there, can u tell me what that is?
I would take the r8 any day
Both are great cars. but the GTR was much better to own and much faster than the R8. I just wish the GTR wasn't so insulated so you could hear the sound better.
It's a turbo, by its nature you won't hear the nice engine sound of a natural aspirated engine like in the R8.
goognam goognws
Tell that to a German car.
goognam goognws Well turbo changes the exhaust/engine sound, but when you pair it with a blow off valve its the most sexy sound on the earth! Check out videos with turbo civic type-r's or si's.
HOW ABOUT YOU PUT THE SAME TIRES ON BOTH CARS AND SEE WHICH ONE IS FASTER? motor trend u fail again.
If the Audi didn't come with better tires, why reward it?
I love both of these cars. Awesome video
Really need equal rubber on these comparison tests. Is it that hard to do?
Stfu saying its just a nissan and you wouldnt pay 100k for just a nissan. This is mothaphucking Godzilla and its way faster than anything you haters will ever have
-12 yo
GT-R all the way!
To be honest, the GT-R just looks like a standard car, like any Subaru or other Asian car on the market. The R8 looks like a supercar. The GT-R have better performance and Nissan have done a great work on that part, but the R8 have enough power and since it looks 10x better, the choice is easy.
to be honest,I'd go for performance than looks
Japan*
+Vem där Performance > Looks. Any day.
F**ck performance if I don't enjoy my driving experience. For this comparison, give me the Audi or give me death
could buy a GTR and an RS4 for the price of an R8 V10...not worth it.
+Yoseob Yang start saving kid
exactly! the gtr is like somewhere between riding shotgun and driving the audi. its fun, make no mistake, but the audi, or a hellcat, or something else incredible like that is just plain impossible to drive without smiling
For all the GRT fanboys. WATCH TILL THE END they clearly say the Audi R8 wins
+lithium2000 ? they are the same price lmao
jrsmoothman2 The cars compared are 116k vs. 189k. 62% difference
lithium2000 O wow, didn't know that. Looking forward to the R8 2017. This GTR is amazing. Absolutely amazing.
This video made me realize how Japanese the GTR really is
2 Absolutely gorgeous vehicles!
I love Audi but with that much price difference fuck Audi, Nissan GT-R is unbelievable.
yeah gtr and its assisted computerized suspension adjust to a track and memorizes it to make driving easy :/ basically means takes no skill to drive and is not so interactive and own one and see its really not so great when parts start failing prematurely especially if u track and do one or two launches it so it sucks especially the transmission that fails even at 15k mileage many stuff not under warranty
Well I don't know bout that brah ,,I don't own one ,,I only own Nissan Altima which is pretty good😜😜😜.
kcuf foo
just saying that the nissan gtr sucks ass and nissan knows that cause they wont cover the launch control in the warranty when they provide it on the car...my friend right now is changing his gearbox his gtr is only 3months old now :/
Roberson Lub Pls tell your friend get to know first how to drive GTR
Abid Chou
lol what this is a gearbox failure. u can do launches in a porsche 911 turbo consecutively and have absolutely no problems!!! and they actually covere their launch control because they know it will hold up!! bro used launch control and tracked it a few times
Most of the arguing fanboys didn't even touch these cars before, so shut the fuck up.
+Willian Peng Bet you didn't either.
Chocolatepoptars that's why I'm not saying shit about any of these cars
I have an r8 2015
+AKF .gaming I have both, so I won.
Oh wait... have them on GT6, does that count too?
YoLiGe Never said I won or anything Im just saying Willian made an assumption.
gtr is a car not to be beaten by anyone bye all side if u win in race cant win in price or reliablity bcz its asian and asian build cars better reliable and cheaper GTR IS THE KING
Z\28 says hi
C7 Z06 8SPD Auto laughs
Xenios9 and GT-R says bye
randy pobst needs his own channel. i could watch this guy all day.
Selvin Calix I'm not 13 you idiot. Yes I feel the R35 gas an under steer much more than the R34
LOL
gtr is the best the could it been made
He's saying that because the Audi dances a lot, it's a "dancer". ( 6:20 )
Now the GTR hooks, does that make it a "hooker"? xD
so to all the people saying that gtr is not thier pick because it is not "Involving" enough or handles too good is boring. i guess when they make race cars they should make them not handle good and stick to the road like the GTR but make a racecar that oversteers or understeers too much so it would be more fun?
I don't get why people say they don't like the gtr because it's too easy to drive. Thats the whole point of a good car. No one would upgrade chassis and supsensions to make it oversteer more so it would be more involving, thats just stupid. I guess there are going to be way more rich people buying supercars and crasing them because they can't handle the oversteer from a burnout, LOL!!! unless everyone on youtube are pro drivers and will be able to handle a 500+hp car going 80mph around a corner then ill be wrong.
Some of these people are just hating the gtr because it completely demolishes their favorite overpriced overhyped super cars LOL.
left4deadian true
left4deadian SOOOOO TRUE!!!!!
+Jack Rotter said the kid lol.. i am german and Audi is a expensive VW..low Quality. brainless fanboy. the gtr guy will take your "girlfriend"
Daumex um..no if you consider the fact that the Audi has 4 more cylinder than the GTR and larger displacement.
+Robert DiGiovanni There's nothing more poser than a GTR though. Your post basically looks like every 12 year old GTR fanboy on TH-cam.
NISSAN all day baby!!
+Alex 77 I got a Nissan Cefiro and my wife has a Ford Fusion. I always drive the Ford Fusion. You know what, in general, Nissan sucks.
+Buck Rogers how many times did you take your ford to the dealer?
Hing holo You know shit about the Ford Fusion.
Buck Rogers yea you have to live close to a ford dealer.
love these head to heads, so personal!
GTR so ugly
agree its just a box basically super wide the skyline r34 looks better than a gtr35
Maybe, but audi ios look like shit
I don't like the back, doesn't have style. Well, this is the difference between a sports car and a luxury sports car. This is also the reason why rich people would never buy a gtr instead of a (ex: lambo) because of the performance (like the children in the comments section say they would do).
David Thomas GtR looks so ugly, but R8 looks like a SHIT. cant even compare it
skuirpy scuirpy the fuck are you talking about? R8 is one of the most amazing looking cars. Gtr looks like a fast car on a design budget. Audi has Class written all over it
I'd pick a Porsche 911 over these anyday.
You will be still be beat by the r8 in a 911 Turbo… I just watched a video by Car and Driver. You have the straights (which honestly is most common in RL) but the r8 has the track.
Okay? I didn't say it was faster or anything, just prefer it all around more than either of these cars, just my preference.
gotcha, definitely a pretty car no doubt. For me, even if it looks like a ice cream truck, I'm choosing the fastest
*daps
by any chance do you like richard hammond?
Spending 100K on a cheap, plasticky Nissan is just stupid. Class and luxury can be worth more than lap times.
When you spend more money on things thn it value dosent make u high class.. tht makes u an idiot..
The new z06 can give a GTR a run for its money. It's also cheaper than a GTR.
This gen R8 in misano red just looks perfect
gtr might be faster, Id stil take germany over japan anyday. that and it much more ugly compared to the audi
I'll give it one thing, I rode in my friends gtr and 0 to 10 is practicly instant
Your ugly
So Activ that's your opinion. The GTR is by far the better car all around. But I personally like the looks of the Audi a bit better
WELL THAT AWFUL AUDI LOOKS LIKE A 997.9 911 AND A BEETLE COMBINED
🔴🔴\____________/🔴🔴
+Michael Dob who wants luxury over race car. if you want to talk about how well comfort and good suspension than let's go over to rolls royce and talk about it. who the fuck in this world wants that fucking comfort in race car,.
-The GTR is in meaning of Grand Touring Racing car.
-The GTR is also Famous GTR nismo Le mans race car.
-The GTR is cheaper, but Faster.
-The GTR is also AWD.
-The GTR is not a supercar, it''s The Supercar.
-you are wrong sir, the BEST ever AWD car is Bugatti Veyron SS 16.4
-GTR can shit over lamborghini in terms of SPEED which mostly concerned in sports car or even in super car, who wants the super car that cant eve go fast xD funny right?
-Audi have been here longer but R8 havent been here longer which is out of history, you cant make the history. So you are aventually WRONG. nissan have not been longer than audi but GTR have been here longer than R8. AND we arnt comparing AUDI VS NISSAN. this is comparison in between of R8 vs GTR.
-luxury? let's go talk with MR.rolls royce
-guess what R8 fuckers: from 2010 to 2014 most car have been sold at a month is 278/ BUT from 2010 to 2014 most car for R8 have been sold is 173. which shows how more people buys GTR rather than that crappy R8.
this is why GTR is much better than R8 sir. :)
THANK YOU finally someone who doesn't say the Audi R8 is a "sports car" along with the Nissan GT-R PEOPLE THESE FINE CARS ARE SUPER CARS
Sorry to tell you but:
Europe>Asia>Usa in term of Cars...
And yes, IT IS FAST :-)
That gap between Japanese and European car driving dynamic qualities are closing in.
Nissan GTR is an incomplete car in a complete car price range. That is why the audi wins.
Of course they are biased because Americans hate the Japanese ever since Pearl Harbour i mean get over it already.
-Even though the Dodge will beat the R8, it's still worth getting over the GT-R because the Challenger would shit all over the GT-R
-If you say that the GT-R has been here for longer than the R8, it doesn't count because we're comparing the modern crappy GT-R to the R8. Germany and Audi however, have been here for much longer.
That's cute...
This costed Audi millions to plan, design and build So why shouldn't they put it at a higher price than the GT-R
Sooo.....The GT-R is for speed while the R8 is built for performance.
***** 'Jeremey Clarkson'
265justy Go back to playing with your toys kid because you seem too butthurt and not know anything about cars. In fact, go read a book about cars....
gtr is an ugly car, grill looks like a dodge charger, side scoops mimick the corvette the new stingray, the interior is made of plastic and computer
Only someone who has never driven a Vette would call it crappy.
nissan sucks gtr is more attractive to more people than many European super expansive cars because its reputation.... more crowd for gtr.. look on TH-cam from R32, 33, 34 and R 35 gtr.
haha u mad cuz japan beats a V12 with a V6
The Audi R8 is my absolute favourite car, and has been since I was 11. I also really Luke the GTR, which is definitely in my top 5 favourite cars. It's so annoying when people say, "I like this car, so the other one sucks". Both cars are fantastic displays of engineering, design, and beauty.
The GT-R is such a boring looking car.
The seats in the GTR are soooooo Pretty! Black and Dark Blue
The front of the R8 is just sick especially those headlights..
What is the name of the song/music playing 0:30 to 0:48.
+Enigma Cipher very well put in words couldnt agree more.
Watch Nissan do a comeback with the R36 or whatever they decide to name their next gen GT-R then it’ll be another game of everyone figuring out how they do it. Honestly though both are amazing cars just depends on your personal taste mine is the GT-R I grew up knowing that car ever since. And next time put on the same tires or at the very least similar tires that’ll actually show the difference between the two at the track.
it's like 1 boxer knocking out the other, and you saying the downed boxer won because he is more elegant. you probably got paid by audi.
Interior is most likely comparable to a 2007 Toyota Camry
doesnt have to be fancy to be fast
I feel a sense of contradictions among the comments. ..first GTR against AMG gtr ,people praised the AMG. ... GTR againsst porche 911, people praised the 911 now the r8 people at GTR. If you look at it properly all the other German cars are more expensive than the R8 and do not handle better than the AUDi
The price to performance ratio on the GT-R is just mind blowing!
My two favorite cars. Thank you MT
R8 is a great car, and I would take it over any other sports car, but one- the GTR! :)
This generation of Audi R8 will never go down in value
So they spend a good 3/4 of the video explaining how the GT-R performs slightly better and feels better than the R8, then say the R8 wins for literally no freaking reason? Yeah ok...
