i didnt realise the old inner sill welding was quite that bad 🤣great video!
Haha it was rather amusing 😂 they slapped on 3mm metal on top of the existing rust without removing it. My mini uses 0.8mm thick metal...and not only that but they didn't even weld around it fully 😂
@@laurakershawworkshop ... really didnt realise it was that horrendous 🤣
Great intuitive episode! Cant wait for the next video
Thank you Justin! I'm glad you found it interesting 🎉🎉
Mad skills ❤
Thank you Titus!
always interesting watching a Mini vlog. Nice one!
Thank you! I watched so many before starting 😂
Good info on the welding
Thank you. Hopefully made it clear enough for any newbies to understand 😂
@@laurakershawworkshop for me enough to start with welding
Omg! Love love this video, go girl power!!
Thank you 🎉🎉🎉
Great video, very interesting and I’m already looking forward to the next part 😊
Thank you Sy 🎉
@@laurakershawworkshop always love your videos
Love the facts and detail, especially the difference of welding processes MIG? TIG?
@gramjones9584 Thank you! The next video coming out will be about coming 2nd in RedBull Soap box. Then after that and one art comission video, there will be another interesting mini video 👀 I'm about 6 videos ahead of myself.
The Mini is one of the greatest driving cars. Great choise. Any interest in a small list of little mods that will greatly improve your car?
YES PLEASE! I Was hoping I'd get tips from the community. I'm 7 videos ahead of myself so my mini is further along than you currently see it. But I'm still not sure what mods to make!
@@laurakershawworkshop do you have a SPI/MPI?
@@laurakershawworkshop are you planning to, or have taken your engine out?
@@GTE_Channel yes I think taking the engine out would be beneficial for my learning
@@laurakershawworkshop ok so here is what I would , its just advice and nearly everything can be done at a later date as well.
If you take the engine out I would highly recommend changing the camshaft (unless your engine is allready fitted with a MG Metro camshaft as standard) A modern camshaft like a Swiftune SW5 will give your engine torque from idle to top revs making it a blast do drive and overtake. With engine out a lighter flywheel would also be a great upgrade if funds allow that.
A tuned cilinderhead can be to expensive for most, but any decent engine shop can do a 3 angle grind on the valves, this will make them flow better and boost performance. This is a really cheap modification.
Any Mini will benefit from a decent sports exhaust, so I will allways recommend that.
The best part of the Mini is the handling. A small investment in making front and rear geometry fully adjustable is a great investment. Also the rubber cones are often neglected, replacing them will make the car slightly more comfortable.
Enjoy the process!
