Glad it helped! Make sure to give the video a thumbs up and subscribe. There is a second video where I show calibrating the hand brakes the two brakes pull evenly together

Good work! You can’t beat a Kia. Well, you can if you find a large enough branch!

Drum brakes are such a pain, i allways take photos of wher everything goes before i tear them apart.

The MANUAL adjuster is what really surprised me. My 38 year old golf mk1 has auto adjusters on the drums. (It’s just a wedge with a spring ) why couldn’t Kia do the same. Your right take photos of everything. But I couldn’t get the shoes back on until I found out you put the shoe holders On first and then rebuild

    REINSTALLATION
    1. Affix top shoe
    2. Affix bottom shoe
    3. Install eBrake adjuster
    4. Install rear spring
    5. Install front spring
    6. Install shoe adjuster.
    7. Reinstall the drum; check for alignment of the shoe adjuster to the access hole.
    8. Install the pads
    9. Install the caliper mount
    10. Install the caliper
Fortunately, I only replace shoes once every 10 years. This was the hardest shoe replacement I've ever done. The shoe ID is scant larger than the axle. Installing the rear spring is the worst part.

The clips that hold the brakes shoes on. I put them in first so the brakes shoes are kind of just hanging there. Made the job a lot easier. Yeah rear springs are a pain too , also have a video on them 😅

The spring is so difficult to connect on each side of break shoes, how can we do this?

Put the bottom holding pin in first . As seen in the video
