I know the game didn't originally come out in 2021, but Spiritfarer was my top favourite game this year since it pulled me out of a depressive rut at the start of the year. The game has such a big space in my heart, and I recently restarted the game so I could play through again to experience the new spirits added this year!! If you've been considering buying spiritfarer, do it. Best purchase of my life, it's such a fresh emotional experience
I played a tiny bit of Spiritfarer but got carried away by other games! 😭 I want to play it but I need to make the time for it. It looks like such a great game, and especially when I hear stories like yours (glad you're feeling better now), it makes me really feel like I'm missing out on such a beautiful experience. At least when I do play, I'll get to experience all the new spirits that were added in recent updates.

It's definitely a slowburn at the start, even I didn't like it when I first picked it up, but once you get immersed into the game, you don't even notice that time has just flown right past. I remember when I first picked it up it was like 12pm, and then I checked again it was like 8 or 10pm. The character's stories are also super real and argh, will probably make you sob 😭 I'd love to see you play it too!! :D
PoOT was my top played game this year! I loved it. I need to pick it up again. I've been concentrating on ACNH to try to design 30 homes so I can start redecorating my Islanders homes. I can't wait for RF5! I've been saving my "fun money" for it.
I need to play more ACNH! I love the new DLC and update so much but still I've only designed 6 or 7 homes as I've been too busy with other games. Good to hear you've got your money saved up for RF5! 😄

I've been playing all three. Sandrock is very fun, I've been enjoying Coral Island, but it crashes a lot. I was very much looking forward to SunnySide, but after playing it for about 10 minutes, it made me so motion sick I had to turn it off. I'm not sure what to change to make it playable for me.

I am loving RF5 I had really wanted to love the new story of seasons but there was so much that it lacked. It was a gut punch as I had such high nostalgia from the old games.
I loved how you played Harvest Moon sound track in the background ❤️ that was the first game that made me love games in general! Keep up the good work, love watching your videos.
Stranded Sails was one of my favorite farming games. Farming, fishing, exploration, minor fighting all as a ship wrecked first mate who needs to take care of the stranded crew. Gather material to repair your ship. Fun rowing around islands for cooking and material. Warping abilities to help you return to nearby islands once you find them. I am hoping for a sequel.
It's always a lovely night to see a vid from Josh. Also, love me some Sun Haven and Rune Factory 5. I'm gonna make sure to play the English RF5 the minute it comes out. Your vids are really what got me brave enough to play it in Japanese.

This is good to know, I really disliked that mini game. I haven’t played since the launch when my character got stuck at the beach so I’ll have to check it out again.

Watching one of SoS PooT made me subscribe to your channels. I still ACNH working on my island. Garden Paws was random farming/life game I found on steam and played non stop for 2 week, they added new updates but still buggy even on PC version. I'm looking forward to RF5 unless you showcase random game. I'm glad you feeling better still rest up when need it. I know from experience not good feeling tired all and in my household can be noisy. Recently, picked up Harvest Moon: New beginning from hearing you mention during a stream initially there is nothing to do until near end of first month it's okay but can be repetitive.

Also played some stardew valley and Farm Together which was a surprisingly fuun game. I put the most hours into Farm Together with almost 150 hours. It was the most addicting because of how the farming works. Also finally started Spiritfarer this month with the Farewell edition coming out and I’m absolutely loving it! I tried the demo before and it didn’t hook me, but then I watched a documentary here on YT about the making of Spiritfarer and decided to give it a go and now it probably is my favorite of the year. Already 40+ hours in and I know it’s a game I actually want to 100%. And now during Christmas I started playing Valheim with a bunch of people. So much fun. It has farming too so maybe you could justify playing it on the channel. Building, crafting and farming! But in a viking setting and lot’s of trolls, bosses and not the typical cute style. 😆 Great game though! Wishing you a happy and healthy holiday Josh! Most recent update from the devs for Roots of Pacha says that the beta releases this April, and full release will be near the end of 2022. April beta will have irrigation!
My favorite farming game so far is Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town & it was my favorite game so far sent I got it back in May 2021 & now I’m still playing it right now & meet my favorite bachelor that have the same age as me is the best part & moment ever in 2021 & meeting new dlc marriage candidates are amazing & the update version are awesome & experience at the same time & meeting Damon & being there for him is part of the game so far & i can see how much Damon change after I married to him & he always have a smile on his face in Olive Town in 2021 & 2022 & I hope you feel better soon & happy new year josh 😉

Have you tried playing Re:Legend? its still in "early access" but when I tried it out it was basically a complete game. Its rune factory inspired with a balance of farming, taming, and combat as well. The steam reviews are mixed but tbh I don't see much wrong with it. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it! Its kinda scratching that rune factory itch for me. Thanks and happy new year everyone :)

I want a new, big story of seasons with a similar art style to Save the Homeland or A Wonderful Life. None of the other games have hit my sweet spot for design like those ones.
Yes yes yes! I think the 3rd person view, rather than top-down, made these game so immersive. I'd be happy with ports or remakes, but I'd love a brand new game in a similar style.
@@JoshGamingGarden For sure, man! I started playing through Animal Parade a few days ago and can not get over the main character's dead-eyed look. They really nailed it with the classic 90's/early 00's character designs. And I agree on the 3rd person thing, it just made the worlds feel bigger and more real to me, even if they were actually pretty small.

Oh yes I did play the Sandrock demo this year! But I maybe played it 2, 3 hours in total so it was a bit short to put on this list! It will probably make the list in 2022 however!

Josh, I'm glad you're feeling better. Yeah, unfortunately you can still get Covid while vaccinated but it lessens the severity so you're not hospitalized at least. Take it easy until you get your energy back. We'll all still be here!
Glad you're better right now.. my friends got covid too, and he was feeling better after taking an oxygen tank.. do you had any oxygen lately? it verymuch helps to regaining strength and ease to breath..

Josh, I'm glad you're feeling better. Yeah, unfortunately you can still get Covid while vaccinated but it lessens the severity so you're not hospitalized at least. Take it easy until you get your energy back. We'll all still be here!

my friends got covid too, and he was feeling better after taking an oxygen tank.. do you had any oxygen lately?

Wow I haven't heard someone mentioning Mabinogi in a long time! I had no idea that game was still going on. I don't remember if I ever played it (maybe a bit?), but it's impressive to see an MMO survive this long.

Pretty disingenuous of using a canceled game's footage here. Literally had to spend 20 something minutes to find out what game 00:38 was.

Vaccines don't 100 prevent, they just make it harder to get. Also if you do get it, it makes it shorter and less as harsh. Still be safe 💛 glad you're doing better.
