Baffling to me why Sports Bizarre doesn't have many many more subscribers and views. The America's Cup series has been (to my surprise) the best of the lot yet there are other topics where I thought I knew the story (i.e Colonel Sanders, Dock Ellis) and the story telling made an already good story great. MASH, Cheers, Seinfeld all needed time to refine and find a wide audience. Keep the Faith!!
This a great series that Titus has researched very well. My father Craig was friends with Sir Frank back in the 60's and sailed with him often during the years of those campaigns with Gretel. Frank used to moor the legendary boat in front of his house at Palm Beach in the Pittwater north of Sydney.
The British did challenge again in 1983 by peter de savey a British tycoon actually challenged Australia 2 in the challenger races , actually peter helped the Australia challenge in court to let Australia 2 sail for the cup in 1983 …. The British are now again involved thru skipper Ben anisley in 2017 in Bermuda the most capped Olympic sailor ever and knighted sir Ben ainley with 4 gold one silver medals but was unable to beat the might of the kiwis with peter burling as skipper in the challenger series , burling went on to win in Bermuda beating the Americans with jimmy spithill an Australian at the helm then in 2021 again Ainslie challenges for Britain again but unable to win the rights to challenge again this time Australian skipper spithill wins that right but is sailing for the Spanish team Prada but unable to strip burling for the cup … we now arrive at the current americas cup cycle to be decided in Bermuda the kiwis being the holder of the cup and peter burling still sailing for New Zealand with challengers being Britain skippered by Ainsley , Spain skippered by spithill ,Swiss team skippered by Nikolas Rolaz and American team skippered by Australian Tom slingsby , Tom slingsby to date is said to be the best skipper around winning the Grand Prix 50 circuit the last 3 times but as always means nothing to win the cup you must first win the challenger series then beat the defender who to present is kiwi peter burling … but the present cup cycle is stacked with said to be the worlds best sailors which aussies and kiwis sailors though out all the teams but the fact remains its a challenge by yacht clubs and the winning club being the winner of the cup for their respected country despite crews on the boats who may or may not live in that country but are given citizenship by the country’s yacht club to compete for them …the boats of today are technical masterpieces 72 foot foiling boats that can reach speeds of over 100kph sailing up to 3 times the wind speed ..
This is correct, 1964 was the last time the British were in the *final match* for the Cup, but there have been British challengers many times in the years since.

Fantastic series. Really enjoying this. Very informative, but more importantly, really funny.
