@@jordhuga271I can't believe the population (and their children) who adored this show could elect Donald Trump. The education department has failed the country massively. The Democratic party needs to work on the requirements for graduation from middle school and up.
And maybe we need to take back some diplomas. We have made a joke out of the lives of the military who fought and died in the revolutionary war thru WWII and then some. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Appreciate the content, but it’s a crime to not include Toby’s rant in the Oval Office after he found out about the MS. “ I bet all the money in all my pockets against all the money in your pockets that it was Leo, who nobody elected!!!!” made me convert to Sorkinism
I've watched the series probably at least five times I have the whole series on discs I guess now I'll have to pull them out and pull out my disc player and watch The West Wing because I'm not paying to watch it on Paramount or any other place 👍🏼😊 this series should be shown in high school in politics 101 you learn so much about politics in this series it's amazing. It's a true treasure 🥰
Definitely the last episode on Season 2 first time i saw it i was really floored President Bartlett's self doubts and the way Dire Straits Brothers in Arms kicked in fantastic!
I’ve seen this show countless times. It started when my at her introduced it to be when I was in high school (UK) and I can honestly say it ignited my interest in government and politics. Although, real politics differs greatly from WW, and there are many people across YT and beyond who criticise the show for being too idealistic and naive, I can honestly say it still hold a special place in my heart, so much so it inspired me to go study foreign policy and American politics at university. Season 2 has always been one of my favourites, looking at how Josh, Toby, Sam and CJ met Leo and Jed and their journey’s to the White House, shame that didn’t appear much in this video, would love to see a long form video on those flashbacks. Also love seasons 6/7 with Santos v Vinick and would love to see a log form video summing up the GE campaign between them plus maybe Arnie becoming Secretary of State. Keep up the good work on this channel, sure I speak for loads when I say it’s great to see these clips.
"The Big Hammer" scene - OMG...I love that...do you realize there's like a solid 4 minutes of buildup to sell just one joke!? OMG...I love it when someone commits to a joke soooo hard.
Now, more than ever, I wish this show was real life. Every character feels more real than what we face today - and yet it's clear which team we are rooting for, so maybe not so different after all.
A few of these clips are in my top ten... but the Thanksgiving Turkey Pardon episode makes me laugh every time. 'Donna would you have Morton take Troy back to his pen, and remember to support his hind quarters... What's wrong...?... The turkey's hindquarters!' Poor Morton from Jasper Farms... though I wouldn't be opposed to supporting Morton's hindquarters 🙂
23:45 Although the king of Thailand's name was Bumibol Adulyadej, his regnal name was actually Rama IX. It would have been incredibly cool if President Bartlett would have used the regnal name in response to the introduction, showing off a greater depth of knowledge than the guy standing next to him.
Seems strange to cut the best part of the last clip. But great compilation nonetheless. T:"Leo, you got me a life boat?" L:"Greg Summerhayes?" T:"Yeah." L:"Yeah, I got you a lifeboat." T:"Did you imagine that there were any circumstances under which I would use it?" L:"No." T:"Then why?" L:"To show him that."
38:32 - this storyline didn’t add up to me. It might have worked if it was a blogger or a podcast or really *anyone* but Danny who broke the story. Danny is a seasoned White House reporter who needs access to and a good relationship with the administration to be effective. He is also seasoned enough to know the president’s family is off-limits and the president would be red-hot when this quote came out. If Ellie had called him, he would have at a bare minimum warned CJ way in advance to let her know the circumstances - not after the quote, he might have asked permission, and he possibly would have simply rejected the call completely.
There's an actual factual misspeak by Toby. Jamestown wasnt 16th century. The settlement was founded circa 1608, which is 17th century. If Toby was referring to the "lost" Roanoke settlement circa 1578....well, he shouldnt have said Jamestown. Pretty sure on this.
Look, I love seeing these clips again, but whoever edited this extended one missed the point of most of them. Case in point with the last one -all the Greg Summerhaze build up and then cut the most important quote from Toby/Leo? This is supposed to be "the best" of Season 2, and it doesn't include the scene in the limo/hospital after the shooting? The guy in the hole story? The Toby bouncing the ball cold open? The Two Cathedrals rant at God? Please tell me this was done by a work-experience kid who hasn't seen the show. Or maybe AI.
"Best of season 2" and you didn't include Ainsley's job interview. The most charming and hilarious moment in the entire show. Nor "How'd you cut your hand, Josh?". Nor Toby's coup d'etat rant. I'm not certain that the person compiling this video has even watched the show.
I'm looking at that Boy Scout tripod firewood formation at 20:59 (a formation which is meant for open air, NOT an indoor fireplace) and I'm screaming internally because if those Ivy League idiots actually light that, I'm going to have to figure out time/dimension travel and throttle them both. Edit: Ooookay, Josh and Sam lit that fire, so I need to call the local NASA office and talk to their people. At least five people over there have a semi-workable time/dimension/multiverse travel theory. I can't help with the mathematics or the science, but I will volunteer as a test subject.
It’s probably harder to chop up clips from drama than comedy but why y’alls video either 2 minutes or 1 hour long lol. Sweet spot is probably around 10 minutes per topic. An example: The video about Josh holding the press briefing when CJ got root canal should’ve gone longer to show him getting scolded by the President at the Oval Office. You got this whichever person(s) in charge of this account!!!
The best of season 2 and almost nothing from 18th and Potomac and Two Cathedrals about Miss Landingham, really!? Do the people who put these clips together ever sit down and watch a single episode let alone a full season?
I wonder if Trump has seen a single episode of The West Wing. He still hasn't accepted the fact that it is a serious job and not a cool way to jet to Fla for a round of golf to the tune of 2.6m dollars of our money.
We know that Biden has watched. The last 4 years they've been trying to cover up his mental decline, just like they covered up Bartlett having MS on the show.
“The Best of Season 2”? Who chooses and what are your criteria? What’s the thread besides “best of”? It sure seems like you’re just wanting to profit off West Wing fans rather than being somehow of service. Your whole effort is MEH.
I’m glad to see other people still love this show too!
I have forsaken reality and just keep watching this. ❤

Yes, more long form content.

I second the motion and then some. Hopefully we survive as a nation the 2nd term of the incoming presidency.
The "best" of season 2? With no Mrs Landingham? Go and stand in the corner and think about what you've done!
The compilations are just their weird 3 min edits smashed together
Or Bartlett standing behind the podium and putting his hands in his pockets to close out the season.
People should get used to this channel being pretty damn weird in editing and scene selection
Same! In another one they ommitted the classic Bartlett reaction "There it is! What're the next ten words...." stripping away the magic...
there's no best of possible with this show. Everything is good, and Aaron Sorkin is a total script freak. 🙂
Arguably my favorite season of television ever.
What a wonderful approach to running the White House 🌊🌊🌊🌊

The Stackhouse Filibuster and the Big Hammer!!!!! What a way to start my weekend!!!❤❤❤
24:38 "sharpen a pencil would you" I nearly spat my coffee out :D :D
Grateful my timeline this life crossed Aaron Sorkin’s
And, thank you for this post
Perfectly said.

Oliver Platt is just so good!!

Leo: What do I get if I win?
Jed: Well, I can't make you the Ambassador to Thailand, I just signed that guys letter
Shiboleth and Noël are two of the best episodes of tv ever.
I love this series I wish this was how they really worked at the White House
Some have.
I love the episode where Ainsley went in the closet thinking it was a bathroom 😂
A few of these clips are in my top ten... but the Thanksgiving Turkey Pardon episode makes me laugh every time.

Any scene with Margaret is a great scene.
Tuff to beat the writing on this creation by Sorkin
How times have changed... at filming, 67% opposed legalization of marijuana.

I was expecting more Ainsley. Her meeting with Leo & "Blame it on the Bossa Nova".
HOW can you have a highlight reel without "the Bossa Nova"?!
@@Sonal.09 My first view of Ainsley was revelatory and I wanted more of that Carolina softness with the iron core that was her character.
Okay good in your version i now know the backstories on both the Dictaphone and the big Hammer! Thank you!
Sorry but every season and episode is the best of The West Wing!
Quality TV - oh how much do I miss you.
Pilgrim Detectives is something Aaron Sorkin should have pitched. :)

Need to post shareffef story your uploads are brilliant
Thank you!!
Pretty Christmas quilt!
great point
The last time I was this early, Leo was still Secretary of Labor
20:11 I don't know how they don't cry when they realise they've missed someone...
This seems so innocent now

Sigh. Agent Casper = Spook.
I *just now* got that. 🤦🤦Sorkin is a ridiculous comedic genius.
Call them Lucy and you’re on your own God I loved Leo
I forgot how overly used WW used the word "yeah".

might aswell play the whole season
You excluded the greatest moment of season 2. The finale.
You left out "the watch this" fabulous scene!
