"Sometimes I call my wife Dr. Bartlett" I love these glimpses behind the curtain to the Bartlett marriage. You just know Jed and Abby get freaky lol it's like a running gag
Indonesian here. Been a fan for ages, and that 'Bambang-Batak-Portugese scene has been bothering for years. Fact is, there most certainly is an INDONESIAN LANGUAGE. It's called Bahasa Indonesia, and it's derived from Bahasa Melayu. Yes, there are hundreds of different languages from the thousands of islands here, but Bahasa Indonesia is one of the things that unites us. Plus, Bambang is a Javanese name, not a Batak one. Thanks!
I imagine the confusion on the writers part is similar to the Philippines or India where Tagalog and Hindustani are the most prevalent languages in their respective countries but it's often taught in the west that there's so many regional languages that there's no official language (even if there obviously has to be to get any coordination done).
Well dang it, now I need to go through my complete set again including all the extras. I have a whole list of good things I haven’t seen, but I already know there’s nothing - absolutely nothing - as good as The West Wing.
I'm sorry, but "The best of..." and it doesn't contain Mrs Landingham talking about her sons (In Excelsis Deo)? Or the Rosslyn scene from "What Kind Of Day Has It Been"? Or the Jed and Leo scene from "Let Bartlet Be Bartlet"?. This compilation should be called Some Great Scenes from Season 1...
4:08 : He was not smitten but run over by a steam roller. Imagine her going on to be the Dean of Medicine and Chief Hospital Administrator of Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital
The best of series 1 - way way longer than 54 minutes. Jed’s comment about supporting Sam after his situation with Laurie “It’s nice when we can do something for prostitutes..” is my favorite line from Season 1.
Loving the autogenerated English subtitles. "no if I'm going to make you sit through this preposterous exercise we're going to to get the names of The Damp Commandments right." Nope. Definitely no irony there.
Yeah ‘best of…’ and any scene with Mandy…doesn’t quite compute… Having said that…I have to say, Moira Kelly has one hell of a throat. It ripples when she talks…like a body builder… 27:30 the punk-asses at the bar born in 1975 sound like they were born in 1955. Come on, writers room…do better…Can we agree this scene is just a little ridiculous…? (To say nothing of the fact that Zoey acted like she was in a Superman II force field. Hey dipshit…Duck your shoulder under the guy and get away…) And Charlie “you don’t know who this is” is going to convince LOTS of punkasses to back off…good move…. And the scene where Sam meets ‘Brittany’ always rubbed me the wrong way. It didn’t occur to her that she might run into Sam at a state dinner?
39:55 - Bartlett weaseled out of pardoning a mentally redarded death row inmate by talking to his local priest. And the local priest ave him the perfect out. Pretty soft.
"now I'm having a good time" One of my all time favorite scenes. Charlie is the GOAT

i LOVE this. thank you!
Thank you sir! Respects!
Was that true when the scene aired?

Pop
Watching Charlie get protective of Zoey and standing up to three complete jerks in a bar never gets tired.

I'll be binge watching TWW for the next four years. I thought I'd been done with that after 2020

For some reason I thought that was season 2? Like half way thru. I just don’t remember the context around it anymore. I just know it was Christmas
Agreed especially Mrs Landingham and her sons
The editing and scene selection on this channel leaves a lot to be desired.
excellent compilation, having the episode numbers on the scenes would be very nice.

If you do this for the other seasons, I think it would work better if it was in chronological order.
So cute how much Donna tries to set Josh up with (Marlee,) while so devoted to and in love with him
Mallory - You're a Co-Conspirator On This!
President Bartlet - I'm sorry?
Toby - You knew. We weren't counting you. It's 17 people
17 people was S2 E18. One of my favorites.
"Okey, dokey." Josh is about to have some of his body parts handed to him.

They left from Honor, Cuba
5th commandment…honor your parents
Bring me the finest muffins and bagels in all the land.
Honor thy Father & thy Mother IS the FIFTH Commandment!
I was Sure it was the 11th... I hate it when I'm wrong.
Finally someone got it right.
TBF, there are a number of different interpretations of the numbering of the Commandments.
CJ doin the jackal
The West Wing, awesome video I loved it
I liked this a lot when it was on. Then, couldn't watch it for years, it was too painful. Enjoying it now. Some will mock me for that but idc
@ 50:24 when modern shows need three pages of script, Aaron Sorkin uses 5 seconds and one word: fine.
C.J. does scrub up well.
These compilations really do show how little thought goes into this channel as a whole.
How so?
@@StanfordMommaerts-Brown I'm convinced the scene selection is done by an AI bot, or at least by someone who doesn't care at all about the show.
if only this was how the White House really worked
I have no idea how half of these clips were chosen!

@19:00 that's how you stick by your people
Noted.
I've posted this elsewhere but I hate to see Karl Malden wrong. About the vengeance line.
With that attitude, I wouldn't spend five minutes with Mallory McGarry.
Bartlett handled more real problems in one day than djt handles in a month.
How is Lory going to be allowed to join the bar when it comes out she has been putting herself through law school by violating the law?
A personal letter from the U.S. Attorney General goes a long way.
Apparently it's not cause for disbarment because it's not a felony
@@gavpowell7864 IIRC, an inmate could become a lawyer... or that's just Hollywood bs....
not CJ's real voice doing the jackal
Why would federal agents come in with their guns already drawn?
CJ's "The Jackal" scene was one of the cringiest moments ever, in any TV show, ever.
21:00
Thought it was one of the best scenes in the series. The Jackal, I mean.
It’s not when you realize Aaron wrote it because he saw Allison doing it in her trailer.
Agreed.
I liked the jackal, but the cringiest part to me was Sam Seaborn trying to be a Homie 😂
Can you imagine if this is todays Democrat party.
Fiction hurts deep.
Remember when liberals had to put Christianity into their shows?
Now it’s all open mocking and fat stuff
Love the West Wing, seriously dislike 'the jackal'...
