  • Finally at long last I'm able to do another one. It's been nearly 4 months since the last race making this now the longest I've gone between installments. I've had a full lineup ready for over a month actually now at this point. But I decided to take the time to slightly rework the gears on all my cars so that they hover at their peak power RPM with zero wind effect. In the past I just kept reloading the track in time attack mode again & again until I got some favorable wind conditions where I could get a strong tailwind down the straightaways for more speed. But because wind conditions will obviously change every time you load up the track, this method is too inconsistent & time consuming to even be worth it anymore. Although all my cars are now slightly slower without the tailwind pushing them along, doing gear testing with no wind is much faster & much more consistent. I started this back just before the end of February and am still currently going. Obviously it takes a while to recalibrate the gear setups for nearly 400 cars. I've been working on them close to everyday, with only a day off here & there so I don't bore myself to death doing this soo much. Most recently being just a couple days ago for the solar eclipse since I live nearly directly in the path of totality. I just have 12 cars left at this point though, I should finally be all done with this by tomorrow. But for now, episode 42 of the half-hour speed war series is here along with the first one for 2024 finally.
Quite a few updates have hit since the last race so there's quite a number of new cars here such as the Suzuki Jimny, Genesis X Gran Berlinetta VGT, BVLGARI Aluminium VGT, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX MR GSR, Audi TTS '09, Audi R8 Coupe V10 '16, and easily the best of them all, the legendary 1999 Toyota GT-ONE Race Car. One of the most famous cars in the entire GT franchise as well as one of the OG speed kings from it’s debut in GT2 up through GT5. It’s a shame it’s now so slow on GT7 compared to it’s glory days. Another new addition to my garage since my last race, although not new to the game itself is the Gr.4 Audi TT Cup Car. Which I used in the second to last race in my now concluded 30-minute torrential rain race series. Many more cars have had engine swaps as they were added through the recent updates. The most recent content update being an all Mitsubishi themed update as the Evo III, IV, V, and IX road cars all have the new Lancer Gr.B engine swap. That pretty much makes up the lineup for this race but I have close to another full lineup waiting for the next race with yet still more engine swapped cars, and cars with major livery updates over the last few months as I reworked all the gear setups slightly. Including the Radical SR3 SL which I formerly had the Toyota GT-ONE livery on, until the actual Le Mans car was finally added. I'm close enough to another 20-car lineup that I should be able to get the next episode out once the next content update hits, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
