You have created such a wonderful community of sewists on your Channel and who willingly share information on new pattern companies, fabric sources, as well as critiques of patterns they have sewn. I felt your top 10 plus 6 knit dress sewing patterns was very timely and much needed. The dress trend here to stay! Thank you for your fabric suggestions/recommendations as pairings with each pattern. This helps both the novice sewist as well as the seasoned ones (you would not believe what was available to us just 25 years ago in the way of knits.). Great topic, Whitney!

I loved all the dresses & each one looked fantastic on you. It was a good day here. I actually got back in my sewing room & worked on tweaking a pattern. I was able to ditch the cane yesterday in therapy. Just did couple of things but it felt good to be able to do them.

Great choices! Long sleeve t-shirt dresses are going to be my fall wardrobe.

I wondered if you would feature the Whitney dress from AK Patterns but I suppose as it’s not available anymore that’s why you probably didn’t include it. I really liked the scallop edge to it. Thanks for another great video. Diana
She actually had a couple of knit dresses that I would have definitely included (including the Whitney) if they were still available. I’m sad she closed up!
Whitney you should also check out Sinclair Patterns they have some gorgeous knit dress patterns including the 'Skater' dress that your daughter may also like, and the pattern is FREE

Like you, I think I need to pop out a few knit dresses very quickly going into fall. Loved the video. Two pattern lines to look at that I’ve found do an excellent job w drafting that have great knit dress patterns are Designer Stitch and Wardrobe By Me. Have a great weekend, Marji

The era you're talking about is the Regency era. A really elegant look. I used to make my nightgowns like that all of the time, but since I now have an apple shape, I don't like the look on me anymore. I do really like the nightgown pattern you showed and especially with the built in bra. I don't get to go outside much, due to my Lupus, but it would be nice to wear for a day dress at home. Very relaxed, but could answer the door feeling dressed. I liked all of the patterns you showed and I can't wait to see how you interpret them for Fall/Winter. I am getting excited for Fall clothes now myself and you are helping me pick out some great patterns to try! Thank you so much. Take Good Care
You should definitely try the nightgown pattern. I feel comfortable enough in mine to be around family members when we travel. It’s a good one!
Great choices! I like the Cashmerette wrap dress. I have also started to see Pattern Emporium patterns, and will have to check them out too. I am glad you are finding stylish garments in the midst of handling autoimmune issues. I hope you are able to find some relief soon.

If you do want to wear any belts, try the grip6 belts. Completely adjustable, very flat front so you can wear under the top garment if desired.

Thank-you for this. I am wearing dresses more nowadays and they are very comfortable. I love Pattern Emporium patterns. You can mash them so easily to increase the range of your wardrobe. My favourite tee is their Keep It Simple Babe tee.

Love this! Blank slate patterns has a knit dress called Catalina, it's lovely! It has cap sleeves, does have an elastic empire waist and pockets!

What’s funny is that Love notions has lovely patterns but all of their patterns look really boxy, but when you see them in person they have much more shape to them!

Hi Witney, just wondered if you had to wait and wait to get into each page of Spoonflowers site? Every time I've visited that site everything is so slow that I get impatient and leave the site. I even contacted them and they said it must be my tablets problem. I never have any problem on any other site, so just wondering. Please let me know if you have time! Thank-you, Linda
I didn’t have an issue with the pages loading. It could be the tablet or the internet connection, possibly. That sounds super frustrating. I have no patience for that, either!

How do you keep your knit dresses from sticking to tights in winter? It's super dry here, and static cling is kind of a nightmare. I use static guard but wondering if you have any tricks!
I have issues with static as well. I usually just rub dryer sheets on my legs/tights and that helps a bit. I’ll ask if anyone else has any tricks!
Whitney .... just passing this along for some thought ... I also have issues with bloating and allergy problems and generally "feeling bad" from time to time ... I've noticed that when I eat too many carbs these issues flare up ... I did a test on myself where I didn't eat carbs (I did eat nonstarchy vegetables) and felt so much better ... I do know these symptoms can be from other things but just putting this out there... hope you find the cause and get to feeling much better !
I completely agree! For me, it’s gluten, in particular, that makes the biggest issue (potatoes and rice don’t seem to bother me).
I get the maternity/Bridgerton vibe...I have one of those dresses that's getting a lot of wear
A sew-along of this kind of Empire waist might be educational
In Bridgerton, the "waist" seam is often too high on Penelope cutting across her breasts
It took me quite a while before I realized that even in comfy knits, I had to be aware of big busts and too high waist seams that make the garment less comfy
You are so right! That bust seam hitting in the right spot makes ALL the difference!

Thanks for this video. I am also looking at adding knit dresses to my fall wardrobe. I love being able yo through on a single article of clothing and being "dressed". Thanks so much for doing this. I have a question though. I had my colors done ages ago (I LOVE having the direction AND feeling good in my makes) but gray and black are nowhere in my palate. So finding tights for fall through spring has been rough. Where do you find nice tights in a good color selection?
I bought my last bunch of tights off of Amazon and they wore great! I was able to find dark brown and navy for my wardrobe!
Great looking patterns! I have limited experience sewing with knits but want to learn. Do you find the knit fabric sticks to tights? I was wondering if it would need lining or a slip? Thanks for another great video! 😊
It will definitely stick to tights. I usually just rub some dryer sheets on my legs to help alleviate that, but a slip would definitely work!

Loose knit dresses are the best!
Do you know any pattern makers who draft for petites? Normal sizing too big in the shoulders and waist back.

Yes, Sinclair patterns. They have a free knit dress pattern, Valley Skater. That’s a great way to see if you like their petite drafting.
I second Sinclair patterns. She doesn’t just make things shorter, but actually makes the petite sizes, petite. It’s fabulous!
