  • Hi everyone,
    I made this Thule Wingbar installation video to help you fit and remove a Thule Wingbar.
    It demonstrates a fixed point fitting
    In this video I am fitting to a 2009 e92 BMW so ensure you check the Thule website here to make sure you put your vehicle details in and get the right foot pack and fitting kit.

    Here is a link to some Thule Wingbar options -

    The footpack I used was the Thule rapid system 753 -

    The fitting fit is the 183039 -

    Paul you are a saviour, the manual for the wingbar is next to useless but your video guided me through step by step. Thanks for putting it together 👍🏻

    Great video man. I just got the Evo wingbar and I'm waiting on the mounting kit for my Mercedes. The instructions aren't very good and you would think Thule would have their own videos(but they don't). After this investment I'm really thinking I need to go ahead and get the locks. Very clear on every step.

      @@paulstaines9205 Yah, no doubt. One thing about the kit they sent me. The screw that goes into the roof has an end to it so I have to thread it through the mounting bracket. It's very hard to find the thread on the car.

      @@wlouisharris I had one end right and the other end loose, then you could put the bolts into the car first and and locate the mounts over the bolts. Fixed end first then the loose end.

    Thanks for the video, for clarity does the thinner side of the roof bar face towards the front or back?

    What holds the wingbar in place? I've got that plastic "measuretape" on one side and the rubber und the other side. Is that all to keep the wingbar secure and safe?
    I'm concered it could move left/right.

    • @paulstaines9205
      @paulstaines9205  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s around the 5 min mark on the video. The two Allen key bolts tighten to stop it moving left or right. It doesn’t go anywhere.

    Great video. Has anyone ever tried mounting the podiums backwards? The wingbar I got is too long and that is the only way I will be able to fit it.

    No tap in screw in the kit I was sent....
    Got to say, about to fit these and having watched your video, the rubber feet seem to leave gaps. Expected a little better from Thule..
    Great video though. Cheers.

    • @paulstaines9205
      @paulstaines9205  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would have to speak to them about the tapping screw. Should still go in ok I would guess. The rubber feet don’t really need to fit down snug as they just stop direct weathering, you can see from the end of my video they follow the profile of the body work but don’t actually pres ms down on it.

      @@McStoolio yeh I would say so. Just spray a bit of WD40 in and screw it in and if it feels tight, unscrew it and then screw it down again. It will free up any gunk in the thread.
