USA Road trip 2023 - Part 1 Disneyland
This is part 1 of our amazing USA road trip in 2023.
We went on a 24 day road trip starting in Los Angeles and then up the west coast to San Francisco, across to Yosemite national park and then down under Sequoia national park to Death Valley and finally ending in Las Vegas!
This part 1 video is just the first 3 days mainly showing the 2 days we spent in Disneyland Anaheim.

Laying Indian stone paving - patching into existing paving.
มุมมอง 1.2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Welcome to my channel and thanks for watching my video! I did this video to try to help anyone who is looking to lay indian stone paving and/or extend or patch into an existing patio or paving. The video is in timelapse and explains each stage. The only stage that isn't shown is the brush in jointing that I haven't yet completed, which I will do another video on. You need at least 1-inch space ...

Thule Wingbar fitting and removal demonstration.
มุมมอง 105K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Hi everyone, I made this Thule Wingbar installation video to help you fit and remove a Thule Wingbar. It demonstrates a fixed point fitting In this video I am fitting to a 2009 e92 BMW so ensure you check the Thule website here to make sure you put your vehicle details in and get the right foot pack and fitting kit. www.thule.com/en-gb/buyers-guide?c=roof racks&q=AiGQgbftF Here is a link to som...
Thule free ride 532 bike rack assembly instructions - including mounting to roof rack
มุมมอง 107K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This is an instructional assembly video for the Thule free ride 532 bike rack including mounting to a Thule wingbar. It is an out of the box tutorial explaining what comes with the kit and how to assemble it and then fit the bike rack to the Thule wingbar roof rack. I also fit 2 bikes to the roof using 2 x bike racks to demonstrate how 3 bikes can be comfortably carried on the roof rack using t...
great job mate
Thank you very much!
You're welcome!
Thanks for the video! Did you tried them also in highway? Is there some limitation for highways? Thanks 😊
They were fine on the highway for me, no issues.
Will this fit 2018 Subaru outback factory crossbars?
I would imagine so, not 100% but at the 6 min mark of the video it shows 3 different fitting options so I would imagine one of those methods would work.
It’s a bit of a faff! The videos make it look so simple. Thanks for the vid
No problem 👍
We use a VW T5 in our company. Great trunk.
Thanks Paul - very clear instructions, helped to sanity check my installation. Cheers!
@@marcinbarszczewski3968 you’re welcome.
@@paulstaines9205I can't fit the locks to save my life
Have you got the key in?
@@paulstaines9205 yes I have.
@@thomasamos4055 I obviously struggled with one hand as I had to put the camera down! Assume it just took some twiddling and fiddling! Sorry I can’t be any more help.

Thanks! Not all Swedish companies have good instructions. Without your video, I probably wouldn't have finished the assembly. ;)
You are welcome!
Thank you for your help with this.

Will this fit my sons 24" bike?
Yes 100%
I have the Wingbar Evo. The rubber parts on the top has 2 different rubbers (not a only a single one like in the video), so I guess I don't have to remove it before inserting the T shaped screws. What do you think?
Hi, I think the rubbers are just there for aesthetics and can be cut to fill the space between your bike racks. To be honest I tend to leave them off but if you are always using the same bike rack arrangement you cut cut them and put them in after everything is up. Hope that helps.
very helpful thanks
Nice job, the only thing I found when laying Indian stone is to SBR slurry the back of the stone....makes for a really good strong bond.
Yeh and make sure you get the jointing gear in soon as as the rain washes it out underneath!
This is an amazing bike rack
I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...
Great video. Has anyone ever tried mounting the podiums backwards? The wingbar I got is too long and that is the only way I will be able to fit it.
What do you mean by podiums? The brackets that attach to the car?
@@paulstaines9205 The podiums, so they would look convex. I think I would have to put the brackets on backwards also. Thanks!
What holds the wingbar in place? I've got that plastic "measuretape" on one side and the rubber und the other side. Is that all to keep the wingbar secure and safe? I'm concered it could move left/right.
It’s around the 5 min mark on the video. The two Allen key bolts tighten to stop it moving left or right. It doesn’t go anywhere.
Thanks for this great video, just got this delivered today, fitted my Evo Wing Bars to my car last week, couldn't figure out how to fit these onto my bars, now your video has helped a lot. Thank you.
Thanks, Glad to help!
Do you think you could get 4 on the roof? The video is very clear, thinking of getting 4 for my Octavia. Thanks
Possibly depending on the size of the bikes (weight on top of the car) and the pedals need space next to each other?
Please, tell me, while driving without the bikes on the roof, how do you stabilize the 2 arms of the rack? I mean, I can imagine they vibrate, move and hit the rack when the road is not so flat... Do they have something to tie them down?
From my experience they don’t vibrate or bang around but the majority of longer drives would have the bikes on the roof and then back home again.
@@paulstaines9205 thank you. I've just installed a pair on my car.
Received this product with no instructions. I do not like the metal component to adjust it as it can easily scratch the mounting bars. If you have black bars know that it will likely scratch some areas as you install it. I guess the silver option which isn’t painted doesn’t get affected that much.
Yeh I can understand what you mean. The silver bars do not really get affected.
Very well done the video tutorial for mounting this bike carrier!…thank you!

Thank you for sharing this video. You helped me to trust the assembly instructions....

Hey! I've got a significant noise since 45kph in wig bar edge on g30. Is it similar in your config?
No. Have you got exactly the same model? Is everything secure and tight?
@@paulstaines9205 I have wing bar edge. I went to a local dealership and found that everything is properly mounted. Conclusion was - in some models it is just louder. I was anxious to do something more and I wrapped a spiral made of paradors around front bar and the issue was solved. The noise substantially less pronounced.
@@booleana1981 what are paradors? Maybe it’s something to do with the car?
@@paulstaines9205 No, its just autodictionary. I have wound a paracord line around 5mm in diameter in a spiral pattern on a front bar. And it works! :)
@@booleana1981 interesting?
Cheers. What size roof bars did you use?
Think they are 135cm length but not 100% on that. Just check the most suitable for your car.
Many thanks for your video! I got frustrated looking at the Thule (Volvo) instruction guide that reminds me of Ikea and decided to search if TH-cam had a wizard who made a video assembly guide. You saved me from hours of headaches haha!
You’re welcome! 👍🏻
Thanks a lot! Watching your video made me realize two mistakes and one missing part :D

Thanks.
Great video man. I just got the Evo wingbar and I'm waiting on the mounting kit for my Mercedes. The instructions aren't very good and you would think Thule would have their own videos(but they don't). After this investment I'm really thinking I need to go ahead and get the locks. Very clear on every step.
Thanks. Yeh I would say yes to the locks. Depends where you live!😂
@@paulstaines9205 Yah, no doubt. One thing about the kit they sent me. The screw that goes into the roof has an end to it so I have to thread it through the mounting bracket. It's very hard to find the thread on the car.
@@wlouisharris mine came with a tapping screw to use before. That cuts the thread in for you.
@@paulstaines9205 I had to attach the mounting kit first. It was impossible to find the thread hole. I'll have to see if I can attach the rails with the mounting kit attached first.
@@wlouisharris I had one end right and the other end loose, then you could put the bolts into the car first and and locate the mounts over the bolts. Fixed end first then the loose end.
Brilliant Paul easy to follow
Thanks. Glad I could help!

My up right bar won't reach the down tube on my 29er. Might have to send it back
Mine just reached on my 29 inch. Fix your clamp through the highest points and adjust your wheel seats to move the bike further forward.
Look at 4:12 on the video of how the fix the bolt and then if you look at the end when the bikes are on, my orange one is sitting further forward than my Son’s bike which allowed to clamp the very bottom of the frame.
Should the thick part of the bar face forwards and the thin face rear of car on the wingbars
Yes mate 👍🏻
Thule is a rubbish stuff..so complicated... its not worth the money
Grazie!
Prego! For the video and the Euro championships!
Thank you for an informative video. I thought Thule were a top-end supplier of roof racks and cycle racks. But their instruction booklets are appallingly bad - and will leave a lot of people very frustrated. I should write and complain!
Glad it helped! 👍🏻
A really thorough explanation - thanks for sharing.

For anybody watching who has a Ford Mondeo with the Genuine Ford Mondeo Mk5 Roof Rack Carrier Crossbars (Model: 1809110), they appear to be Wingbar style, so you can use the wingbar attachments for the FreeRide which is more secure and awesome!
I have a MK3 focus with genuine ford roof bars, they have a groove for the T bolts but the instructions don't actually mention they can be used like this, I'm guessing they can 🤞
Thanks a bunch Paul. This video saved me a lot of time 🙏😊
