This worked out for me too. You definitely need to be methodical and not go bulldozing into the fight. For me, the most challenging fights after 30 hours has been the final crossed wands duel and the camp Miranda was at at the end of this video and it was due to the inexperience. Although when finding Tobbs for Deek certainly made me lose my cool for a solid five minutes in that big fight.
Yep, once you realise you have 2 defensive actions with no cooldowns; whilst your main spells have cooldowns it gets 10x easier. Defense first and knock em down one at a time. Once you get used to it its an amazingly fun and rewarding combat system!
I love merlin being a slytherin. It backs up what i always say about me being a slytherin. People always say "why are you proud of being in the evil house?" Not all slythrrins are evil. The quote from is "there's not a witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in slytherin" NOT " There's not a witch or wizard in slytherin who didn't go bad"
The sequel REALLY needs a morality system where every action has a consequence. The Library scene would have been a great place for such a scenario. Do we let Sebastian take the blame thereby saving ourselves but Sebastian is in trouble and get's detention/a loss of points...or maybe even a more 'painful' punishment (this is the 1800's after all). In return we owe him and he can ask us to complete a favour for him later on. (Which would be even more important if you're also playing as a Slytherin) Or Do we step in and take the blame and get punished ourselves. Thereby avoiding the favour and lessening Sebastians punishment but also getting punished ourselves. (and get an extra detention mission instead of Sebastian's favour mission) It really would make this a far more immersive playthrough with real consequences. Something which Mass effect and Life is strange did really well when you had to decide between who to save and who would die. It's these difficult to make choices in games which can make a game go from good to legendary. (and really increases replay ability as well which is VERY important)
I’m extremely jealous of how quickly you solved that last Merlin trial. It took me over four minutes to find the balls outside the camp. Sometimes I question my house because despite being a Hufflepuff, I’m not a particularly good finder. 😅
When your character says something like "I should investigate" or "This could be dangerous", check your minimap, it means there's a cave nearby or something.
Man, I can't believe that we got a game like this in 2023. You can always find things to nitpick but damn it's a solid foundation with super immersive ambiance from environments, soundtrack, gameplay, charaters and story.
I recommend focusing on the main story till the point you unlock the broom and you get the side quest that rewards you with Alohomora. The map truly opens up. Great gameplay!
I just found out today that after 20 hours of exploring and going about the game at my own pace all week and this weekend, I've officially crossed "The First Chapter" and keep unlocking new mechanics. This game is wild.
The hut you found at around 55:00 was clearly Hagrid's hut, and the guide mentioning that the owner can turn furniture as large as they need to is a big hint to that
I look forward to seeing her reaction the moment she realizes she can change appearance at will without changing the gear. I can't believe how many youtubers do not know this.
It's one of those things the game doesn't hold your hand with, you have to see the "press square to change appearance" on your own. I guess the devs will have to patch that soon.
what I've noticed is that most TH-camrs don't really pay attention to onscreen instructions that spell out what they need to do and they get hung up on simple obstacles for long periods of time, or don't learn how to handle simple in-game systems like the appearance change
46:39 The final crossed wands round doesn't even need to be played. You can wait until you have the Herbology III trait late in the game, cast an Edurus and Thunderbrew spell, and unleash 6 cabbages to EASILY win the last round within seconds, having not even cast a single spell towards an enemy if you want.
Really enjoying the play through. I paused in my play through and needed a refresher to remember what happened. You express all the same feelings I've experienced with this game.
i love the solemn choir that plays in this episode while you're in the dungeon area. it's especially, idk, resonant? while wandering hogwarts at night, which i'm sure by now you've come across at least once. it's just a slightly breathtaking combination, the choir in the abandoned castle halls
Regarding full gear slots, players are generally recommended to complete the Merlin trials, although the game doesn't tell you outright what rewards you get when completing sets of them. I however recommend putting on all the pieces (all 6 kinds) you have, transmogrify them into a look you prefer holding onto (student, adventurer or elegant), hiding your glasses too, and then selling everything. You can easily complete two main quests or exploring without filling up your slots. The reason for this is that the combat is getting more complicated so you need the defense and attack buffs. So you want the best gear on you at all time for the first half of the game. Before you get a certain upgrade in the Room of Reguirement you won't be adapting your gear to a specific playstyle (increasing stats against certain creatures or Dark wizards), which seems to be the only reason to have more than one set of gear. Apparently there is also a system that determines what level gear you loot. Easier to explain with an example: imagine of your 6 items some are level 11 but one is as low as level 7; new loot will be between level 7 and 12 (one higher than current), meaning that a lot of gear will be useless. So here's a reason to put on the highest level gear (which does not always have the best stats). And another reason to buy gear from Gladrags to improve the higher loot probabilities.

Hi, The tasks you do around Hogwarts I think are getting you ready for the wider world outside Hogwarts and its grounds.. Keep up the good walkthrough, I love it.
I am really enjoying your playthru (your enthusiasm cannot be beat!) and agree that a lot of it is simply amazing. I could spend days just wandering thru the castle examining each and every painting. But there are also quite a few immersion-breaking things that are driving me crazy like the random stealing. There had to have been a better way to do that.

Hello there, it is good to see you again. I am an avid fan of the wizarding world and I am absolutely in love with everything that this game has to offer in terms of combat, progression and exploration. I would like to see lengthier videos as to check how many side missions and colectibles you can gather before finishing a sesion of gameplay, there is a lot to do and it is easy to let a few things slide here and there, I am confident you will master every aspect of this game as you have done so far with all of the other games I have seen you play. Also, you guessed it, I might drop in every now and again to drop some quick tips, if that is okay of course. Time to spit some facts: - Wand combat is enthraling and you may get lost during a particular encounter, trying to juggle when to cast, dodge and protect, but you are doing great so far. Quick side note, it is not reliable to spam your charms straight away without letting yourself breathe, i think that going from a charm or incantation to a protegio may delay your reaction a bit. Try to space out the casting of your charms with a basic attack so you can leave space for better strategies and bigger combos. - Completing side content and colecting items around the grounds and other areas can be beneficial beyond gathering resources and experience, by completing trials and other tasks you can unlock a bigger sorting space for your regalia and provide aditional spell slots for yourself, that way you will not have to keep stopping yourself to switch between your different charms and spells all the time and you will have plenty more space in your inventory to store clothes and other interesting items you may find in the world. Keep checking your milestones in the field guide and make sure to reap the rewards whenever they are presented to you. Good luck and keep being amazing.
Yes, put me down as an "Aye!!" I must have missed the Combo tip in the game, but had wondered why sometimes I did what I thought was random extra damage! Thanks SO much for showing that to me. You would make an amazing Witch in a Harry Potter Universe book. :)
I do not know if you have figured this out yet, too, or not, but you do not need to use Accio on the moonstones. You can break it using a Basic Cast, and you will still collect it automatically.
I am not a big Harry Potter fan, having thought the movies were okay and never got past the first book. However, this game was so magical, so delightful, that I feel emotional watching you play through parts of it. It sits in my short list of "favorites" on my steam page. I cannot wait until we get a sequel and hope they only improve on the magic this game already delivered so well.
I just love this game. Aside from the first one when you get assigned Sebastian, I always do the duelling by myself to help me practice for combat in the main quest when I’m by myself. Protego was key to winning them and not using many/any health potions 😅
NGL i get frustrated because I'm a back seat gamer and her parry timing and combat sense is like... not there. lol. But i haven't found another playthrough of someone who stops and enjoys every little detail and I'm loving it! Keep up the good work, Mirandalorian :P
Combat is so freakin' cool! For the first time ever I get to see how badass wizard fights are! In the movies they just use expelliarmus and avada kedavra and all we get are beaming lights and actors making angry faces. The only cool fights were when Molly blasted Bellatrix and the Dumbledore/Voldy fight at the Ministry. The complexity of every single spell here is just so satisfying!
You have made me wish so much to have a way to play this, it looks amazing!! I love how much you're exploring it's so cool to see all the fun secrets and stuff! 🥺
I’ve absolutely loved you play through so far! The only suggestion I have is get a broom asap ( if you haven’t already 😉) you are going to need it. Also, it is my understanding that Merlin’s trial reward is additional inventory space.
Be sure to do the Merlin trials whenever you find them. There is a challenge reward that increases your capacity for carrying loot items. 1:25 the little blue motes that drop on the ground as you fight are little globs of ancient magic. They fill your AM bars, and heal you a bit.
About time (J/K lol). I love watching your playthroughs because of your genuine reactions to the lore. I'm a little ahead of you in the story and can't wait for you to see what's to come.
I love your playthroughs go ahead and do whatever you want btw I hope you noticed the last name of that witch in the penseive sounds a lot like the name of a pretty famous witch from Arthurian lore Morgana Pendragon
I love that you enjoy exploring I would suggest when the side quest for the lock doors appears focuse on completing the entire guest just so there's no more locked doors to stop you from discovering chest also the invisible spell is what opens the chest that jumps when your next to it
My theory about the protagonist is that they’re half-blood but never showed any magical ability and grew up believing they were squib until their fifteenth birthday and could suddenly start performing magic.
Girl! I am sooo glad I found your videos. I love watching you experience HL! I can’t stop thinking about it either. I think I played for 15 hours yesterday! 😂 Loving your content! ❤
Love all your expressions and reactions I was the same watching hollow play it Cherry Wallis and the potter collector play it too I'll still be the same when or if I ever get to play it myself I'm a huge HP obsessed really
I’ve really been enjoying your series! New to your channel ❤️ did you know that you can change the appearance of each of the clothing items that you’re wearing? Go to the gear menu hover over the item and press the Square button if you’re on PS five then a whole bunch of different luxe will come up that you found so far and you’ll be able to select one of those as your appearance and game. Then you can wear that purple coat all the time if you want to and still have the strongest gear underneath it. Have fun 😊😊
Says she practiced using Parry, proceeds to not use parry.... lol never change Miranda :) So glad to see you enjoying this, the game was an insane amount of fun, I might do a second run right away.
You can change the appearance of any clothes, so u can have good stats and look good. Hover over what u have equipped and you’ll see the option (square) to change appearances. You can even put hoods on from most robes with triangle
Watching you play this game with such joy and revelry… It really adds an extra layer of fun to these videos. I just have a small request! Your circle that shows your reaction covers some of the instructions sometimes… Possible to move it up or to the right? I know that you will be blocking some things wherever you put it, but it’s more fun to know what you know (especially when you’re completely ignoring tasks and just roaming for fun!)

1:09:04 Noea was the best, threatened a kid, and she'd fight ashwinders. Bless her she didn't even know us. Such a mama bear.
Time to spit some facts:
- Wand combat is enthraling and you may get lost during a particular encounter, trying to juggle when to cast, dodge and protect, but you are doing great so far.
40:39 😂 just gold lol
Poor guy 😂
"Yk, I've only fell through thefloor once..."
Omg I love your channel this had me dying
I just finished part 3 ! I love your way of playing and exploring, thank you thank you ++
I am loving your play through of this game. Every time I see it pop up I automatically go on break and watch it haha.
Yes, put me down as an "Aye!!" I must have missed the Combo tip in the game, but had wondered why sometimes I did what I thought was random extra damage! Thanks SO much for showing that to me. You would make an amazing Witch in a Harry Potter Universe book. :)
LOL "Shut up Peeves". I love watching you do this playthrough!
I do not know if you have figured this out yet, too, or not, but you do not need to use Accio on the moonstones. You can break it using a Basic Cast, and you will still collect it automatically.
this game is so good. it just gets more crazy good as you go. the level of detail, locations, wonder, etc in this game is insalne
This is amazing! My wife and I started playing this a couple days ago and we're loving it! :D
Keep up the good work, Mirandalorian :P
have to fix my statement after watching the crossed wands duel xD parrying was on point in that last effort for the most part
Best game ever. This game gets so much more fun . I'm so obsessed already and I don't even have it yet.
I love watching you play this awesome game, the game itself just looks absolutely stunning, here's to more of your wizarding adventures
Keeps dying. "I just need to protect myself." Well....duh. lol Great video!
You have made me wish so much to have a way to play this, it looks amazing!! I love how much you're exploring it's so cool to see all the fun secrets and stuff! 🥺
Lucan Brattleby: “Wonder how my plants are doing, I haven’t tended them in ages.”
Me: “Yup, they’re dead.”😑
Love this playthrough! I know what to look for on my next playthrough
Honestly, of all the playthrough of this game, I enjoy yours a lot. Because you do truly explore and do side quest and really love this universe. 😊
I’m obsessed with this game at the moment when I’m not playing it I’m watching this play through
So... I finished the game a couple hours ago. I'm about to start another playthrough. That's how much I enjoyed it.
Who else is curious to play this at least four times to see how playing in each school House goes?
Natti's voice makes me think of Black Panther. With that in mind, I bet Uagadu's uniforms look amazing! :D
I love watching you play you have a great attitude and commentary style. Cant wait for next vid!
I love your playthroughs go ahead and do whatever you want btw I hope you noticed the last name of that witch in the penseive sounds a lot like the name of a pretty famous witch from Arthurian lore Morgana Pendragon
Lmfao !!!!! Sure can you speak up .. the grass is thick this side of the black lake 🤣
Me: How dare you set fire to - whoever this is!
Miranda: I love her - whoever she is!
Me: 🤣 Same!
I love that you enjoy exploring I would suggest when the side quest for the lock doors appears focuse on completing the entire guest just so there's no more locked doors to stop you from discovering chest also the invisible spell is what opens the chest that jumps when your next to it
I have been enjoying these videos SO much for so many reasons but the SpongeBob cut scene absolutely took me out 😂😂😂
Miranda’s reaction at 1:11:34 was adorable.
Have fun 😊😊
For anyone wondering you need to use the depulso spell and sim it at the trigger and then the wall will open 42:18
"Is like when Hagrid and Harry were skipping rocks on the lake"
It never happened but I love the imagery!
Loving these playthroughs! 😂
I have to wait till July, for it to come out on the switch .. so thank you for these!!
Says she practiced using Parry, proceeds to not use parry.... lol never change Miranda :)
So glad to see you enjoying this, the game was an insane amount of fun, I might do a second run right away.
I've seen the whole game .You will have alot of puzzles .And alot of mind blowing moments .
MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL ,KEEP YOUR INVENTORY CLEAR .
Thanks so much for the random giggity. That made my day.❤
You can change the appearance of any clothes, so u can have good stats and look good. Hover over what u have equipped and you’ll see the option (square) to change appearances. You can even put hoods on from most robes with triangle
My number one TH-camr Miranda! Great vibes heading your way! Always have a great Sunday 💛
At the barbers shop she was saying her hairstyle is like Belle and at 1:05:14 she looks completely like Belle
Omg risky is so enjoying watching you play this game❤ thank you so much
I feel the same. When I’m not playing, I think about what I plan to do when I play again.
Merlin Trials = More Gear Slots
But you MUST claim them in the menu
"One set of balls." Giggity. I'm behind the time but she said it. Lol.
This last cross wands challenge took me forever!!!! I could not figure out the target lock, I found it easier to just aim normally lol it’s easier when they are outlined for me 🤣
