    Most of us take notes in some way or another - on a piece of paper, in a notebook, or with some app. But are your notes always readily available when you need them? And more importantly, can you easily find a specific note you're looking for?
    I tried a lot of note-taking systems in the past and I can't tell you how many great ideas were lost over the years because I just couldn't find the piece of paper anymore, I scribbled some notes on. It wasn't until I found a way to use Microsoft OneNote effectively that it changed for the better. Many people don't know that OneNote is much more than just a digital notebook.
    In this OneNote tutorial, I explore how you can take full advantage of OneNote, and share my 5 personal OneNote tips and tricks on how you can become more organized.
    00:00 Why Use OneNote
    01:46 Use Hierarchies to Get Organized

      Suppage Level 2 is not possible. Is this only possible on the Windows Version? Only subpage level 1 is possible for me
      What can you do when your Project would need Suppage until Level 3 oder Level 4.
      Is there a possibility ?

    I"ve never really given OneNote any thought until I purchased a Surface Go last year. It has now become my go-to note-taking app. One important feature I love is the ability to record audio while taking notes (i.e. during meetings) and then jumping to specific segments of the recording based on what I typed or written when I review these notes. Anyhow, great tutorial and great channel. Already subscribed.

    Thanks for the tips. I've used OneNote for years & wouldn't be without it now. One thing I would say is don't build too complex a hierarchical structure. I found I had several notes that could easily exist in more than one of my hierarchies & it was frustrating trying to decide where to file them. In the end I started creating a new notebook per year (just to keep the number of notes per book manageable), and use the excellent search feature to find what I want.

    One GTD thought is within Tags. I can see where creating an "Agendas" tags for either a person (manager) or a group (team meeting) would work really well.
    As you go through the week, in preparation for a meeting (with a person or a group), you create tags for applicable notes.
    Then, when you have your meeting, you just click on tags and everything comes together.
    This concept could also work for Waiting-For's for a person. You have information in OneNote that you're tracking, and the tag will find everything for the person you're waiting on.

      Yeah, I did that on my own, about a minute after starting the video. I often change the speed. If I'm reading funny text videos, I'll slow it down a little and mute the music. If I'm watching someone do an activity, and want watch but not listen, I will often go to 2X and again mute the sound. Other times people just talk a little too slow, so I raise the speed to 1.25, or even 1.50. I really like being able to adjust the playback speed to suit me. I also like being able to jump forward or back 10 seconds, too.😊 When I was growing up, personal computers were science fiction. Now, I've had several desktop computers with several different operating systems, several different browsers, a laptop, 5 different Tracfones, and now a tablet.😃

    Wonderful tutorial Leila. As you’ve mentioned there are many other features. I use OneNote for many things but the main one is researching. Features I often use are, clip from webpage - can clip the entire page or just the article, since I have tons of information I love referencing either pages, sections, words or paragraphs - easily done by highlighting the sentence or word or page or whatever you want and right clicking then select copy link and then you could insert this link anywhere you wish. Inserting a TH-cam link aromatically embeds the video. Notebooks, sections or pages can be easily shared by creating a pdf of them. One other fantastic feature is that you can share a notebook with other people and all of you could collaborate and populate information there and it updates live for everyone with their name tags attached to the info they’ve added and you could play back history - as in rewind or forward - so you’d be able to backtrack events later to catch-up anything you’ve missed or gotten mixed up with. You’ve got access to your notes anywhere you can find a computer linked to the net. A great feature for students is that they can record voice from a lecture whilst capturing notes, once the recording is done, it inserts that recoding into that page. OneNote is awesome, I can’t function without it!!!

      I don’t know if you meant “Copy Link to Paragraph,” but I use that function a lot to create a hyperlinked Table of Contents for a page. I’ll highlight a section header, “Copy Link to Paragraph”, paste it at the top of the page, copy the Page title, “Copy Link to Paragraph”, click the link to the last link copied, then paste the link to the page title under the section title.
      This allows me to quickly jump back to the top of a page and browse the Table of Contents for that page.
      The other cool thing about these Paragraph Links is you can paste them to multiple places. I don’t do it as much, but if there’s a new term used throughout a section of my notes, I’ll paste a link to a glossary everywhere it appears in that article. Once I’ve read the glossary entry, I just hit “Back” to go back to the original article.

    • @Dizzyish
      @Dizzyish 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@josephcoon5809 we are both on the same point, you’ve just elaborated more on this feature, you could hyperlink just about any content and add that link to wherever you need for easy reference or to quickly get to other parts of your notebook. Thanks for your input.

      @josephcoon5809 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I write. I tried using Scrivener and it was confusing to me, but I found OneNote to be extremely helpful while brainstorming. You can write out limitless ideas and once you decide which way you want to go with the story, you can delete what you don't want. I also found it helpful in creating my character descriptions. Maybe a lot of people use it like this, also. It may be nothing new but I thought I would share. It can be a lot of fun.

      In the OneNote 2016 interface it connects to the Tasking module of Outlook, which I recommend for ultimate productivity. OneNote provides the overview of the project, and is a central location of disparate information; yet Outlook tasks allow you to curate the tasks that you want to focus. You pull them into Outlook via OneNote 2016 by "tagging" them as a task. Then in Outlook, I have a section to the right of my screen that is a mini window of my tasks curated from OneNote and tasks that are embedded in my emails.
