Stihl 028 ignition/ spark fix

We had this saw and it was giving intermittent spark and we replaced the old coil and points with an electronic ignition coil, check out the next video to see what happened... it may surprise you.

Good informative video. The air gap between coil armature and flywheel is .020 inch or twenty thousandths. You're right: about the thickness of a business card.

Just to add an update, my camera quit working. Not sure why i have dislikes but this thing runs like a dream!!! Could not be happier. I let it set for 6 months and it fired over on the third pull!! I have a newer saws at work that wont even do that, hope this helps.

Does the upgraded coil need to be grounded?

No if i remember correctly itis grounded through the mounting bolts.
