To me it looks fine. The seat protects him, even as you tilt over.
Advage us also that he can now look forward and not against a back as on an upright seat.
In a trailer, he sits more alone, so I would leave it as it is.

I would go with a trailer. Nice e-assist system. Not familiar with Golden Motor.

May I make a suggestion; if you stick with the baby seat on the trike - maybe a clear faring in front of the baby seat. It'll help protect your little one and make them more aerodynamic. And along with the faring maybe a roll cage for the baby seat

Cool video! I wish you many fun rides with the little one!
We use a trailer for our kids, but we have thought about adding bike seats to our trikes for shorter rides. Regarding stability I think it's best if you keep your head as the highest point of the whole setup, so I am a bit worried about the height of the seat and the possibility of tipping over when cornering. On the other hand, riding with a child sitting higher does have its benefits as well - he can have a great overview of everything around him and also you can easily talk to each other. You will see over time, please keep us updated 😊

I must admit I’m a bit concerned watching the sway of the seat when you are riding away from the camera. I would recommend a trailer so he has something to grow into as well as the ability to bring other stuff along which lets you ride longer. My girls went from their trailer to a trail a bike to their own bikes. Flipped my mountain bike once while pulling the trailer, I crashed, the trailer didn’t.

I would say add a shield to his helmet to protect his eyes from bugs

I would have you wear a helmet with a mirror on it so you can check him out. easier on you and safer for him. It looks quite safe even better than having it on a diamond bike because trikes are not as easy to tip over. Yes, I know they can tip but not as easily as diamond bicycles. Not familiar with Golden Motor. Could you leave a link to learn more about this system? Have fun and remember always ride safe,.There are a lot of people who carry their dogs on the back of their trikes so your son should be just fine. Do a lot of testing of turns and fast stops. Before going on any tours also get some eye protection for him. A shield for that age, so he cannot pull it off. You will get a lot of road dust, it does come up from the road. he looks protected, and happy. Just remember he is your pride and joy safety first above all. what are the bicycle laws in your area for having kids on the back of a bicycle for their safety? it is noisy out on the road think about ear protection as well and maybe attach a microphone system so he can hear you while you ride and you can hear him if he is having a problem. The microphone can be attached to his seat somehow not sure about this but there must be something out on youtube to do this. have a great day of riding and be safe. The last note would a baby monitor that has a video screen work outside, just a thought.

How does this motor feel compare to the Copenhagen? Is this a cadence sensor motor? What are the specs? I have a Dumont with a Falco torque sensing motor.

I added a hub motor to my wife's Catrike and didn't use the motor-kill brake levers, either. It seems to work fine w/o them. Details of the install here: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1p8hQpt_5RFSkpVbpmCWV2j2tyWxAeW2s?usp=sharing
