I have been using these straps for nearly a decade and they work great and last for a long time.

Tried out a set of Power Grips on my KMX Typhoon, but they made my knees hurt. The angle of my foot on the pedal was too diagonal, I guess. Sold them and took a significant financial loss in the process. They probably work fine for other folks.

Same pain here. Additionally, I need to allow my feet to freely ankle-pivot to both left and right.
That hugely serves to reduce arthritic pain, that HUGELY increases, when NO movement is available!

The problem is the high cost of getting a longer strap when the original ones do not fit.

What's the best pedal is the Kampway Pedals, removed all straps but the rear and is great. Can even barefoot ride or sandles

Too, too hard to use for this handicapped, limited-mobility, arthritic 70yo senior.
Heel cup pedals with all nylon straps removed, far best for me!

I will never ever buy clips pedal/shoes...
You can also use tarp bungee balls tied to pedal and around the heels to keep the foot from falling down...
