Started working for USPS 21 years ago as a PTF clerk. Decided to make a change 16 years ago and became a city carrier. Found out that being a carrier is MUCH more difficult than being a clerk. The first three months were brutal. I had a lot to learn. Everybody struggles at first. Try to stay positive and good luck!
That is awesome! Which do you think you like best? I LOVE doing this job - I just can't wait until I get my own route haha. Did you get your own route, or did you have to be a CCA?
To everyone wanting to be a CCA, I hope you're walking 10 or more miles a day or just take 8 or more hours out of your day and just walk for that period of time straight with only a few breaks in between. Don't forget it's also in the pouring down rain, extreme heat or cold, and any other weather condition you can think of.
Thank you for your postings. I finally got my CCA orientation date (9/17 & 18) and you have been so helpful morally as well very informative. Thanks again!
Hey What’s Up! Thank you so much for all the info! Quick question, after the 90 day period, how much will be the pay? Does it stay the same? Does it Increase? I am in the Los Angeles area. Much Love and stay safe! I will be awaiting your response. Thanks !
So i actually have orientation tomorrow and I am doing my fingerprints same day also. So does that mean that i got the job or I am on track? I am just so nervous I really want the job.
Hi, congratulations! I have a question for you, I sent application 3-4 weeks ago and I did assessment test after 3 days. And I'm waiting for their answer that I passed test or not. But I just got email that was asking me checking my back ground and about ask social security # thru email. So my question is.. why they don't tell me yet about my assessment result before they checking my background? Or checking background means.. I passed assessment test?
Great video, thanks for the information! I have my CCA orientation tomorrow so I was kind of nervous about what to expect, but I feel better after you explained your experience. Thanks again and good luck!
Hi mandi pls tell me how many hours you been working the first 3 months after get hired as cca??I have my orientation in 2 weeks from now but now sure if that job is for me cause I can't work more than 50 hours week
Got the driving record email and the invitation to take fingerprints soon here in Cali. They got back to me in like 1-2 days! Anyway, I've been super nervous about making the jump because I've had cushy desk jobs for so long- but your experience and advice is really helpin out with my anxiety about it. Thank you!
Great Video!!! I’m up for orientation in a couple of weeks. I’m so excited because for one my dad was a carrier for many years and he retired, but he made a great living working for the USPS , I was a casual years ago so I got a feel for what goes on with the job. Thanks again and I’m looking forward to seeing your next video, great work.

Hello mandi..I just applied for CCA .I believe in going through the screening process at the moment ..I was wondering after I make it through that process is there an interview process next? Also if you have a video talking about that process?
Everything seems randomized when it comes to time. I did everything and am waiting for my orientation date and the sf85 check. Been waiting 2 weeks so far. If it hits a month I’m calling
Jose Arriaga did you get a interview? After I applied I got email for motor vehicle check... then a job offer.. then completed GIS background check & drug test and tomorrow I go for fingerprints. I’m wondering when they do interviews. Completely different process from last yr when I applied. I had a interview 1st, then a job offer, unfortunately that position was canceled then.
Tina Ellis never had an interview. When I fingerprinted you talked to a person who fills your I9 form and I think that’s the “interview”. I’m in Chicago by the way
Hang in there - I called the phone number of the HR lady at the bottom of my emails. Sometimes the process takes weeks and even months. I got lucky and wasn't super drawn out.
Hello Mandie Pandie Beauty, I love your videos. I had an interview today. He said watch my email for drug test. I have a question about the finger printing. Are you already hired when the do the fingerprints? I keep hearing people say that they go to orientation and that’s when finger prints get done. But are those prints for another background check?
Felisia Majekodunmi I don’t know why they do finger prints- I’m sure it goes into a government database. I did mine on my Orientation day after we started
@@F.E.francis how do you like the position? I received a conditional offer for PSE. I just completed the background and drug screen. Now I'm waiting on the NACI and fingerprints.

Do you get paid for orientation or going to the academy etc... I'm having trouble balancing a full time job while going thru process to get CCA position. I now have orientation coming up but no start date at home base yet. So very tough for when I want to resign from current job
It saud in my e-mail to come in to do paperwork, fingerprints, take badge pictures. At the bottom of the e-mail in green highlight it it says to give my employer notice and orientation starts April 8th,2019. I didn't really get it because it also said I'd be given further instructions on the 4th of April... which is tomorrow ^-^?! Hrmmm, it will be interesting to say the least.
NIKE SB once you pass your test you can apply for anything your score qualifies you for. I heard (at least in my area) it’s faster to make regular as a CCA, then once you make regular you can change to a different craft as regular. I also heard that after you’re CCA for 1 year you can transfer crafts too, but you lose seniority. Now, don’t quote me, that’s just the way I understand it. 👍🏻👍🏻
I've applied for the CCA position, and I had my interview a week ago. So far my status in the online application hub has gone from application entry to Pre-Hire list to Hiring List to Selection List. I would assume the next step will be whether I'm selected or not. My question though, how long did it take for you to receive the drug & background emails post interview. For me it's been a week, and no emails for either one.
@1Eagle flyy0 Yea, so I applied for several different CCA positions over a month's time. The first one I applied for, took their sweet time. I applied, interviewed, waited out the process, didn't actually end up getting selected. The 2nd one applied to, ironically in the same office, different position, same result, but didn't hear back from them before I heard back from my 3rs interview. The 3rd CCA position I applied for, was in a different Office, and I heard back rather quickly from them, before I even heard back from the first two interviews. Within a week of my interview for the 3rd CCA position, I received a conditional job offer. And received my drug testing & background emails. Then I received my official letter for orientation (begins on June 24, 2 months to the date of the initial application online). Then from there, I received another security check email, along with scheduling of my finger printing, which will be 10 days before my first day of orientation. Overall, a long process, which is expected. I guess it depends on the office & their urgency to hire someone.
@1Eagle flyy0 Yea, exactly. My search started just before Easter, like a week before. The most important thing, is getting my foot in the door and starting a new exciting career. If you haven't got a position yet, I wish you the best of luck, but I think in the long run, it'll all be worth any type of wait we've had to endure.
I got the conditional about 3 weeks ago and did the drug and background checks the same day, and my online profile still shows Ext Offer phase, and like 10 other apps are Hiring list status. Should I contact an HR rep to see what is going on? I applied in January so its been a couple months going through the process.
d123abcd I called the phone number of the HR lady that was sending some of the emails out. She was also at the interview. I would def contact them. I felt like my final step took a long time too, so I contacted her. Then I got the final offer minutes later (not sure if it was a coincidence or not)
