      Same boat here.
      If yours has a ball before the nub, hold that instead, or dip it in less. Also lots of practice.

    I do a lot of writing with glass dip pens, and rotating the pen is something you "should" do. It's the secret to making the pen write longer, though each pen is a little different.
    I really like faux calligraphy. It's really the only way I know to do calligraphy with a glass dip pen, so why not do it?
    I do have one question about liquid watercolor. I'm also an artist, and enjoy watercolor, but have never tried liquid watercolor at all, let alone with a glass dip pen. Anyway, does liquid watercolor ghkost and bleed more or less than fountain pen ink on the same paper?

    I mostly use my glass dip pen for making marks in watercolour, but now I have to try monoline hand lettering! Thanks for this crazy great idea!

    I always feel fancy when I use my glass pens. Even if I’m not doing anything special. I also thought they were expensive until I searched for one.

      Yes, I feel the same! And I was so surprised at the price! Thanks for watching!

    Literally just bought a glass pen today (Barnes and Noble) to give it a try and found your video(s), and had the entire conversation of "Meh, it's $25 and I'll save a few bucks on that, if it's terrible it's not a serious loss," brought it home to give it a try, and it's by far the best calligraphy experience I've ever had, and feels extremely natural using it to write my style of cursive handwriting. First time I've been excited to write calligraphy, ever, I've always had terrible experiences with metal and feather pens.

    The best thing about the glass pens is that they can be used with amazing combinations of the ink

    • @HowtoHandLetter
      @HowtoHandLetter  ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you so much! Have yet to try a glass pen to dip paints in my five years of calligraphy practice the presentation looks fancy 😊

      Of course! It took me a really long time to try one too but I think it’s because I assumed they were super expensive. Thanks for watching!
