Man who fell from Ambassador Bridge says 'I’m OK and I appreciate the prayers'

- Wednesday evening, people were calling the construction worker who fell from the Ambassador Bridge into the Detroit River a "mystery man" saved by heroes.

Don't leave out the little girl and her aunt who witnessed the fall, alerted the boating company staff to the incident and directed them to his location in the water. Without them, Spencer would almost certainly have drowned!
Unbelievable that they weren't even given a cursory mention in this and many other local news reports, or that the fiancé hasn't acknowledged them publicly in any way.
Shame on the station for not mentioning the lady n her daughter who Informed a boat owner!!!
This is unbelievable. Those two should be awarded by the city fir what they did. They saved a man's life.

If it was a white girl she would have been called a hero and granted interview on CNN. But no it's just a little black girl.
So I seen another video from 13 days ago and he states basically the aunt and the daughter is the reason why he made it ( which is true). Then he thanks everyone else and even the nurses. These news channels decided to edit it out. So the video we seen is the same except they didn’t show him talking about the aunt and niece. Blame the news.
They should thank, those people who saw the moment of his fall. Without those people, he could have been gone too. Thank you people for quick action when you saw the fall and thank you for the boat people for quick respond without any hesitation. Good job to both side. God bless your heart.
Now I'd like to see an interview of the two good souls who spotted the man dall and ran for help. I'd like to hear their story and see them awarded for their quick action which set the rescue in motion. They r true heroes 👏 ❤ 🙌❤
No surprise that the real heroes didn’t get recognition. Just imagine if the little girl and little didn’t got to alert the workers to help. They need to be rewarded too.

@@kguillory 😊 don’t jump to conclusions- it could be simple - they mentioned two people was fishing ,maybe that was the reason 🤷🏿♂️ . Are maybe they did a poor job of investigating the situation, but who know. One thing we did hear was the boatman who helped rescue said was the two was the real heroes, brings tears to my eyes ✌🏿😊

I can tell you one thing, someone "isn't" getting a happy ending. No harness, no safety lines, no emergency instant deploy life vest/bouy, and working 150 feet up without said safety gear. Either the company he works for is getting sued for lack of policy and all of the above missing equipment, or dude is getting fired for noncompliance with company policy. At least the good folks on the shore were there with sharp eyes and fast responses and that the boat owners were willing to answer the call.

I would like to honorably mention the girl and the woman that got Spencer help in the first place. They srung into action and are the main reason this young man survived.Thank you for saving Spencer.

The little girl who sprung into action and got the boat guys was left out, but inside edition covered it. I just think it’s special that a little girl saved the daddy of another little girl. Worth including.
Um.... Excuse me! But what happened to the part of the story where the little girl and family member alerted these "saviors" that you're giving ALL the credit too. Don't do that! Without them these generous helpful men wouldn't have even known, he needed to be rescued. Tell the whole story, thanks!

@@DJRenee yeah, I got that. Which as hella rude. As they were instrumental in bringing attention to the fact the man had fallen. Without those two very important people, those men wouldn't have been on the scene fast enough to rescue that fallen man. The news story put ALL the shine on the secondary heroes involved as if the lil girl and family member were just passersby in the story of this man's survival.

oh my he is so handsome and his girlfriend is beautiful ,,that Little girl and lady that seen him fall and called for help and the boat people Yes Yes yes thank God !!! all them beautiful people this is a wonderful story all but the falling hope he recovers %100 and he gets to meet the people that seen him fall and they all go out to dinner together ...He is so handsome beautiful young man ,,,

That’s what they supposed to have on at all times a harness is for people who works in very high places like tall buildings this is a bad decision not to wear it 🤦🏾♂️

I lost a contract once , stupid crew members in unauthorized areas of construction without safety harnesses [roof]..the fines[osha] were more than the contract…btw we were cabinet assembling and installing…NO REASON AT ALL FOR THESE LEWZERS TO BE ON THE ROOF🤦🏾♂️.

Yes safety harness, no reason to wear a life vest. He also had on a tool belt with a quick release buckle just for this exact event. I am a retired Ironworker. Most who fall from greater than 20 feet are killed. He was fortunate in many ways.

@@Vero2yu Ironworkers that work on bridges are called "Bridgemen". They wear tool belts developed by American Bridge Corp. They have QR buckles so the man can get rid of 35-50 pounds of tools if they fall into water. (Most bridges span water)

Another worker fell from that very bridge in 2012. Seems like something is wrong and needs to be addressed and looked into and investigate so they doesn't' keep happening and hold someone accountable.

Thanking the boat company who wouldn’t have even known fast enough maybe not in enough time if it wasn’t for the little girl and older lady . I watched this video hoping to see him meeting them and thanking them and they weren’t even mentioned .

Where is the video of the black woman and child who ran to notify him he fell. Outrageous how they omitted from story. They the ones who saw and quickly notified . Its circulated in a separate video a black woman and child bsnging on captains door of house to get help
Praise God, as He who is the Life Giver allowed this man to live. In fact, all of us who are aive each, is here because of the True and Living, Loving God.
So, whether the Lord had an Angel intervened or some other way, but He alone gets the ultimate credit. ❤ The Lord is to receive the praise and glory for saving this man’s life. Yes, we are grateful for those who saw and helped and rescued this man, they are to be thanked, as they were indeed used by the Lord, but with all they did, if it wasn’t for the Lord who kept him alive, who gave him breath, he wouldn’t be here. I’m so thankful on behalf of the man himself, his fiancé and new baby among other family and friends. He is alive and recovering. Amen.😊

The quick actions of the family who witnessed the fall and then the quick action of the mail boat crew, along with the faller's youth is what saved his life. God, as usual, was nowhere to be found.

Oh my gosh these comments are so annoying. THIS MAN FELL OFF OF A 150 FT BRIDGE. I understand praise the hero’s BUT I THINK most importantly that this video was made to show that how HE is doing. He is amazing for doing this work and enduring this, but still getting up to take care of his baby girl. That family is okay, they are hero’s and everyone knows. But is it bad to care more about this man and how him and his family are doing!?
