Same I was really excited to see this game for grebenikov and shoji as a libero they are my favorites and a role models and I aspire to play like them and maybe even against them someday but yeah I was super excited for this match

It was an exciting game. The errors on the U.S side good god 37 errors is bad even worse like 23 of those were service errors. My predictions have been spot on so far though now I just await their defeat at the hands of Slovenia.

They could’ve had that second set if it weren’t for all the service errors. I understand serving aggressively, but trading 10+ errors for 2-3 aces not worth it IMO.
Strong serves are not just to earn aces. The aim is to set the offense of the opponents off.
Well ‘safe’ serves always lead to the opponent killing it in their first attempt to attack so…
@@joemaryubokmee1767 you are right, but at least with a safe serve, it’s in play and you still have a chance to win the point. You could block it or they could make an error, it’s better than automatically giving them points from your serve.
Honestly it pains me to see the US lose, but I feel like it was a great match and we saw a lot of amazing plays on both sides... and I feel like these new guys for the US roster, for them it's all about getting experience and playing against some of the best... So even tho we loss some matches including this one, I feel like it's gonna help prepare us for the future

Trevor Clevenot is one of the good-looking player yet talented, one of the better receivers in the french team...
I think if the Olympic Games weren't this year, we'd see a lot more "real" lineups from all the teams. Maybe we will see more top players from all the teams in the elimination rounds? This summer's VNL is definitely a great opportunity to get young players some solid experience, but at times it leaves me confused as to how some teams win/lose :P

I realy idolize Chinenyeze he is a monster blocker...
It was such a great game with many great rallies. All in all, USA came out stronger in longer rallies and with very strong serves/attacks, but France was a lot more consistent and made significantly less mistakes ! My old coach used to say : let the opponent make mistakes, and this is pretty much what France did here. Played safer, but less mistakes.

This particular USA lineup had no defence beyond the block. Sure it was like a C team (or a B and a half team) but still. Maintain the system and discipline.

I don’t think losing is actually the key. The key is that the players themselves are not very active in changing their playing styles. They even have problems with cooperation. I think they can imitate the spirit of the Japanese team. I think this time the Japanese volleyball team shows us how good the team is. The enthusiasm of volleyball matches, this is my advice to the American volleyball team. I like playing volleyball and watching volleyball matches very much. Thank you players from all over the world for the games you have brought us. Thank you for your hard work. Come on! This is my own opinion. I hope that the American players will not get angry. I believe you will be better.

What a great match ! I would spot on the 3m attack of the French players... It s very weak. We play a lot outside the 3m and such tall and professional players should have much more power to hit on the 3m line (and I have no idea why they always cross hit ! The block is so simple).

Defalco and Stahl played so well in this match.
Stahl only had 6 kills and 3 blocks in 4 sets. Not to mention his 7 service errors! 7!!! I don't know how anyone could think he played well lol

Both things are safety measures because of the pandemic. Even though it's a "bubble" where nobody leaves and they are tested before every game, they decided not to take any risks. So there is no exchange of courts, no line judge, and they have to dry out the court themselves.

Well, I'm French and appreciate the numerous good young players of French team, but I feel like Poland, Brazil and Russia keeps to be top 3, with lots of other very good teams like Iran. That will be a beautiful Olympics.
And they are! I felt that too after this VNL. Same for us that got that hunch!!

K. Shoji can't set right side at all, it's like he has an aversion to setting it 70% of his sets were to power/pipe, 25% were to the middle, and the rest went to right side and each set that he did was either too short or too far out. Just look at the quality of sets that boyer got compared to the American right side and you can see why France won.
I find top europeans N russia their ball⚾Receivings R Excellent!!! So is japan. Usa Can Aus Not that good in receving balls INORDER TO RECYCLE !!!!

Ngapeth screaming and some times in the match he even punched the net. Guess what? Not even a yellow card. Against Canadá the German player did a very similar attitude and got a red card. Seems like some players are privileged in volleyball.

@@jamesadrianpanganiban880 Oh for sure. I wish he weren't still recovering form surgery. The only reason I'm slightly optimistic is that this US team hung with the France A-team pretty closely. I'm guessing Speraw didn't want to play Anderson, Sander, and Christenson today since we play France again in pool play in the Olympics. Probably didn't want to give France an opportunity to get a feel for our strongest players.

Not really. We have a bunch of injuries and we’re rotating. Of the teams going to Tokyo, we have played our assumed starters the least by far, aside from Italy, who basically brought their u21 team to the tournament.
Defalco is the reason why USA always not into winning... I dont know why...
His numbers are good, I don't know what you mean.
But he is always being the top scorer in the game. In my opinion, he is doing great.
It's because of the other players weakness. Do not blame my baby defalco, he is even the target of the opposing team in serving.
They could've put Anderson/Patch instead of Ensing. I don't know why Speraw let Ensing play too much games.
