How to get the longest vase slice for your hydrangeas

- Hydrangeas LOVE a dip in a Hot Bath … truly. It helps their stems to stay open so they can absorb as much water as possible and stay happily hydrated.
This actually works for lots of different woodier stemmed flowers like Butterfly Bush, Elderflower Branches, Astrantia and yes I’ve heard lots of folks say they give their lilacs a dip on a hot bath as well!
Cut the stems at an angle, then cut them open and dip in a mug of steaming water for 15 seconds.
Transfer to a bucket of fresh cool water and let them get nice and hydrated.
They’ll stay happier for so much longer in your vase.
