Black is going to look beautiful as well - since it's bezeless, it will pop-out more and merge into the black well. I don't think you could possibly go wrong!
@ChevyGang23 Go Retroid only started shipping November 14th, per the pre-order page. FTN ordered it as soon as the pre-order went live, and lives close to the shipper, so he received it very quickly. You should receive yours soon enough!
He has some tutorials from a long while back for other devices in videos. But if you want a written guide, you can check out Retro Game Corps' guide for Android. It is very simple - emulators are just installing the application, games are just dropping them on an SD Card. It's a bit dangerous to do emulator & game setup due to piracy regulations, so it's best to use older guides for a direct setup! It's the same across 99% of Android devices.
I would think of the PR5 as the DS Lite or Game Boy Advance SP to the RP4 Pro. It's a significant upgrade... but it's a visual and ergonomic upgrade not really a performance upgrade.
@Nolimit-p6y The set-up would work, yes. The RP4P is similar enough. If you go back through his Live section, he will have RP4P Testing / Gameplay - and you can find him testing GT4 in there as well. Each video has timestamps.
@ well what would be the best app to get to play better ps2 games and other console where it doesn’t lag so much or can play for awhile? Since aetherx12 doesn’t support ps2 games anymore
@Nolimit-p6y You can use an earlier build of aetherSX2 or you can use netherSX2. Both can still be downloaded online, and would still support PS2 - they just won't see active updates (though - most games are already working as best as they can.) You can check the Description of any PS2 Stream from ftn's channel - he links them there (and if you can't find it or need more help, try Retro Game Corps on Google - they have a written guide.)
Lots of people want dpad on top. But, I would've liked if they released a Pro version as well with SD8G2 and dpad below the sticks. So that you could choose between the cheaper one for retro gaming and the more expensive Pro version for modern games. I ordered an RP5, but I would've gotten the Pro even if it was as expensive as Odin 2.
2:14:00 this worries me a lot. I’m thinking the 1080p screen make the RP5 worst than RP4pro for ps2. Because you need to upscale more, performance is worse. This could be a deal breaker and I’m now regretting ordering one
Makes me think I should just wait & order Odin 2 Portal instead, even bigger screen & should be able to handle what the RP5 cannot. RP5 just isn’t a big enough upgrade performance-wise from the RP4P.
@@leonardomatheus1888 Smaller and smaller resolution screen needs less battery, and he had it in high performance the entire time also. 4+ hours in high performance mode is pretty good.
@@SP1CEANDW0LF Oled screens are very efficient, Aish already tested the difference in consumption of the screens and if anything, the rp5 screens consume LESS than the rpmini screen. At max brightness, the rp5 consumes 600mah, while the mini 500mah, but the rp5 screen is much brighter.
Oh, so you didn't mean the battery issue stated by retroid. The rpmini also has the same oled screen as the rp5. Of course the rp5 drains more battery, because of the screen size.
What’s with the little buttons (one to the right of the d pad and one to the text of the ABXY) they aren’t the same distance each side. The left has a bigger gap to the ring around the d pad, that would drive me insane!
They are the same distance away. The sizes of the cut outs around the Dpad and face buttons are different sizes, with the face buttons' one being larger. Now that I mentioned it, you can't ever unsee it :D
@@sxixlxnx You get used to it. I have the 16 bit version myself and it stopped bothering me like a day after I noticed it. Might look weird, but the spacing on the buttons decreases the chances of accidental inputs with them
@RGB-Gamer It's a matter of what you want - RP5 is smaller form factor, better screen, and is much cheaper (a main goal.) If they had put in the same sort of power, it would have been closer to a $349 device - similar to the Odin 2 Mini. The differences makes Odin 2 owners potentially purchase into RP5 - and also, anyone who needs a cheaper, strong device.
Gotta say, pretty ballsy putting up a game not only at the beginning of the video but also the thumbnail of a game owned by a company known to file lawsuits and have youtube videos shut down for unauthorised use of their licensed products. I salute you good sir, keep doing god's work 🫡

I am so excited to get one of these in my hands!

Thank your for your support!
What a beautiful machine
So happy for you you for your unit. Mine hasn't been shipped yet. But I ordered first week of November
Same here
Yea, same.
Yh same. Just seen update on their website. They just said if we ordered before November 30th then it will arrive before xmas
@@33amaddo..... 2 to 3 weeks before they're shipping mine.
@chilly6470 yh it's really annoying. I pre ordered mine on November 2nd and still no sign of it being shipped.
Thanks for putting time codes
this is really a beautiful handheld!
Looks solid - I’m really happy with my RP Mini so I’ll likely just keep my Deck or Ally for widescreen or heavier stuff or longer sessions
it is beautiful in purple color
Did you install the turnip drivers? I think they give better performance for dolphin
I was using the standard driver, I will try Turnip later.
Hi, when did you order it?
Did you use DHL for shipping and did you have to pay import duty?
Thanks!
With DHL you always pay import duty if required by the law in your country
I ordered mine September 11 with DHL because it was the quickest but mine haven't shipped yet
@@ChevyGang23 Oh right, I assumed if you ordered early, it would've shipped by now.
Must be luck of the draw?

Any screen problem as Retroid Pocket Mini?
Is there any doc capabilities to hook up to a tv or monitor
Yes, there is an official dock which costs $29.90. It supports 4K.

It's a big pain in the arse to set this up. I'm regretting buying mine. It's a chore that i do not have the time or the patience for.
Matte front buttons and dpad is very cool, but why on earth is all the front of the console glossy? A grease magnet
I knew i shouldve got the gamecube version. Got the 16 bit and pre ordered the minute it went live.. still waiting to be shipped 🤦
To be fair, some of these games won't get 60fps at widescreen with x3 upscaling even on PC. Using WS resolution on ps2 emus is pretty demanding
I got the GC one too im just waiting for it to ship
Hi where did you purchase from to the UK ?
