  • This clip will guide you on how to install the PeppyMeter screensaver plugin from start to finish. This is a Mac version. You can also do it with Windows.
    Hardware needed:
    A Raspberry Pi 4 (2 or 4 or 8gb) with a power supply 5v 3a
A micro SD card (16gb or bigger) with a card reader
    A DAC
A Screen with HDMI port (I use a screen from my old Dell laptop 15.4" 1280x800) with HDMI cable
    A Mac (for this video)
    Software needed:
    Volumio for Pi - updates.volumi...
    Etcher - www.balena.io/...
    FileZilla - dl3.cdn.filezi...
    Peppy_Screenserver - github.com/2aC...
*** Spotify on Volumio 2.9x only works with a small modification in the spotify template.

I have Volumio installed on a Pi3, with a Cambridge Audio Magic Plus DAC, connected via USB to the Pi3. When I try to play my high-resolution files from Volumio, my DAC does not show more than 48 kHz, even when setting higher resolutions. My Volumio is the free version. Hi Andy, many thanks for the great video.
    I have installed it,and it’s great.
    Quick question.
Where in the Peppy software do I chose a specific meter to display, and once I find one I like, make it permanent, rather than the software displaying random meters?
    Many thanks

Hi Eli, I'm glad you made it to work. You can change the peppy resolution to match to your screen by go to the Peppy Meter plugin setting and change it there.

Thanks for guide Mr. Andy , why you chose pi + volumio over mac + audirvana setup ..what is difference ? Thank you ...

    • @Naimnatnod1
      @Naimnatnod1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The short answer is simplicity. I always wanted to have a good streaming system that can do the following:
      - Play music files from my NAS
      - Play all kind of formats (flac, wave, DSD, mp3, etc.)
      - be able to control from my cellphone, tablet and remote computer (both Mac & Windows)
      - reasonable price
      - Good sound quality
      - peppy meter plugin - an excellent added-on
      - easy to use and setup
I still have a 13 inch MacBook Pro connected to my stereo system just for recording my favorite songs from my vinyl collection. Tried Audirvana (also roon) before but didn't answer my need.
I am totally satisfied with my current setup now.

Thank you for Reply Mr Andy , Can you compare sound quality audirvana vs volumio ? On Audirvana side Also play music from Nas , controlling over cell phone via audirvana remote , i choose mac mini m1 over raspberry pi , but i love peppy meter , this is why i can buy a raspberry pi , i installed volumio on my old celeron laptop , I couldn't see the volumio screen from the laptop screen.. thank you ..
