If you are going with a Classic Rig setup and Sailplan, Never ignore the options that are available from Businesses Specialising in secondhand Sails. Sails that are as New, or even Brand New and unused, can be had for massive savings. I already had a working, plus backup Suit of Sails lined up for my last boat I bought, only to find that it came with 5 brand new Sails, so no panic on getting the spare Suit. Get weight of Cloth and sizes of each Sail you need, before you start looking. A good source indicator is that each Sail is inspected and Valeted by the dealer, before they get listed. Two of the best days, a new sail and peeling the masking tape off after an antifoul. Can't remember (I'm old) did you haul outin Darwin etc etc. Have every confidence in you both, Soph you're much more experienced and capable than you credit yourself and you have the perfect home-based experience and advice. Also credit to Slim for taking everything in his stride. You complement each other. I don't comment often now but you may or may not remember ive been following since the beginning and the Good Doctor lol. Stay safe

Ullman Sails = 👍 They'll be doing some Sails for my Next Sailboat as great spec for my Battenless Triradial in Mast Furling Main, and Triradial Furling Genoa, and a Reaching Furling Code Zero (probably going to test their amazing sounding Cruising Polyester laminate with no Nasty Mylar in it). The Quantum Suit of Sails that come with the Boat, will be the Backup Suit of Sails. Not 100% sure of the Genoa size yet, and due to the Code Zero likely to do a great job filling in the Wind angle gaps, may go for a Furling self tacking Jib, and add a Furling Gennaker for Downwind if it can fit in with with the Seldene electric Sail Handling by pushbutton system. So even though I'm disabled, Solo Sailing should still be fine if needed. That there is still Manual Winch handling Backup, has swung me to at least try it. The big worry with spending years in Hot Places is the speed with which UV light does serious damage to Sailcloth, Lazyja ks, and Stackpack covers, which to a great extent Furling the Sail inside an Aluminium Mast when at Anchor, goes a long way towards eliminating, and Sacrificial UV strips on Furling Headsails does wonders for as well. Not with the state our sail was in. It was too far stretched to give an accurate measurement. The guys just wanted the measurements for the rig, leech, luff, foot etc. to make it from scratch
