    Snap! Side sleeper, too. Absolutely love my old model Nemo Tensor Alpine Mountaineer pad. At the time I bought it, the 25 inch wide only came in the long version at, IIRCC, 77 inches. Well, I'm only 5'2". There's at least a whole foot of that pad that I never used, but still had to inflate/deflate and wrangle into a packable entity. I bought the Nemo uninsulated short/mummy version, but it just wasn't as good as my old orange pad. Awesome warranty, but oh well... Yup, I did it. Cut it down to 60" and it's absolutely perfect for me. Weighs less now and so easy to pack up each morning. AND, I just bought the Nemo Filo pillow. My Nemo sleep system is incredible.

    Sleeping pads are like shoes... everybody's got to find the right fit for them! Glad that one works for you! I share your sentimentson the neo air. I did not have such a good experience with that nemo pad... my best pad so far has been the exped ultra 3R. But still the hammock is my first love whenever possible! Thanks for keeping with the gear recommendations! Can't wait to see your PCT hike!

    Perfectly timed video ! I’m trying to put a ground system together, for research for A.T. Attempt. I’ll go with this pad (long, wide) you always steer me right. ( just not sure I can go to ground, just LOVE my hammock!)

    I switched away from the Neoair a few years ago for the long/wide insulated Tensor and feel so much more comfortable on trail. The extra weight rankles my ultralight sensibilities 😅 but getting proper rest is way more important than 8 more ounces.

    In my opinion the Tensor is the best mat on the market right now.
    So much so that I bought two, winter and summer, both long and wide. They’re great.
    Buy a Flextailgear mini pump for inflation. 👍🏼

    • @nalonabrato8900
      @nalonabrato8900 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for mentioning the Flextail. I was wondering if it would work on this pad (which I purchased a few months ago).

    • @dougieranger
      @dougieranger ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nalonabrato8900 It definitely works, I just hold it on the valve if it feels loose. Only takes a minute to inflate.

    • @FrozensAdventures
      @FrozensAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As Dougieranger said, yes it works. Takes 51 seconds to blow it up for me. There are many different nozzles that the flextail comes with. The same nozzle I use for the tensor also works for my Sea to Summit Aeros pillow but the flextail also comes with a smaller nozzle to accommodate the pillow.

    Nice! I'm a back sleeper, and I love my Thermarest Neoair XLite, but the Nemo Tensor was a close second when I was comparison shopping. Regular/wide in my case; the wide is a must, or my arms hang off the pad in a super uncomfortable fashion.

  • @claramullen
    @claramullen ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Jason yes I also am a side sleeper and love my hammock, but there are some places I love to hike and a tent is needed so I need the sleeping pad I am still figuring out what pad works best for me. Take care

  • @philamongthehills501

    I am on my 3rd regular, wide, inuslated which I have yet to use. The previoius two developed holes in a crack area of the base of the pad and were replaced for free by Nemo

  • @HitTheTrailJack
    @HitTheTrailJack ปีที่แล้ว

    if you like the tensor, the quasar 3D is 10x more comfy, weight isnt very ideal but damn it's comfy I actually sleep in on trail lol

  • @shaggyterrell8460
    @shaggyterrell8460 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I don’t know. Comfort wise I think it’s real hard to beat the Big Agnus Rapide SL long wide. I haven’t found one more comfortable,this one included. But I guess it’s all on how ya sleep!

  • @glenndorsey9068
    @glenndorsey9068 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I agree about the comfort. However, mine failed at a number of of the baffling points, and I decided to go with a Sea to Summit with double air compartments. Almost as comfortable, but reliable. A little heavier. I go with reliability on sleeping pads, after a week long trip with a nonfunctional air matress.

      @@FrozensAdventures I'm a big guy and a very restless sleeper. I'm willing to concede that I place stresses on pads that are outside of normal. Nemo replaced the pad and I gave it to my daughter. She loves it.

  • @kennethschaidle5995
    @kennethschaidle5995 ปีที่แล้ว

    Agreed the tensor is the most comfortable pad I've ever used. But in the first weed of use I, admittedly carelessly, tore a 1/2-inch rip in it. So do be careful with yours. I repaired mine with thermarest type 1 repair tape and it is still holding after about another week of use.

      Never used it but, we were talking to a Nemo rep down at trail days and they are redesigning the pad for 2024. It will be a half inch thinker with lighter materials. About the same weight as this version. I did end up getting the wide version of this pad just to try it and it really improved my sleep even more.

      Yes it's a shame channels do that. Take a look at my reviews on cnoc trekking poles (sent free) and the first look of evlvd supply co (sent free). It's up to the vendors to work through the constructive criticism and fix their products. If they don't and stop talking to me about it. Then they weren't a very good company to begin with.

      to a degree you get what you pay for.
      can buy the cheapo pads. or junkie matresses. not only won't they last, but they're usually dogshit for thermal insulation. ...there's also something to be said for how they're made. the baffle design or how it's laid out does tend to matter if you don't want to wind up sleeping on the ground. at which point what's the point of spending any money on a blow up mat. if you're just on the ground
