Pretty typical for an MMO tbh. Like Elder Scrolls Online you have to purchase the game and then there’s a membership if you want extra stuff that’ll help alot but there’s still tons to do with out it.
In the flip though there’s games like RuneScape where it’s free and there’s tons to do for free but even more if you pay for a membership. I think Wizard101 just didn’t do it well imo

It's unfortunate free-to-play wizards can't fully take advantage of the team-up and multiplayer features, it is much more common the further you progress in the game with higher levels bosses and mobs. Thank you for making a video on the free to play version of the game or should I say "demo" 😂
downloaded it a few days ago and my biggest question was how deep the pay wall went.. kind of sucks knowing i’ll only get to level 10 but it’s still fun to play for a bit
It’s a very fun game tbh and I didn’t make it to lvl 10 so it might be a bit further I’m just going off of what I read online after some research. But if you enjoy the game enough pay for the monthly subscription if you are able then it’s great!

The reason why I still play this game is cause there is no rush to anything you do what you want to do, do not let people try to compare what you have or do, the moment you let that happen you loose and that applies to every game, we play to relax not to have another job. Agreed!👍 the skip button while it would be nice being an MMO makes sense not to have it cause I feel like the other players would have to agreed to skip or something. Plus the animations of the spells are the coolest thing about the game! Lol
I disagree, specifically BECAUSE its a membership based game. That really limits what they can offer while keeping a profit on new users, I would say to have the cutoff around the last "street" of krok, youve gotten a feel for the game, gotten your aoe, and are getting close to your five pip hit. Youre also given the first real entry to crafting, fishing, gardening, and are able to, with some grinding, start pet building. If you give new players up to dragonspire or potentially the full arc, you're going to overwhelm new players and push them away from playing the full game as weird as that sounds. Most new players only really know about arc 1, and the devs know this which is why theyll never give that much up. At best theyll give up Wizard City and maybe the entrance to krok but anything past krok is likely forever not happening

I’d like to agree but idk really how far that is into the game. You seem to know much more about the game than I do, so I would probably agree. I just feel there needs to be really drive to want to pay for membership and (for me at least) nothing made me want to. The quest lines being cut off because I couldn’t go into certain areas really irritated me and deterred me from wanting to. But I agree they shouldn’t give too much away for free and I understand wanting to still make a profit 100%.
@@NobleNexal idk, maybe early Marleybone. For some schools you get the AOE only when u do a lot of side quests and Krocotipia story isnt that engaging. But I agree, the Krockosphinx should be free, no way you are locked out of balance spells
Game is great albeit it gets grindy and repetitive at certain points. Me and my brother played through start to finish together (with min maxing gear grinds) in about a month so we only had to pay for a month of membership. If you dont have a lot of time to dedicate to it the price point of the membership might not be worth it. It depends how nostalgic you are for the game, if you liked it as a kid you will probably still like it. Plus they actually introduce a lot of difficulty with "cheating" bosses later on and also providing the players some serious depth with pet breeding, PVP, crop farming, loot farming, dungeon crawling, etc. Essentially if you enjoy the base mechanics of the game and min maxing your character then you will probably like the membership but if you dont have the time to dedicate then it might not be worth it.
"you cant fight bosses with friends" this is just completly false lol. throughout the whole game almost every enemy and boss and dungeon you can do with friends thats like the whole point of the game
This isn’t true. I tried on several occasions doing it, plus looked it up and everyone else also said there’s only a few bosses you can fight with friends. I understand you can fight normal enemies but I’m talking the bosses in towers and such.
@@NobleNexal yeah its the other way around. there is like 2 boss towers in the first zone that are solo and thers one other tower thats solo in the first world. every other boss and dungeon is able to do as a group. there is an entire system where you can team up with players at any zone with the team up kisok.
@@turkeydota2 I believe it, just not in F2P which is what I was covering in the video. That’s why I kept saying it cause I’m sure the rest of the game is great and all, just behind a paywall unfortunately.
@@NobleNexal even in the free zones theres more bosses that you can team up for than you cant. im pretty sure there are only 3 actually. rattlebones, blackhope and golem tower. theres more than double that in triton avenue that are team up
its a good game. its just old and its updates are generally $new packs to open$. and as @RoanRetro said, No one is going to pay $60 annually anymore - which is why many have quit. (also omg the support system on this game is laughable)
